He is the definition of a mans man. He plays semi-pro football. But really he has a heart and a soft side that I get to see, even more as the baby grows in me. He proposed to me on July 12th 2007 it was a complete suprise. He was in talks with my mom and told her to have the camera ready he came through the door got on his knee and asked me to marry him!! I dream of the day my wedding comes all the time. I see a small intimate beach ceremony. verrrrrrry romantic <3 first will come baby then comes marriage lol

We found out during my 17th week that we were gonna be having a lil girl!!!! To some people this may be a lilttle early but I had to go into the hosital for an emergancy ultrasound because I had a tremendous amount of bleeding. The technician was very qualified and spent lots of in depth time going over what she saw when she saw it. It was amazing!!!! She pointed out the 3 white lines which she said were the labia and said she was 80% sure. The bleeding turned out to be marginal previa which scared the crap out of me. I did hear that a lot of pregnancies in the early stages develop this but that was no comfort. I was to come back for a re-check in a few weeks to see if the condition had gone away and thank the lord it had. It moved sooo far away from my cervix I felt blessed! Man was I scared of a possible c-section.The sex of our baby was confirmed at my 24 week scan the technician at that point said she was absolutly positive and again pointed out the labia. I hope they are right because I already have so much stuff for a lil girl and her nursery is all set for the most part.

My first doctors appt was when I was a lil over 5 weeks along. I didnt get to see anything on an ultrasound because she said it would be to soon she suggested that I wait and make another appt for 2 weeks out. Everything was going fine and she started me on rx prenatal vitamins, Drew my blood and checked my urine. At 7 weeks I got to see this lilttle thing that to me looked like a blob but it was the most special thing Ive felt in a very long time. Im sure yall can relate. No heartbeat could be heard. From this point on I was extremly sick to the point where all I did was lay on the sofa and try to sleep so I didnt have to expeiernce what was going on. I tried the saltine crackers the juice and everything else my OB said to try but nothing eased the sickness. I became very sick around certain smells and extremly moody! She suggested that I could be put on nausea medication but we decided to hold off because I wasnt vomitting everyday like some people do and I had already been put on a couple of antibiotics for various infections. I was patient and at 16 weeks along my nausea was gone! praise the lord!!!

At around the 16 week mark my OB and I decided to go through with the testing for birth defects and genetic abnormalities. This was probably the second scariest moment of the entire pregnancy I didnt know what I was going to think if it came back abnormal. Nothing was found. And again im on my knees to thank God! For some reason this was also the point where we first heard the heartbeat kinda late in the game but we discovered that the baby was soooo far towards my spine thats probably why I wasnt able to hear it before and pick up strong movemnts. At around 17 weeks is when I started to feel the flutters in my stomach this was the weirdest feeling ever as I actually thought it was gas at first but then realized shortly after it was my baby girl! :) I started feeling good ole hard kicks when i was about 21 weeks...lemme tell you thats the best feeling ever to actually know your lil one is okay instead of worrying all the time. I did have a scare at the 25 week mark where i hadnt felt her kick at all for 3 goin on 4 days so i had to go in for an emergancy visit which was the scariest moment ever!! They hooked me up to the fetal monitoring machine for 30 minutes and found her heartbeat to be as strong as ever in the 150's phew! My lil girl already likes things her way and dosent like to cooperate because she kept moving from a spot where they could find her heartbeat so they had to keep restarting the timing. I had one yes one major contaction suring this time which i didnt feel but it shot of the page lol. Daddy was able to feel her move around this time the 25 week mark as well. My mom was the first person to actually see her move which was weird cause all of sudden my tummy jumped away from me lol. Keep that comin! Everyone says im gonna have a big baby. I sure hope not because im scared of pain and c-sections. The last ultrasound I had measured her at 2 pounds 1 oz at the 25 week mark so she was measuring 2 weeks ahead but then I went into my doctors office 2 weeks later and she was measuring right on schedule so im not sure if I have a chunky monkey on my hands or a baby that grows super fast in the beginning and slows down either way ill love her more than I can even imagine! <3

It started with my body just feeling different. I noticed the implantation bleeding.Then came the extreme nausea, vomitting, headaches that caused pain ive never experienced in my life and fatigue like no other!!! Finally at 16 weeks the all day sickness vanished but the headaches continued...along came my appetite as well...anything someone mentioned i instantly wanted lol. Perfume started to turn me off and i hated everyone for wearing it and i was extremly emotional along with the terrible mood swings dr.jekyl and Ms. Hyde commericals made me cry. I began using the restroom 2-3 times a night. My sides started hurting and I couldnt sleep. As of now 30 weeks I have terrible heartburn a burning like feeling in my abdomen sharp pains in my groin area and exhaustion...joys of pregnancy ehh.

Get your bags packed early just in case you need them. Make sure your partner has a phone available when he's away because this baby just might come early. January 11 2008(30weeks6days)-Today is my moms 51st birthday!! whoohoo we went out and got our nails done and the lil one was kickin like crazy she must of wanted to join us lol. Today I had my 30 week check up. I did my 1 hour glucose test as a repeat because I had originally done the 3 hour glucose test at 24 weeks because they thought I might have GD because I was gaining weight too fast(I passed that one with flying colors). They wanted to do a f/u to make sure nothing had changed, I will find out the results of this one when I go for my 32 week check-up. Dr.Maplethorpe was very happy with my progress thus far. She asked me who the Nevaeh's pediatrician was going to be and I said her! which I am thankful for because I didnt really have to search for one and I already know how comfortable I am with her and how capable she is of taking care of my baby after birth. She measured me and actually "felt" the baby by pressing on my stomach and she said shes head down already! She also mentioned that if someones baby is breech at this point it isnt a concern because they still have lots of wiggle room and it should happen that they turn by 36 weeks. Nevaeh had a very strong heartbeat and all is well. Next visit we will be going over my birth plan . Also daddy was able to hear her heartbeat by listening to my stomach for the first time!!!!

