Hello,

So I decided that this site would be great for me so that I know im not the only mom to be with soo many aches and pains!!! Im 22, A little younger than I wanted to be to have my first baby. My fiance is a bit older and we are soo excited to be parents. We already have an 8 month old chocolate lab pup who keeps us busy and honestly has prepared us more than we know for parent hood.

On Feb 8th we find out the sex of the baby and get to have an ultrasound for the first time. We heard the heartbeat 2 weeks ago and it was 150bpm. That by far was one of the most exciting things to hear.

Well I look forward to chatting with all the other mommies to be:)

Jan 18th- Went to the doctor today!!! We heard the heartbeat was 144. Was weighed, gained another 4 pounds so have gained a total of 7 pounds so far. Not too bad!!!! Im feeling pretty good lately, besides from the lower back pain, headaches, and some dizziness. They decided to do a surprise ultra sound for me considering the doctor was booked the next 3 weeks. We saw the baby and it look perfect, when I figure out how to use my new scanner I will get the pics up! So we also found out we are having a girl! She was moving so much I was scared the tech was going to give up but she kept going and the baby finally flipped upside down and we saw the 3 lines!!!! I was surprised at first because everyone was trying to tell me it was a boy but from the start I knew it was a girl! So her name will be Alexa Pearl Herrick. We couldnt be happier. She was measuring 6oz 6 inches long. Now I Just wish June would come now!!

April 9th.

I Just wanted to let any moms know what I do for work. I was working as a part time nanny, Well I actually still do but this is my last month! I also work for a company called Arbonne International. Its a skin care company that is 100% natural, all vegan which means its not tested on animals and there are no animal biproducts used. Its hypoallergenic, and is a swiss formutaled product. There are many different lines, 6 to be exact. One which I thought some moms may be interested in was the Baby Line. Im not sure if anyone has watched dateline or read the latest blogs online. But many products especially baby products contain parabins, and Mineral oil. Mineral oil is aweful for your body and your skin, Its derived from plastic and is toxic to your skin.. No wonder why soo many people break out and dont know why!!! Well anyway, I just wanted to inform anyone who wanted to know about this business and some of the products. You can become an independent consultant as well and get all products for wholesale which is an additional 35-50% off, everything is shipped directly to your house and you dont have to go run to the mall to go waste money on skin care products that aren't good for you. I dont preach about arobonne, but if anyone has any questions please feel free to message me or even go look on the website yourself! www.arbonne.com.

Thanks!!!

Hey ! I love rootbeer too!!! I have been so into it this last trimester. Baby loves rootbeer!!

rubymom - Wednesday, 4 June
The highest it has been is 147/110 and 153/97. It's usually lower (high 130's/high 80's) if I am lying down or reclining. I guess that is why they have me on bedrest. I don't have protein in my urine yet, but they are checking twice a week for that. What has your b/p been? I think everyone is different. My husband's is super low -like 90/60.

my co-worker said that when she had her daughter, she had her at a hospital w/ a ton of residents. Well, her daughter was breeched, and they tried to turn her but they couldnt.. so they took her to another room to see if they could do a c-section on her, but while she walked there, the baby's foot came out! LOL!!

well, the residents were all over that! and she said that they kept coming in her room to see the baby's foot hanging out and they would tickle her foot and the baby would pull her foot back in really fast (which she said hurt like hell) until finally her real dr. came in and kicked everyone out. I'm sure it was weird to see that, but dang, they dont think of the pain the moms are going through when they mess with them!!

rubymom - Wednesday, 4 June
Do they make you take your b/p every day? I take mine every hour or two. It seems to be highest when I stand up for long periods do stuff or if my in-laws are visiting. I thought that was pretty funny. I wish I could walk around to get the labor going like they suggest, but I know it would be bad for the b/p.

oh girl i get that numbness feeling too. sucks to be on bed all day, i get the numbness but even worse leg craps in the mornings OMG i cry when i get them.. my poor guy wakes up and rubs my legs until they go away. well we are almost there and hopefully we feel wonderfull after the baby and we can be skinny again(at least me) lets be strong and we'll see who delievers first you or me...

mommy@21 - Wednesday, 4 June
ooh lady you make me feel like a normal pregnant person, thats why i asked cause i was worried plus my pain was bad this morning still is can't walk that good sometimes i think i'm being a cry baby cause it hurts and i'm not sure it's normal. my pregnancy so far has been good, how about you? i quit my job my third month due to morning sickness and the stress in my job i didn't wanna deal with it while pregnant, thank good the morning sickness is gone other than today i feel great i walk alot and try to stay happy cause i believe if your happy your baby is happy.. how about you... seems like we are around the same age.... take care and good luck with the baby... again thanks for your reply...

xAIDENSMOMMIEx - Wednesday, 4 June
my legs get numb alot and once in a while my hands do 2 i guess it's normal

tangerina - Wednesday, 4 June
with their hands??!!

