Hello,

So I decided that this site would be great for me so that I know im not the only mom to be with soo many aches and pains!!! Im 22, A little younger than I wanted to be to have my first baby. My fiance is a bit older and we are soo excited to be parents. We already have an 8 month old chocolate lab pup who keeps us busy and honestly has prepared us more than we know for parent hood.

On Feb 8th we find out the sex of the baby and get to have an ultrasound for the first time. We heard the heartbeat 2 weeks ago and it was 150bpm. That by far was one of the most exciting things to hear.

Well I look forward to chatting with all the other mommies to be:)

Jan 18th- Went to the doctor today!!! We heard the heartbeat was 144. Was weighed, gained another 4 pounds so have gained a total of 7 pounds so far. Not too bad!!!! Im feeling pretty good lately, besides from the lower back pain, headaches, and some dizziness. They decided to do a surprise ultra sound for me considering the doctor was booked the next 3 weeks. We saw the baby and it look perfect, when I figure out how to use my new scanner I will get the pics up! So we also found out we are having a girl! She was moving so much I was scared the tech was going to give up but she kept going and the baby finally flipped upside down and we saw the 3 lines!!!! I was surprised at first because everyone was trying to tell me it was a boy but from the start I knew it was a girl! So her name will be Alexa Pearl Herrick. We couldnt be happier. She was measuring 6oz 6 inches long. Now I Just wish June would come now!!

April 9th.

I Just wanted to let any moms know what I do for work. I was working as a part time nanny, Well I actually still do but this is my last month! I also work for a company called Arbonne International. Its a skin care company that is 100% natural, all vegan which means its not tested on animals and there are no animal biproducts used. Its hypoallergenic, and is a swiss formutaled product. There are many different lines, 6 to be exact. One which I thought some moms may be interested in was the Baby Line. Im not sure if anyone has watched dateline or read the latest blogs online. But many products especially baby products contain parabins, and Mineral oil. Mineral oil is aweful for your body and your skin, Its derived from plastic and is toxic to your skin.. No wonder why soo many people break out and dont know why!!! Well anyway, I just wanted to inform anyone who wanted to know about this business and some of the products. You can become an independent consultant as well and get all products for wholesale which is an additional 35-50% off, everything is shipped directly to your house and you dont have to go run to the mall to go waste money on skin care products that aren't good for you. I dont preach about arobonne, but if anyone has any questions please feel free to message me or even go look on the website yourself! www.arbonne.com.

Thanks!!!

i know how annoying dr's can be, sometimes it feels like nobody can help you. it sucks, but it can take a while to find someone who will actually LISTEN to what you are saying and help you figure out what to do, rather than shove drugs down you, ya know?! i need to start to go to an endocrinologist. i found out i have hypothyroidism while pregnant. oh yay, now i will be on meds forever, oh well! doing better though, except my back is starting to kill me i am wondering if it's b/c my boobs are getting so big from breastfeeding. ughhh. i was a 32 B now i'm a 36DD. yikes. im starting my diet/exercising thing tomorrow. blaaah! i figure it's been a month and if i wanna loose these last 12lbs i gotta do something other than sit on the couch being a milk buffet for my baby! LOL

Thank you! Actually, I can't sing my hubby's praises enough! He is wonderful with helping out! We kind of have a nice routine where I sleep for 3 or 4 hours at night from 8 or 9pm-midnight and he takes care of Haylie, then he puts her to bed and goes to sleep himself, and then I get up for her overnight feedings, so he can get 6 or 7 hours of sleep. I'm averaging 6 or 7 hours a night so it's working out very well. But, he's on paternity leave now and goes back to work Monday, so we may have to alter that schedule a bit, we'll see.

If he was my hubby, I would tell him he could cross that 6 week star off his calendar!!! LOL I about peed my pants when I read that! Don't worry, you're a great mama!! Your hubby is probably tired as well, not like that's an excuse...

youngmommy9 - Sunday, 6 July

You know, when they started to discuss whether to send me back home from LD, I remembered you, how they kept sending you home with those horrible pains. There was some unpleasant old doctor lady, who said "Well, your doctor may think you are 3 cm, but I have big fingers and I barely can fit three of them, so i would say 2,5. I think we'll have to send you home". And then they changed shift and here came nice young lady, a collegue of my ObGyn. She contacted my dr and they let me stay. I was so relieved, I couldn't take to be sent home being 41 weeks and contracting every 5 mins. How are you doing? Is your blood pressure improved? How are you feeling now?

Hi, I have taken benadryl while breastfeeding and it was fine. I called the pharmacist beforehand and he said it was fine to take. I have done it a handful of times and never notice any effects on Julia.

yari - Sunday, 6 July
Aww thanks, you too, it can be hard =). I know what it is, its lack of stuff for them to do and all I want to do is lay in my bed and enjoy my new one and my time off. It will work out wonderfully, I am sure I am not the only one counting the days until they go back to school hehe. How is the dog doing with the baby? I have noticed I don't pet mine as much as I used too =( since I am almost always running to pick the baby up for a feeding or a changing or a rescuing from his curious and enchanted brother and sister. My husband still plays with them tho thank goodness (dogs and the kids lol)

amy - Saturday, 5 July
I am being treated for mastitis right now. I got SO sick. Fever, chills, could barely walk to tired. My r breast got very tender and the infected area was a bit red. Hope this helps! Good luck

mama40 - Saturday, 5 July
I finally had my baby. But what a story! When I went to L&D being 41 weeks and with contractions 5 min apart, they wanted to send me home, since in 2 hours there was no progress! But they called my dr first and he told them to induce me. I pushed this baby for 3 hours (with epidural),and dr tried vaccum, but baby got too big to pass through. So I ended up with emergency c-sec. But all is over. I am already home with my baby and ready to forgot all my trouble:) I will write birth story in a while. How are you doing?

youngmommy9 - Saturday, 5 July
Hey , I read your comment and im having a hard time right now with breastfeeding too, gracies jaundiced and needs to eat every 3 hours at least, but she falls asleep at the boob!..i want to pump but im afraid she will get used to the bottle..i also cant sleep at all so i feel i should just keep trying..im so exhausted im gonna get sick ..any suggestions?

babesinaugust - Saturday, 5 July
Have you tried Moby wrapping her...or as they say wearing your baby. You might find that helps ease her from being on the breast all the time and frees you up to do things...even though she is on you. I wear Autumn when I am doing my gardening or I will when she is fussy and needs to be held to comfort her and settle her. If it makes you feel better my three boys were like Alexa, it is hard...and as long as you have support it will get better. they do grow out of it! Hugs hun!!!!

babesinaugust - Friday, 4 July
CAn I ask you question, why are you pumping and not just nursing. It seems so much more work! NOt being mean...just concerned.

tangerina - Friday, 4 July
LOL!! aww, i know.. its sooo cute!!! he's been sticking out his tongue since he was born, it looks soo cute!!!

how are you doing??!!! i finally feel like i'm crawling out of the cave.. lol!! i've been on my glider, shirtless and braless w/ breastmilk flying everywhere pretty much all day everyday.. LOL... my husband must be so disgusted. At least i've healed up pretty well and have had a pretty good week apart from the breastfeeding challenges that we feel we've finally got under control today.. thank God!!
