Hello,

So I decided that this site would be great for me so that I know im not the only mom to be with soo many aches and pains!!! Im 22, A little younger than I wanted to be to have my first baby. My fiance is a bit older and we are soo excited to be parents. We already have an 8 month old chocolate lab pup who keeps us busy and honestly has prepared us more than we know for parent hood.

On Feb 8th we find out the sex of the baby and get to have an ultrasound for the first time. We heard the heartbeat 2 weeks ago and it was 150bpm. That by far was one of the most exciting things to hear.

Well I look forward to chatting with all the other mommies to be:)

Jan 18th- Went to the doctor today!!! We heard the heartbeat was 144. Was weighed, gained another 4 pounds so have gained a total of 7 pounds so far. Not too bad!!!! Im feeling pretty good lately, besides from the lower back pain, headaches, and some dizziness. They decided to do a surprise ultra sound for me considering the doctor was booked the next 3 weeks. We saw the baby and it look perfect, when I figure out how to use my new scanner I will get the pics up! So we also found out we are having a girl! She was moving so much I was scared the tech was going to give up but she kept going and the baby finally flipped upside down and we saw the 3 lines!!!! I was surprised at first because everyone was trying to tell me it was a boy but from the start I knew it was a girl! So her name will be Alexa Pearl Herrick. We couldnt be happier. She was measuring 6oz 6 inches long. Now I Just wish June would come now!!

April 9th.

I Just wanted to let any moms know what I do for work. I was working as a part time nanny, Well I actually still do but this is my last month! I also work for a company called Arbonne International. Its a skin care company that is 100% natural, all vegan which means its not tested on animals and there are no animal biproducts used. Its hypoallergenic, and is a swiss formutaled product. There are many different lines, 6 to be exact. One which I thought some moms may be interested in was the Baby Line. Im not sure if anyone has watched dateline or read the latest blogs online. But many products especially baby products contain parabins, and Mineral oil. Mineral oil is aweful for your body and your skin, Its derived from plastic and is toxic to your skin.. No wonder why soo many people break out and dont know why!!! Well anyway, I just wanted to inform anyone who wanted to know about this business and some of the products. You can become an independent consultant as well and get all products for wholesale which is an additional 35-50% off, everything is shipped directly to your house and you dont have to go run to the mall to go waste money on skin care products that aren't good for you. I dont preach about arobonne, but if anyone has any questions please feel free to message me or even go look on the website yourself! www.arbonne.com.

Thanks!!!

Thank you! Good luck to you too! Are you as nervous as I am, realizing that there will be a newborn baby in our family in about a week?!?

clreese - Friday, 30 May
Thanks! I will try these things...I was thinking it could be my prenatal pills...I will take them at night and see if that helps.

Hey thank you! I was ok up until yesterday. I have been having cramps and some spotting which scares me. I know it can be normal but I guess only time will tell. How are you doing?

i just wanted to say i read your comment about the glider and my parents got me a really nice one from target and its extremely comfortable!! I tryed looking online to find it and i cant find for sure which one it is i even tryed calling my mom and she doesnt remember which one it was(we are moving and its not with me or id look) But i was going to say if you have a target you might want to check out what they have. The one i have also makes it nearly impossible to pinch little fingers. PLUS the money you save could go towards a video camera.

Good luck

i think my glider is something like this one... http://www.target.com:80/Brooks-Countryside-Collection-Maple-Camel/dp/B000VW8478/sr=1-3/qid=1212021434/ref=sr_1_3/601-9781023-2527308?ie=UTF8&pricerange=&index=target&field-browse=1038576&rank=price&rh=k%3Aglider&page=7

I'm really surprised they didn't keep you in the hospital even if it was just monitor you. Since you had protein and sugar in your urine and your BP was up that's the main signs of preclampsia. Well if you get a bad headache and your vision gets a little fuzzy then go in right away! I hope everything works out for the better very soon. Take care!

JayW - Wednesday, 28 May
Whoa...busy day for you!
I had to do that 24-hour catch thing with our daughter...it wasn't fun. I was borderline with pre-clampsia with her, but I didn't have any contractions or anything...she was stubborn!
Well, rest now...Lord knows you won't be able to soon enough!
Keep me posted!

cori1212 - Wednesday, 28 May
Oh my goodness I just read what you went through today. My BP is always like 130-140/80 at my appointment but they consider that borderline. And since they know mine goes down they don't worry to much about it. And my urine is always clear of protein and sugar. I hope everything goes well! Did they tell you how much they think you little girl will weigh at birth if born now?

cori1212 - Tuesday, 27 May
So how did the doctor go this morning? I haven't seen any posts yet on if you had the baby. I hope everything is good.

JayW - Tuesday, 27 May
Hey...good luck today!
I lost my plug 4 weeks before I was induced with my daughter...I think everyone is different, though...and if you are still having a bloody show, it's good that you are going to the doctor this morning...
Keep us posted!

katykat - Tuesday, 27 May
Well good luck to you! And I haven't done any of the old wive's tales...I don't want to get my hopes up for one or the other. Although I really want a girl...and dh really wants a boy, which complicates things, but we will both be happy with what we get. The midwife said she thought it was a girl from the heartrate, but she's a stupid b#*$&^ who doesn't know what she's talking about (I'm pretty sure I posted a nice rant about her in the ultrasound forum).

NumberFive - Tuesday, 27 May

katykat - Tuesday, 27 May
Hey! I had m/s until almost 5 months...and every now and then, something still gags me...bleh! But it's mostly gone now, and taking its place is the wonderful heartburn. I'm so glad I can eat though! I would MUCH rather have heartburn than m/s. And I find out next Friday what I'm having, YAY!!!!!

NumberFive - Tuesday, 27 May

No it wasnt a real long car ride, made 20-30 minutes. It didnt start until we were almost home. Thanks for your reply. I go to the docs tomorrow.

3girls2008 - Monday, 26 May
i went into preterm labor at 29 wks and was 1.5cm 50% for a month then 2cm 70% for 2 wks then 3cm 80% for 1wk and now 4.5 80% for a wk now lol i was told by my doc whom i love that if i were to deliver after 35 wks baby would be just fine! I hope everything turns out really great for you! What she told me was just think you are getting through the hardest part of labor now instead of when the time really comes :)

babesinaugust - Monday, 26 May
Well for Hayden I lost it at 7 1/2 months and went full term, Chase I don't ever remembering seeing the mucus plug. Nor for my first born almost 16 years ago. I am paying more attention this time though just to say that I saw it.

nancy26 - Sunday, 25 May
hiya hon! Thanks for the message! All is well here thanks, I'm finally on maternity leave and loving it. Getting nervous too though! I feel the size of a house though! lol

How're you feeling otherwise? not long to go now for you either!

Just read through some of your comments- am I right in saying your puppy is showing signs of copraphagia? (wanting to eat dog poop). It's fairly common - a couple of my dogs had it... cured by sprinkling Cayenne Pepper on the faeces in the garden... :) anyway hope it helps!

Keep well and hope to hear from you soon!