tangerina - Wednesday, 4 June
well, she said she could check me if i wanted her to, but knowing me, i'll just be paranoid with whatever little bit of info she's able to give me until the baby comes.. i decided a while back that i rather not know if i've progressed.. LOL!!

i cant imagine if she told me was 2 or 3cms along.. i'd be driving around w/ my labor bag in my car. LOL!! I figured i'll find out when i go into labor and know that i'm only a while away from meeting my little posterior sweet pea.

and i know what you mean, we had to put a window ac unit in our room because i was boiling... i'm usually the one that sleeps w/ sweats and a t-shirt and sleep socks under 4 blankets.. now i sleep w/ sweats pulled up at the knees, no socks, no blankets, and my shirt pulled up above my belly, tossing and turning all night because my butt cheeks get numb.. LOL i'm sure my husband thinks i look so sexy sleeping.

have you been checked before?

yari - Wednesday, 4 June
Hey girl you came back lol!.. How much you gain has little to do with the size of your baby. Someone overweight can have a 6 lb baby and someone who was 125 before can have a 10 pounder. Only exception are those that are diabetic (gestational i think only i am no dr). Anyhow the size of ur baby is normally a natural mix of you and your partner, example if he was 10 pounds and you were 9 pounds, you are probably gonna have a big baby. If you were 7 pounds and he was 8 then you will have around that size baby too. They also say the more you have the slightly bigger they get, boys are bigger than girls, in other words, everyone has some theory on it =)

mommy@21 - Wednesday, 4 June
thank you so much for your answers i'm afirst time mom and anything i get panic, thanks for your response so soon now i know that i''m fine since i'm not the only one withthis pain... thank you so much.... i also get up at night but i kniew tha was normal but i trully apreciate your response.....

tangerina - Wednesday, 4 June
LOL!!! yeah, i think i'll be the same way. Whenever something happens to me, i run to the internet and self-diagnose.. I worry a lot about a bunch of stupid things, it's my nature.

well, my midwife said that the water helps back labor a lot.. so i'm hoping she's right and i will be able to stand the pain without giving in.. At our Bradley Method class they talk about getting to that transition stage where you cant take it anymore.. usually at 9 or 10 cm.. and that's when you can rest assured that the baby is almost here.. so at least i know enough to not panic when i cant take it anymore... cos i'll just know that i'm really really close!! And it usually lasts like 10 minutes or so!!

it's boiling here.. i'm so hot all the time, i dont think i've ever been this hot in my life.. it was 8 am when i was driving to work and i had to turn my ac on!! it's so humid and hot.. i'm so glad the baby's almost here and i dont have to endure July and August like this!

tangerina - Wednesday, 4 June
i'm ready for a pedicure too... and a swim!! i just had my appt this morning and the baby is still posterior. The scraping feeling i'm having, she said that it's probably the baby's elbows and that that's not a good thing. :( His head will come out fine but his elbow could get stuck if he stays like that. Which means long, painful, back labor (if he doesnt turn around) EEK!!!! Now i'm so stressed out!! i'm terrified of back labor! I just ordered Hypnobirthing so i can read it before he comes! LOL!!

my hubby's searching for foam mattresses so he can make me a bed w/ a hole so i can sleep on my belly and help the baby turn over.

blueiiz - Wednesday, 4 June
I can understand. I'm the oldest in my family and this is my third baby. My mom still likes to give tons of advice. I've had to remind her that I DO know what I'm doing. Other than that, I'm not doing too bad. BH is getting more intense and uncomfortable and something just feels "different". Hope it means that my body is working on this and getting ready for labor soon. :)

TopazBecky - Wednesday, 4 June
Should you be going to Target? Aren't you on bed rest? =)

tangerina - Tuesday, 3 June
p.s. my friend gained over 60 lbs during her pregnancy and she lost 40 in less than 2 weeks, so no need to feel bad.. you will lose it :)

tangerina - Tuesday, 3 June
have fun!! i'm doing the same thing.. LOL sad huh? I'm getting my eye brows waxed and a pedicure so i can look good for labor.. (I'm sure we will really care when we're suffering the worst pain of our lives. LOL!!)

tangerina - Tuesday, 3 June
we got really lucky... we actually wanted a home birth at first but the main home birth midwife in GA recommended that we go to our current midwife since it is our first baby in case there are any complications. And it just so happens that our midwife works at a hospital that has the birthing tubs. That is REALLY rare here in Atlanta, especially since the main labor and delivery hospital loves doing c-sections and inducing etc.

I am personally a crier.. LOL!! I whine a lot and I cry when i'm in pain. I lay down in my bed and cover my head w/ the blankets and cry in pain... so i'm hoping that someone doesnt offer to let us borrow a camcorder! LOL!!

