Tuesday, 19 August This is a weird question! I don't know if they think or not. Actually, it would be pretty hard to confirm yes or no, even for an expert. They don't have our language skills, so they wouldn't be thinking in sentances, but they do know the basics at this point- sucking- which is their main past time. Memory would even be difficult to say. I noticed Isaac would remember where things were in our house around 5 months of age. A doula I met in our prenatal course said that if you were to ask a two year old if they could remember being born, some would say yes. She had been told this and then went to ask her boy, and he told her 'it was like being squeezed out of a bottle!" I found that interesting. I have some vague memories of my brother coming home from the hospital and I was only 21 months old. Experts say that the ability to remember something comes from thinking about it often throughout your life. Memories leave us when we stop thinking about them. So does a young baby feel, think, remember? I say yes, but in their own ability to do so- which is different from how we remember or think about things as an adult. I always imagined Isaac would be inside playing with his best friend, placenta and sucking his thumb and be generally happy. It would explain why he didn't want to come out during labour! Tuesday, 19 August Try not to be scared. I didnt send it out to scare people I just figured she would need many prayers and we could give her some. These things do happen, but all in all they are rare. If everything has been going along healthy with your baby so far chances are you will be fine. It is out of our hands anyway. And worrying about it wont help any so try not to. You will be fine.

Friday, 15 August I just got word that Cindernella delivered by emergency c-section yesterday. Unfortunately it was to late and the baby didn't make it. Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers. She will need them. Mrs. Beasley -

Thursday, 14 August A website on the drink:

On drinking red bull and breast feeding:

on caffeine intake and breastfeeding:

In short- drinking the amount you were before is no good- even if you weren't pregnant or breastfeeding. 2 should be the max. If you notice your baby is getting more irritable or gassy, then you may want to cut down to one a day or save it for special occasions. I was addicted to caffeine before getting pregnant. Unfortunately, it was the sudden nasty taste my coffee developed that first had me suspecting I was pregnant. Now that I'm breastfeeding, I have one cup of coffee a day, but more usually its decaf or half-caf. I've been enjoying not getting the headaches, and i also feel more naturally awake. Its good not needing the caffeine kick in the morning, i don't wake up in a fog anymore. SO when I'm up at 3am or 6am every day, i don't feel totally broken.
Regarding fish oil. My midwife suggested this to me as well. I asked the pharmacist about it as it says on all the bottles to NOT take if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. After reading this website, this seems to be the reason why:

Vitamin A and Pregnancy
Another vitamin that pregnant women shouldn’t overdue it on is vitamin A. In certain forms, this vitamin has been linked to an increased risk in birth defects. There are two forms of vitamin A – betacarotene and retinol. Retinol vitamin A, the type that is found in certain foods like liver, is thought to be dangerous during pregnancy and therefore should be limited to no more than 3,300micrograms per day. Vitamin A in betacarotene form is thought to be safe but discuss the issue with your health care provider to be sure. And if you are taking fish-oil supplements, pay attention to what part of the fish the supplement is produced from.
Any fish supplement that is made from a fish’s liver, like cod liver oil, contains vitamin A in retinol form and therefore should be limited. Supplements that are not derived from fish livers are less likely to have vitamin A in retinol form, but you may want to look for supplements that are specially made for pregnant women to be on the safe side.
So, some of the best ways to get benefits of the fish oil which is the OMEGA 3 fatty acid, is to use flax seed oil (you can buy flax seed bread) or get the oil and mix it with balsamic vinegar on your salads as a dressing oil. You can also safely have salmon in your diet several times a week. You can also get the omega's 3's in some eggs (we have BORN 3 eggs available that have the omega 3's in it) or eat almonds and walnuts are also good sources. What you want to get out of fish oil is the OMEGA 3's which is not only good for your baby's developing brain, but yours as well, and your heart function too! So try to get it from safer sources than the actual fish oil. Debra -
Wednesday, 13 August do you want the bras for now or for during breastfeeding too? I had a couple of bras for sleeping in that were just reg. sports bras while preggers and now use a shelf maternity bra for at night. I still end up feeding him sometimes during the night and the girls like the support :) Enjoy the time now. sleep! My boy is almost 9 months now and I don't know where the time has gone. Its a warp i guess. While pregnant, it felt like it took forever. 9 months was forever. Now its going by so fast, i want to slow it down. Do you realize that next year you'll be in my boat racing after a crazy baby that's pulling himself up and eating cheerio's off the floor and generally getting into trouble? Wow! I found it hard to imagine, but it goes by so fast. Like next year I'll have a toddler and probably thinking about getting pregnant with the next one! Debra -
Wednesday, 13 August I just realized, you have the same due date as I did last year! Debra -
Tuesday, 12 August that's a foot for sure! I had a couple times where I felt him get his foot caught and felt him slide his foot down over each rib- thump, thump, thump. That didn't feel good. He/she is just trying to get comfy. Its getting tighter and tighter in there and he will try to get creative about stretching and finding room for his limbs. Which means more bladder bouncing kicks, diaphragm kicking and stomach punching. The relief you will feel when the baby comes out will be so amazing. It was so instantaneous and when you get your body back, that's when I realized how happy I was NOT being pregnant. summerisis -
Sunday, 10 August Hi everyone. I added some pics of Sierra. They're on the last two photo tabs. My friend is a photographer and got some nice shots at a little party that her grandparents through for her.
I'm back atwork and time is limited. Hubby is playing Mr. Mom these days. Sierra is doing well -- nearly sitting up, grabbing her feetsies, and *talking* up a storm.
Anyhoo. Gotta go. I hope you enjoy the pics.

Saturday, 9 August Girl, I just found out that I have gestational diabetes. It only happens when you are pregnant but it's not good. I need to go see a nutritionist so they can put me on a diet. I am a bit concerned. I hope everything goes well. I need to stop eating sugary stuff and excercise daily. Also, my dr. has scheduled my c-section. I will be having my baby Nov.3 @12:30 and that's if I don't go into labor before that cause if I do, then I will have the baby even sooner. Well, I hope you gave a great weekend. Write to you on Monday.
