Hello! My name is Rachel. My Husband, Ryan, and I have been married for three years as of June 2007. We are expecting our first baby at the very end of October. It was a shock at first, but has turned into such a blessing. :) I struggle with nausea a lot, but other than that, Everything is going very well.

I am just looking for some fellow mothers-to-be who are going through the same things as I am. I have a lot of support from my family, but it's been over two decades since my mom has had babies, and things have changed so much since then, and she can't always remember what it was like to be pregnant. I need some advice and support from people to tell me if what i'm feeling is normal or not!! :)

here we are on our wedding day:

May 16, 2007

So I am 16 weeks and one day pregnant as of this moment. Man, mornings are not fun. Not puking anymore, just feeling sick and not wanting to eat. However, I learned early on, if I DON'T eat, then I WILL puke. At least it's not lasting all day long like it was in the first trimester, but I just want to feel "normal" in the mornings again. I know, I know, I won't be feeling normal for a while. But I just started an even stronger prescription from my doc for the nausea, and even though I think it may be helping a little, it's making me SO CONSTIPATED, i'm just miserable. I'm so used to being VERY regular, so this is quite a bummer. I need to pick up some benefiber.

But anyway, we leave for Ireland on Friday, which is a vacation my family has been planning for over a year. I can't wait!! I'm just kinda sad that I won't be feeling tip-top on the plane ride over. I've been known to have motion sickness on planes...so that mixed with morning sickness sorta has me concerned. Does anyone know if you can take Dramamine during pregnancy? I wonder. That always helps me when I travel. I just want this trip to be perfect, ya know? It's not very often I get to travel overseas.

I am so anxious to feel the baby move, which has not happened yet. Although I am starting to show, which is fun. I will put some belly pics up soon.

Well, I guess that's all I have for now, hopefully my trip goes well! :)

May 30, 2007

Well, I'm back from my trip, and I only puked twice while over there!!! it wasn't that bad, although mornings were tough, I was always feeling well by noon! We had such a great time. It was so nice being on a fun adventure with family. I love my family so much. :) We had so many laughs and so much fun, it was awesome! Feels good to be home in Michigan. I have a doctor's appointment today at 2:00. I wonder what will be the main focus of this appointment. Here's a pic of us on our trip: (almost 17 weeks pregnant):

JUNE 06, 2006

I am SO anxious to find out the gender of this baby!! I scheduled the ultrasound last friday, the 1st of June, and it was scheduled a week from that date. So, I will know on Friday, June 8th, @ 11:45 am. I seriously cannot believe how slow this week is going. I realize that Tomorrow is Thursday and then I will have less than a day to go, but COME ON I just want to get over there right now and do this!!! My mom and my husband, Ryan will be coming along with me, both cannot wait. This will be my mom's first grandbaby, and everyone's so excited!! :)

A few of my concerns/paranoias:

That there will be something wrong with the baby, it will not be healthy. (this is obviously my biggest concern)

That the baby will not cooperate and I will have to wait even longer to find out gender. (worst case scenario would be not knowing until the day it is born!!!) AHHHHH!

That I will not be able to hold the 32oz of water that they expect me to drink 90 minutes before the exam. I have this fear that I will pee my pants while the sonogram is being done! How embarassing would THAT be!!! :)

JUNE 8 2007

Just got back from the ultrasound and.....the ultrasound tech said she thinks... !!!!!!!!!!!!

This is wonderful news!!! My husband and I are soooo happy!!! Of course they said this is not 100%....but the u/s tech said she couldn't see any "boy parts", and in her 30 years experience, she said in her opinion she believes the baby to be a girl!!!! :) U/S pics to come....

August 14, 2007

I have been such a CRYBABY lately. Last week I broke the remote control, and cried for like 20 minutes about it. Last night I screwed up the sugar cookies I was trying to bake, and felt like I could have just bawled about it! This morning, I got all choked up over a country song (yes, I love cheesy songs) and today, after my third or fourth crappy phone call (i answer the phones at work) I literally had to like calm myself down, or I would have started crying on the phone with this agent! I can't believe myself lately. I feel like I'm losing my mind. I've never been this sensitive before, I realize it's the hormones, but I swear I've had about all I can take!!! I just never want to come back to work ever again. But that's a fricken pipe dream, since we'd never survive on my husband's income alone. But man, I really HATE WORKING!

pregnancy due date See how my baby is doing

Message to all This may be interesting to some of you. Seema`s email is seema.modhvadia@rdftelevision.com

Hi there,

I work for a television production company based in the UK . We are currently making a documentary for ITV1 exploring the issues surrounding pregnancy and eating disorders. The film will be a thoughtful and insightful look into this extremely sensitive subject.

We’re in the research stage of our production and very keen to chat to women who are, or have been, pregnant whilst having an eating disorder.

If you’re interested in having a chat or finding out more about our documentary, it would be really great to hear from you. All communication would be in complete confidence.