I've heard the same thing about pitocin... although if they strip your membranes and you start contractions on your own, you prob wont need pitocin :) I'll be praying that for you. Pitocin usually starts the whole snowball effect w/ the impossible-to-handle contractions, then the epi, then you fall asleep, then a c-section and on and on.. LOL I'm terrified of that.. I attended my best friend's labor, and man, everything they did to her was the total opposite of what she had on her birth plan, from beginning to end!! I felt soooo sorry for her, cos she felt so out of control.

i made sure the same thing wouldnt happen to me and before we were even pregnant i started looking for a midwife and a place to have my baby when the time came. It also stirred my heart so much to be a midwife that i started nursing school right away to become one because i didnt want women to go through what she went through. Well, i've had to put all that on hold for now, but do not mind it at all! i'd rather be w/ my little guy!!

Unfortunately, i'm working... we only have 6 wks of short-term disability .. but i want to get paid as long as possible. Since i dont have any serious issues, i've decided to work til my water breaks. After the 6 weeks are up, we'll be on one income unless my company lets me work from home, which i'm hoping they will. It's getting harder to work everyday, but at least i'm not laying in bed trying to sleep..my worst nightmare is going to bed at night! LOL!! everything really starts hurting and it's such a stinkin pain to turn over etc.. i hate it!!

keep in touch w/ me too, and let us all know when you have your baby!! i cant wait to see pics and hear how every turned out!! Just go in there w/ a positive attitude, and dont panic... it only makes labor suck more... it's good that you have an idea of what you want and that you are flexible w/ what could happen. It's the best way to keep yourself from being disappointed with your experience!

JayW - Tuesday, 3 June
Hey...about membranes being stripped, it isn't terrible. The worst part that I experienced with my daughter was that shortly after that I needed my epidural...so it wasn't very easy to 'bear down' b/c...well...since we females have been trained since pre-puberty to take care of ourselves down there and to keep dry...it was the most uncomfortable thing EVER...but not painful. The only pain was that it increased my contractions, but thank God for my epidural!

tangerina - Tuesday, 3 June
we're going for a waterbirth... so far so good, i have not developed any kind of symptoms to disqualify me from going in the water, but my baby is posterior :( I've been working w/ him to help him turn around... at least he's not breeched. I'm gonna talk to my midwife to see if she delivers posterior babies in water.. i really just want him to turn around because i'm friggin scared of back labor.

i have to be 37 weeks or over to give birth in the water, so i'm praying that i can make it past saturday!! After that i'll just be patient. But honestly, i want one of those fast labors that take like 45 mins to 2 hours or so.. i told my husband that i wanna walk in the hospital and i dont care if i dont make it to the water as long as the baby's head is already hanging out! LOL!!!

I only chose waterbirth cos it's relaxing and helps w/ the pain (and cos my little sister was born in water and my dad said it was awesome).. other than that, i'd rather have a whirlwind labor and a baby 45 mins later than to be sitting around laboring for over 24 hrs or something and making it to the water.

how do you know your baby's weight?

tangerina - Tuesday, 3 June
scary and exciting! I have 4 friends who are all due this month w/ me but the first one to go already went last Thursday!! Her due date was june 9th, but he was born the 29th.. She just sent me pics of him but has not sent me the story.. not sure if she was induced or what.

Well, hopefully after they strip your membranes you wont need to be induced... if it hurts like crap, then u'll know that contractions will start soon :) I know, it sucks that you have look forward to pain to meet your baby..LOL But i believe if they do it right and it works, you wont need to be induced :)

are you having a c-section cos of all the problems? or are they letting you try a vaginal?

tangerina - Tuesday, 3 June
stripping your membranes is different from breaking your water. Our childbirth class teacher said she had hers stripped and it hurt like hell. She said she should've known when they sent the two nurses in to hold her hands.. LOL. But she said when it hurts, it means it worked, when it doesnt hurt, it means nothing may happen..

just the term gives me the creeps.. like i need any more pain than what i have already!!

blueiiz - Tuesday, 3 June
I'm so sorry for what you're going thro with your mom. It's not cool that she's hounding you and not respecting you or your husband's roles. Unfortunately, you are going to have to talk to her sometime and lay down some boundaries because it sounds like this will continue past the birth as well. Might be better to let her know where she stands and then let her deal with her immature attitude before coming around you and baby. Hope that helps. I'll be thinking of ya. big hugs

warwickbaby - Tuesday, 3 June
My mom is the same way! I love her to pieces, but man!!!! Leave me alone already! lol... I have been trying soooo stinkin hard to be nice to her, but she needs to stop calling me 50 times a day to see "how I feel"!!! I am about 28 days away from my due date, how in the hell do you think I am feelin!

bethanne - Tuesday, 3 June
Not sure why, he just does it routinely... Good news is it was only a $4 script at walmart.
