Hello,

So I decided that this site would be great for me so that I know im not the only mom to be with soo many aches and pains!!! Im 22, A little younger than I wanted to be to have my first baby. My fiance is a bit older and we are soo excited to be parents. We already have an 8 month old chocolate lab pup who keeps us busy and honestly has prepared us more than we know for parent hood.

On Feb 8th we find out the sex of the baby and get to have an ultrasound for the first time. We heard the heartbeat 2 weeks ago and it was 150bpm. That by far was one of the most exciting things to hear.

Well I look forward to chatting with all the other mommies to be:)

Jan 18th- Went to the doctor today!!! We heard the heartbeat was 144. Was weighed, gained another 4 pounds so have gained a total of 7 pounds so far. Not too bad!!!! Im feeling pretty good lately, besides from the lower back pain, headaches, and some dizziness. They decided to do a surprise ultra sound for me considering the doctor was booked the next 3 weeks. We saw the baby and it look perfect, when I figure out how to use my new scanner I will get the pics up! So we also found out we are having a girl! She was moving so much I was scared the tech was going to give up but she kept going and the baby finally flipped upside down and we saw the 3 lines!!!! I was surprised at first because everyone was trying to tell me it was a boy but from the start I knew it was a girl! So her name will be Alexa Pearl Herrick. We couldnt be happier. She was measuring 6oz 6 inches long. Now I Just wish June would come now!!

April 9th.

I Just wanted to let any moms know what I do for work. I was working as a part time nanny, Well I actually still do but this is my last month! I also work for a company called Arbonne International. Its a skin care company that is 100% natural, all vegan which means its not tested on animals and there are no animal biproducts used. Its hypoallergenic, and is a swiss formutaled product. There are many different lines, 6 to be exact. One which I thought some moms may be interested in was the Baby Line. Im not sure if anyone has watched dateline or read the latest blogs online. But many products especially baby products contain parabins, and Mineral oil. Mineral oil is aweful for your body and your skin, Its derived from plastic and is toxic to your skin.. No wonder why soo many people break out and dont know why!!! Well anyway, I just wanted to inform anyone who wanted to know about this business and some of the products. You can become an independent consultant as well and get all products for wholesale which is an additional 35-50% off, everything is shipped directly to your house and you dont have to go run to the mall to go waste money on skin care products that aren't good for you. I dont preach about arobonne, but if anyone has any questions please feel free to message me or even go look on the website yourself! www.arbonne.com.

Thanks!!!

My house buying advice: there are lots of houses, and since you already have a pace to live, do not rush into it until you have seen a lot of houses. Also, look at it strictly as investment and see if makes sense to buy it. Will it be easy to sell when you want to move on later, or will that lot and the old mill turn buyers away and leave you dying to get out of it? Our house was in bad shape when we bought it, but in an awesome location. Since Bobby is handy we went for it. Houses in our neighborhood still sell in days so when we are finished fixing it up (still have to do the bathrooms and maybe the kitchen) we will be able to sell it easily to move up to a larger house. Just my 2 cents!

Good luck with Weight Watchers today Rachel! My job has me working at our state fair for 10 days (I am a recycling/environmental educator) and I am surrounded by fair food. Talk about having to have some restraint. I really want to jump in the pile of corn dogs and eat my way through...instead I am eating apples!

The thing I love about WW is that it truly teaches you how to eat. Yes, I eat ice cream every single night. I have since I started WW three years ago. Hey, I don't drink (very often), don't smoke, gamble, drugs...I have a right to at least one vice right? LOL! If you don't eat enough, your body goes into starvation mode and makes you hold on to what you have. If you are eating healthy, well-balanced meals, you will find the weight comes off much better. You must eat though. I try to eat breakfast, snack, lunch, snack, dinner, and then ice cream. If you have any questions, let me know. I have a friend who has been doing WW for about 5 years; she has helped me a lot...I need to return the favor to someone else. :)

Here's a start...hope this helps a little.

