Hello,
So I decided that this site would be great for me so that I know im not the only mom to be with soo many aches and pains!!! Im 22, A little younger than I wanted to be to have my first baby. My fiance is a bit older and we are soo excited to be parents. We already have an 8 month old chocolate lab pup who keeps us busy and honestly has prepared us more than we know for parent hood.
On Feb 8th we find out the sex of the baby and get to have an ultrasound for the first time. We heard the heartbeat 2 weeks ago and it was 150bpm. That by far was one of the most exciting things to hear.
Well I look forward to chatting with all the other mommies to be:)
Jan 18th- Went to the doctor today!!! We heard the heartbeat was 144. Was weighed, gained another 4 pounds so have gained a total of 7 pounds so far. Not too bad!!!! Im feeling pretty good lately, besides from the lower back pain, headaches, and some dizziness. They decided to do a surprise ultra sound for me considering the doctor was booked the next 3 weeks. We saw the baby and it look perfect, when I figure out how to use my new scanner I will get the pics up! So we also found out we are having a girl! She was moving so much I was scared the tech was going to give up but she kept going and the baby finally flipped upside down and we saw the 3 lines!!!! I was surprised at first because everyone was trying to tell me it was a boy but from the start I knew it was a girl! So her name will be Alexa Pearl Herrick. We couldnt be happier. She was measuring 6oz 6 inches long. Now I Just wish June would come now!!
April 9th.
I Just wanted to let any moms know what I do for work. I was working as a part time nanny, Well I actually still do but this is my last month! I also work for a company called Arbonne International. I am the same way with capri the one I had on were bermuda shorts and not capris. I can not were capri because I am only 5ft. It is hard being short and pregnant. Everything is made so long!!

I know I am really excited that things are progressing. See I thought the same thing about being checked and the doc saying, oh nothing yet casue literally I have felt nothing. No pressure, no contractions (that i knew of) and he is still so very high. I finally got the understanding of what a contraction will feel like and after, realized that I had been having alot of them, especially after she checked me, I had contractions the rest of the day. It would be so nice if he came at the beggining of June so I could spend more time with him at home before I go back to work, so I am keeping my fingers crossed, but she said she has seen people hold on to that 3cm until theie delivery date as well, so I guess we will see next week if it has changed any.
How are you feeling? Are you ready for her to come?

Hi! Personally, i think you should wait... I tried returning stuff from my registry that I did not have a gift receipt for and they made me do the shopping right then and there. Not sure why but they would not give me a gift card or anything.
So you should just buy other stuff that you need, and wait. The items will show up. I had this high chair on my registry that someone bought me like 2 months ago.. the person didnt come to my shower and i had no idea who it was! It showed up yesterday at my job!
You could buy those two items for yourself and make sure you get a gift receipt so that when you get the ones that other people got you, you'll be able to return them w/ no problem.
But you can also just wait as well and i'm sure the person that got you those doesnt really want to keep them.. so eventually you will get them :)

Kinda the same thing, my inlaws did come but brought nothing they said they wanted to see what everyone else got us (ummm ok, that is what registries are for) and they said "now we know what to get you" well, they didn't tell me and I went the next day and did my little bit of shopping. I need the 2 big items, the playard with bassinet and the stroller carseat. My friend said she is purchasing the playyard and will let me know when I can pick it up. If they buy the same thing, it is going back, they didn't tell me and I have a baby to plan and get ready for.

Hi rachel i too am feeling like that no that anything will go wrong but the fact that in 6 weeks time i will have a baby it just feels so surreal i mean i know obviously i am pregnant (with a belly my size lol) but it just feels not real and like a dream or something

I hope your baby shower goes well. I'm supposed to be having one on the 28th but I'm not sure if it's going to happen. Since this is my 3rd I wouldn't normally get one but since it's my first boy a friend wanted to throw me one. LOL..

