:0 you don't NEED pj's- more just as long as you have something comfy to wear around the hospital that allows you to move and be comfortable. Just as long as you don't have to depend on nasty hospital gowns :) ie. lounge pants and a tank top is all good! Your husbands head looks pretty narrow, as does yours, so I think you should have a normal size headed baby. They always look so big on U/s but its really just very small. At the very worse, try your best and if the worst happens, you go to surgery. It sucks, but it isn't that bad. I may be weird, but the contractions hurt yes, but i still think it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. I was imagining so much worse. You HAVE to read "Ina may's guide to childbirth!" It was the most important thing that helped me over all. One of the biggest things I learned from that book was that if you think positive, you will have a positive birth experience. If you think you can't do it, you are more likely to fail. I really like the visualization techniques as well- so during a contraction instead of thinking "wow! this hurts!" think "I can do this and I am opening and dilating. Soon my baby will be here" I swear that thinking like this helped me to dilate faster. My friend said the same thing during her birth. I also liked the breathing techniques. Even when I was on the way to surgery with no pain medication and trying hard not to push, her breathing techniques helped so much. Breathe through your mouth and stay open, making low sounds with your mouth. Breathe out like you are blowing raspberries on your babies tummy or make your lips vibrate like a horse. Even if you do tear, its still a better recovery than having surgery. The perineal massage with oil does work- my midwife talked about doing that with me too. Anyways, just read her book. It even goes into the topic of the possibility of having an orgasmic birth! THat's the power of thinking positive! sounds crazy, but there are women who enjoy the birth process so much that it feels good to them! Actually, another friend of mine who also read her book after her 36 hours of labor said she missed it now that it was done! So it is possible to have a positive experience. Here is the link on amazon for the book: http://www.amazon.com/Ina-Mays-Guide-Childbirth-Gaskin/dp/0553381156

If you are short on space- have you seen this? http://www.amazon.com/Graco-Play-Yard-%252d-Willow/dp/B000BHK9LW Its really a great product. They have other colours as well, but I really just like the overall product. Isaac slept in it until he was 5 months old as we only had a one bedroom 500 sq foot apartment for us to live in at the time. Now its still good for when we go out to a friends house. You can also consider bathing him in your sink when he's little or even shower with him (but you need 2 people to do this safely!) one person to wash him in the shower and the other person to grab him when you are done cleaning him and then get him into his jammies. Then when he was too big to shower, he was big enough to sit in the tub and play in it during his bath.
A swing can take up a lot of room, but its really nice if you have some space. I liked the chair we got for him (a shower present)- fisher price, linkys chair. IT vibrates to calm him and it was pretty small too.

Isaac is fine now. Thankfully, he hit the front of his head (forehead) which the doc said is the hardest part of his head. We had a rough night after- he woke up a lot, but he's fine now. But he's also teething now too so he's been waking an hour or two after he gets up, gets some boob milk and then goes back to sleep.

Well, I love the name Isaac and alexander is really cute! I think its a great name! It means 'laughter' in hebrew as well. Its a very old, very strong name. I'm sure you will be a great mom. No matter what happens with your boy, as long as you love him to the best of your ability, he will grow up to be strong!

thanks