You can contact me on: seema.modhvadia@rdftelevision.com

1timemommy2be - Tuesday, 2 Oct
you're so lucky you got 3D pics of your babe. i went in at 34 weeks for my last ultrasound and was told that any time after 28 weeks it is very difficult to get a good 3D or 4D pic and so the technician took almost 2 minutes trying to get a pic and then gave up :-( she had me thinking that us being this far along it would be next to impossible to generate an actual 3D or 4D image since the baby so far along.

mouse - Monday, 1 Oct
How are you doing? Any signs she is ready to meet the world?

sclay - Tuesday, 28 Aug
Aww, you are just so sweet! You are adorable yourself and your pics are beautiful!!!

bakerbabymom - Monday, 27 Aug
Wow we do have a lot in common. I think you are carrying the baby higher though. LOL My husband and I will be married for 4 years this November. And he was my highschool sweetheart too.

Kylee_Andeemom - Monday, 27 Aug
You're welcome. Sometimes it's hard to figure things out on this site! It took me forever to learn how to use the photo book! :) I absolutely LOVE the furniture and the bedding for her room! It looks so cute! It'll be amazing once you get the actual bedding in there! The rug is the cutest thing ever! The furniture in Ryan's room is now going through baby #3. The crib was Kylee's, then Andee's, and now his...same with the changing table. I actually found that I never used the changing table with either one of my girls so I just took the pad off and I use it to display things. I still need to get another crib matress. Kylee took hers with her when she got her 'big girl bed' and then Andee took hers too so now we have to buy him one! I think my brother is getting it for me. At least that's the plan! When are you having your showers? This weekend we're going out of town and then next weekend is mine. I can't wait. Yes, it's my third baby and third shower! Some people think that's really weird but in my family the saying goes 'new baby, new shower'. Boy am I glad!! :) Well, enjoy the rest of your day!

Kylee_Andeemom - Monday, 27 Aug
HI! When I was adding the photos there was a little thing that said 'go to your room / Ryan's nursery'...I just clicked on that and added the other pic. I read your update about being emotional. It's just par for the course, trust me. I can cry over anything. I woke up so grumpy yesterday morning that it took all I had not to just walk out the door and leave my kids with the hubby and go drive around some where! It's nothing that anyone did either - I was the only one awake! And the country songs - HA! - FORGET ABOUT IT! I'm the SAME WAY! :) And this is my third pregnancy! You'd think I'd be used to it, huh? My daughter started PreK this morning and I thought I was going to have a panic attack putting her on the bus! Thank God my hubby went into work late. Oh, and about the you quitting your job thing...you can do it. Trust me. I made about $10K MORE than my hubby when I quit work. It was a HUGE blow, trust me, but we managed. We sold his truck, turned off our internet and cable, stopped eating out, stopped buying unnecessary things every week, etc. It was tough but we made it work. We sold our hose this past Sept and moved out in the country to a much smaller house payment (plus he has a new job now and makes more than I did when I quit work). We have cable and internet now but we still only have one car and we only eat out about once a week, we go to the movies every once in a while. We just do things that don't require a lot of money. If you add up the expense of day care and stuff you would be suprised at how much you'd save by NOT WORKING! Around here quality daycare for a newborn is at least $150 A WEEK!!! That's $600 a month! Who can afford that?!? Anywho...now that I've talked your head off when you only asked a simple question...:) Have a great day!

mouse - Thursday, 23 Aug
We share the same due date - besides emmotional how are you feeling??? I hope great!

maryanne - Tuesday, 14 Aug
AHAHA! actually i have TWO really light ones on my belly.... i swear the light must have caught em cuz u can't see them in this pic. but they are DEF there. =( its depressing isnt it. =(

Kylee_Andeemom - Tuesday, 14 Aug
I think you're right on track. My aunt was due in January when I was pregnant with Andee and I was due in May. I was bigger than she was! She never really even looked that pregnant. Even the morning that she went in to have Lexie she looked like she was only about 5 months! She carried her more inside and I seem to carry my babies all in the front (and in the butt!) I wouldn't worry...If you're too big your doc will tell you!

Kylee_Andeemom - Tuesday, 14 Aug
Hey Rachel! Don't worry about the size of your belly! Everyone carries differently. With my first little girl I was HUGE! I looked like I was having three babies instead of one! I'll post a pic of my 29.3wk belly now and you can take a look if you want!

londoner - Tuesday, 14 Aug
I have just had a look at your belly, I don't think you are overly big, just around the right size for 29 weeks.

jlbutterfly - Tuesday, 14 Aug
My belly is about as big as yours maybe a bit bigger. I have seen bigger, though. I think we're right on target....Congrats!!!

dawn2820 - Thursday, 26 Jul
congratulations on your pregnancy! weird seeing your names, my cousin is named Paul Jackson!!

mom2belc - Tuesday, 17 Jul
Hey there! I'm so happy for you and your Husband!!! Last night was the first time you could actually see my little boy kicking and moving. My husband and I were watching a movie, but missed most of it because the Baby had us mesmerized and we kept staring at my belly! Congrats again!!!

marie r - Tuesday, 17 Jul
So excited for you. I knew it would be soon. enjoy!

marie r - Monday, 16 Jul
Well last night was the first night I think if my husband would have been awake that he could've actually felt it from the outside. I feel kicks and moves all day long but last night was the first... and it happened twice. So I would say soon. Although I have some extra padding between me and the baby so it took me longer than most. I hope its soon for you. Take Care

BrittanyEdwards - Monday, 16 Jul
Ok, I'm not sure about the 11 yr. old..That's wrong. It's awful. I didn't know what sex was when I was 11!! What the crap?! Anyway, go check out mommie2b ..she's the 'faker' I'm talking about.