Shopping Suggestions:
I don’t know what kinds of grocery stores you have where you live, but I am assuming you have a Wal Mart? Wal Mart sells all kinds of Weight Watchers brand foods. They are usually pretty reasonably priced and low in points. Some of the items might not work since we might have different brands of stuff too…I live on the west coast.
Must have’s:
• I can’t believe it’s not butter – Spray butter = 0 points…great on toast, potatoes, veggies.
• Chicken/beef broth – I use this to boil veggies & rice in. I also add to chicken to make juicier.
• Chicken breast tenders (usually 1 pt. per piece)
• Ground turkey (really high in protein…stays with you longer)
• Lean ground beef
• Turkey kielbasa sausage
• Turkey hotdogs
• Whole wheat pasta (Ronzoni has won taste test awards)
• Brown rice
• Fiber One granola bars = 2 pts.
• Mini bags of 98% fat free popcorn = 1 pt.
• Splenda
• Weight Watchers yogurt/FiberOne Yogurt = 1 pt.
• Weight Watchers cream cheese
• Low-fat sour cream
• Breyers brand ice cream – usually has fiber.
• Dreyers – Fruit bars – strawberry = 1 pt. (different brand than Breyers)
• Weight Watchers ice cream bars
• Hostess mini muffins and cupcakes = 1 pt. for package…check the different kinds though because some of them are 2 pts.
• Bran flakes cereal (look for the generic brands…they usually cost less and have fewer calories, but the same amount of other nutrients)
• Oatmeal - don’t buy the individual packets though, they are higher in points.
• Eggs
• Non-fat milk
• Low calorie bread – look for about 80 calories for (2) slices.
• 2% Kraft cheese singles
• Weight Watchers shredded cheese
• High fiber flour tortillas
• Pringles (fat free) 14 chips = 1 pt.
• Mini cans of V-8 juice = 0 pts. Helps tide you over between meals.
• Lots of veggies (avoid corn or peas – they actually have points).
• Condiments: ketchup, soy sauce, bbq sauce, mustard = 0 pts (used in moderation)
• Split pea, bean w/ bacon, turkey chili & soups
• Broth based soups (very low in points)
• Any kind of beans (most are about 2 pts. for a ˝ cup)

Work out???? Haha! I use to be very athletic, but now I consider it exercise when I walk up the stairs to change a diaper. No, I didn't work out at all. However, I am extremely disaplined with WW. I don't cheat. Also, I eat all of my daily points and save all of my bonus points (35 per week) for Saturdays. That way I can splurge at restaurants, weddings, parties.... I'll work up a nice list for you. After my second baby, I was actually starting to gain weight seven weeks post-baby. Depressing...anyway, don't give up hope. Oh, yeah...I also always weigh in on Saturday mornings (before splurging), so I have all week to work off any indulgences.

tracylouella - Monday, 29 September
LOL! Isnt it funny how insecure we get after babies? Gawd we suck dont we?! LOL

soon2be3 - Monday, 29 September
You might be surprised by how much you will be required to eat to lose weight. I get 32 points a day because I am exclusively bf'ing. The most important thing to remember is that you NEED to eat all of your points each day and use all of your bonus points. I find that when I don't use all my points, I actually lose less weight than when I am eating the correct amounts. After my second baby, I ended up losing 44 lbs. in four months.

Some food suggestions:
Low fat string cheese = 1 pt.
Sugar free pudding = 1 pt.
Sugar free jello = 0 pts.
Bran flakes (some are lower in calorie, so look for these) =1 pt.
3/4 cup non-fat milk = 1 pt.
Reduced calorie bread (Sara Lee is great) 2 slices =1 pt.
98% fat free ham slices (for sandwiches) = 1 pt.
2% Kraft cheese slices = 1 pt. If you get the regular slices, it will be 2 pts., so look for the 2% kind.
Hostess mini cupcakes 100 calorie pack...look for chocolate, carrot...these have 1 pt. for the whole pack.
Pringles fat free chips 14 = 1 pt.
Breyers chocolate ice cream (1/2 the fat) 1 cup = 4 points (I eat a cup of ice cream every night!!!)
Whole wheat egg noodles 1 1/2 cups = 3 pts.
When you make rice, use brown rice and instead of using water to boil it in, use chicken broth. Makes it much tastier.
Oh my goodness, I could go on and on...do you want me to?

tracylouella - Monday, 29 September
LOL. Yeah he asks why I always turn off the lights... well maybe cuz I want you to be turned on during sexy time... not turned off. Im sure when he is behind he wouldnt want to see the cottage cheese granny ass staring back at him. LOL

tracylouella - Monday, 29 September
Men just dont get it!

soon2be3 - Monday, 29 September
Did you start Weight Watchers yet? I've been back on for seven weeks now. I have been doing WW for about three years....in between babies. If you need any food selection ideas (low in points), let me know. I have lost 11.6 pounds so far.

Well I started to do the 1 bottle a day and then increase it but she was having a hard time going back and forth from me to the bottle and all she wanted was bottle. I became way engorged because I didnt have time to pump enough. Then Mya got sick so I just made her take the boob and I will try again later...