I totally felt the same way as you are with my first. You are so scared of the unknown. I was scared that I was going to die during labor but the chances of that happening now a days are SO small. I was kinda nervous with my second just because my blood pressure was REALLY high during labor with my first so I thought I was going to have the same thing with my second. I ended up having a GREAT delivery the second time and this time around I'm not scared at all. I mean I'm kinda nervous about the pain since I want to go all natural but I know I can always get the epidural if I really need it. LOL.. So don't worry to much, you will be fine

Gosh mine is a stinking little wiggle worm they arent kicks, but lots of pokin and rubbing and wiggling. It is cool to since i had an ultrasound, now i know exactly where everything is so I can tell what she is doing in there...lol

I don't think you will get stretch marks from scratching but the itching is due to your skin stretching, rub lotion on it, preferably cocoa butter, it really helps I butter my belly up twice a day and I rarely have itching and still no stretch marks.

lately things have been good... but earlier on it seemed like there was always something to worry about. I am feeling pretty good.. but i have also developed the prego waddle and i always have this pain underneath my belly... i'm assuming because the baby is getting heavier... but getting out of bed and bending over are both a little bit uncomfortable.

Crap! My grandmother insisted on buying the seat, so it is wrapped and ready to go to my shower next weekend...that's why we haven't tried it out!
We have a GMC Envoy. It has the 3rd row...so if it won't fit in the middle row, hopefully it will fit in the back seat!
That will be interesting...me climbing in and out of the back seat each time!

Just saw your car seat post...what do you have?
We bought the Chicco (prounonced'Key-Co') KeyFit 30. We fell in love with the colors and the fact that it is one of the few infant carriers / car seats that is rated for up to 30lbs and 20 inches.
Although...I haven't attempted to put it in our SUV yet...the posts that I have read about the car seat on babiesrus.com seem to be very favorable for big vehicles.
The other thing we liked, was the stroller that the seat fits with...it is great! Especially since my husband is 6-3, we needed something that was easy for him. It has an adjustable handle so he can raise it when he is walking with the baby.
The biggest 'pro' for us was that the seat fits into the stroller and it stays in place.
With our daughter, we had a Graco system and the infant seat never stayed in place. We checked at the store...and they were still not secure...so we were happy to find the Chicco stroller / seat!

That's exactly what it feels like to me, except it is my right foot.
I hate to say it...but maybe it is the way I walk...and all the extra weight is taking it's toll on that foot? I don't know...but I am living in my Crocs b/c they are the most loose fitting shoes that I own!
Other than that, are you feeling good? I am having a lot of Braxton-Hicks, and a tremendous amount of pressure down below...as if the baby is hanging out way down there!

We got a Britax Decathlon from Target (http://www.britaxusa.com/products/product_detail.aspx?ID=3). I drive an SUV & this fits very well. It was a little pricey, but we chose this seat because it will be useful for a long period of time as our baby grows (from 5 to 65 lbs). The company seems to have a pretty good safety reputation. The neutral color appealed to me in case we end up using this seat for other kids in the future... also to hide stains. Good luck!

hey! i just read your comment about your foot under 34 weeks... i have had that pain before also.. it is most likely from not getting support from your flip flops... i only get that pain in my right foot normally because for some reason i carry more weight on the right side of my body... that is most likely why you would only have the pain on one side. I didn't know that i carried more weight on the right until i went to a chiropractor and he checked my posture... he told me i was carrying 15 pounds more on my right side because of how my spine is aligned!!! (kinda weird because i always thought i had good posture!!) haha! The best thing you can do is get a new pair of flip flops that have arch support like reefs or rainbows. That helped me alot. Hopefully this helps! Feel better!

Yeah, I am pretty much just eating, salad, vegetables, grilled chicken, yogurt, and then I am trying not to CHOW down, just eat until I am full. In the long run you think it would be healthier for the both of us, it just sucks right now, but it is only 4 weeks, I can cope with it for that long. As soon as the baby is born and I am hungry I want sweet and sour chicken, egrolls, crab rangoon and ice cream!!!!
I wish my Dr. didn't do all of this either...lol, ignorance is bliss right? I think she will weigh around 8 lb's when she is born...time will tell!

Well, it is mostly an absolutely NO sugar, watch how much you eat kind of diet. They don't want the baby to gain a lot more and sugar really makes the baby pack the lb's on. I have currently only gained 17lb's!!! And it is obviously all baby!

Thank you for the feedback. I tried asking what it all meant, but they were too concerned with making the contractions stop rather than explain anything very well for me. I told them that I didn't want to stop labor any further after this because it just doesn't seem natural to me, but my docs never seem to listen. They now have me on level 2 bed rest so my contractions don't get any worse, I guess hopefully this will work. Anyway, thanks again. Good luck with everything.
