Tuesday, 8 July I just read your post about being induced. I was induced with my #1 (I was 17 days late--so yes...it can get worse!)...then went spontaneously with the other 3. I received epidurals with each with good effect (for the most part--there were some spotty uncovered places, mostly on my right side)....
I will tell you that I had IV pain medication with #2 (who was my most painful UNTIL I had this last one--good Jesus he hurt!)...Nubaine...and I got it only because the anesthesiologist wasn't getting there fast enough.
It did nothing but make me high. WIth this last one, it was the same thing with the anesthiologist (my little honey decided to come when everyone else decided to come--there were 23 woman in labor on the second day of a full moon....the day before, they delivered 62 women--the L&D nurses were on auto-pilot!)....they kept asking me if I wanted some morphine but I knew that it wouldn't work (I'm also a nurse, but in critical care)...morphine doesn't work on evolving pain==it works when the pain has already happened.
I refused, telling them it would just make me high. But not high enough to deal wiht the pain (I don't think you can get high enough!)....
I think they gave it to me anyway because I started saying REALLY stupid things at the end--like stuff you'd never say, describing my body in terms I wouldn't use outside my bedroom with my husband....
Good luck--M
ps I went 17 days with Nick, 6 days with Christina, 10 days with Lily and was one minute early with Pete....you just never know! And my pain relief response was different with each of them hooahpreggers -
Sunday, 6 July This little girl was breech! We found out about 32ish weeks? around 37 she turned, and at week 40 she had breeched herself again! Silliness. saraha -
Thursday, 3 July Oh, I didn't realize you were that far along. I thought you were just barely 40 weeks. Yah, if they are in there for too long, the placenta gets crappy, and there is a greater chance for meconium. (when the baby takes a poo) and that can be bad. Well, good luck to you and I hope it works out for you guys. It will!

time Good luck on ur little one.God Bless! tto -
Wednesday, 2 July Thanks! You can do it- but it hurts. The pain is temporary and you aren't hurting your body. Just be determined if it truly is important to you to go drug free. The baby was a lot more alert and I was able to move around and walk afterwards, which is nice. But if you do get something, don't beat yourself up. Labor is tough. luvbaby -