January 13 2008-Today I took the tour of the hospital/birthing suites, this really made having a baby become more of a relaity to me. When we first got there and all the pregnant mommies were together Nevaeh started rollin around in there like crazy I thought she was gonna come out because she knew where we were lol. The tour was amazing though they took us through the tirage are, birthing suites and postpartum suites, all of which are very nice and all are private rooms with private jacuzzi tubs and showers ooo lala. They showed us how everything will go for a normal vaginal birth including baby warmers fetal monitor machines etc. They showed us where the operating rooms were for sections and they showed us the nursery that they hardly ever use because babies room in with mom unless there is a medical issue. All in all it was a good experience. Only 8 weeks 6 days to go!!

January 20 2008-Today I had my first official prenatal class. It was a 2.5 hour course on breastfeeding. It was very helpful and reassured me that yes I can do this no matter what anyone else says or the experiences they have had in the past. I recommend a breastfeeding class even if you think you are a pro. The class had very good visuals we even got to watch a movie so I could pretty much see first hand how it goes. They had helpful information on every aspect even bottle feeding. The pregnancy is going well I really am ready to get it over with as I can hardly sleep even when im dog tired. Im very uncomfortable in almost anything I do and my stomach can no longer fit into restaurant table seating lol. The LO is moving great . Only 7 weeks 6days to go!

January 25 2008-Today I had my 32 week appt the doctor actually determined that she was wrong and I was right about my EDD which is truly March 15 2008 so that puts me at 32 weeks 6 days. Everything was going well we brought in our birthplan and I had only gained 3 pounds whoo hoo!!! No unusual symptoms besides starting minor cramping feelings in my lower stomach and the heartburn. The doctor was listening to the heartbeat and she said it was unsually high at over 170 bpm so they hooked me up to the belly belts(external fetal monitoring) machine for over 40 minutes we had trouble keeping her awake so they made daddy yell at her to wake her up lol everything turned out to be fine until she measured me and she said I was measuring at close to full term yikes!!!So they sent me to the hospital to get one of those intense U/S and thank god evrything turned out to be fine. The baby is long but she was weighing in at 4pounds 12 ounces which would put her close to the 60 percentile, which is better than the 95 percentile where she was at around 25 weeks. They said my measurment was probably due to amniotic fluid that she just digested into the placenta.

January 26 2008-Today I am 33 weeks! I understand how people say they are ready to get the baby the heck out of them! I am feeling really tired of being pregnant but I know im not ready to see my little one yet as its too soon. My hips are killing me I cant find any position thats comfortable to sleep in even with the millions of pillows my heartburn is crazy! and Im getting some headaches and swelling which I told my doctor about and she said everything looked fine. Today I had my baby shower!!! whoo hoo I was so nervous. I got alot of clothes and blankets and socks stuff like that for my lil girl. I will be having a second baby shower in 2 weeks for my fiances half of the family and his freinds. Im so excited only 7 weeks to go hopefully a little less. :) The best blessing of my baby shower was a pink knitted blanket my aunt rose gave to me I opened it and I said this looks like a blanket my grandma would work on. She told me Ravae this is the last blanket your grandma made before she passed away! I burst into tears because me and my grandma had a special bond that no one had. I cant beleive almost 4 years later to the date I got a gift from my grandma for my baby girl...the question is how did she know?

February 9 2008-Today I had my 2nd baby shower! It was a blast nice and relaxing. We played raffle games instead of the usual baby shower games. We basically have everything we need now. We got a nice craddle swing, lots of diapers, blankets, baby care items. The Bed is all put together and the nursery looks FAB!! :) 5 weeks to go.

February 12 2008- I had my 35 week appt today. I am 35 weeks 3 days. The dotor was very happy with my progress everything is beautiful. The baby had a heartbeat of 156. I had to do my GBS test today which was a little weird results will be back within 5 days. We went over our birth plan and basically everything we decided upon she supports us! I have a wonderful doctor and Im so happy! She wants me to stay pregnant until at least 37 weeks but she said if something happens before then they will take good care and not to worry. I have a history of early births in my family and have been experiencing pre labor symptoms. Baby is still head down and she is more active than ever! We can see her "rolling" around in my tummy. I now start to go every week for mt prenatal care.

February 25 2008-Today I had my 37 week check up. I actually lost a pound whoo hoo!!! Everything is going great! Babies heartbeat is in the 160's almost borderline but she wasnt concerned baby is still head down which is always nice to hear. My provider also checked my cervix she said its still high but its soft she said its average for this time point. Im a lil disapointed about that but thats okay because I think she will still come a lil bit early. Ive been having tremendous amounts of pressure down in the va jay jay region lol. My doctor is going to do a membrane sweep next week if I dont go into labor before then.

March 3 2008-Baby is 8 pounds by doctors guess eeeks! shes head down still which is nice and heart beat was in the 140's. I am 38 weeks 2 days as of today and cant wait to get this lil one out! I hope I dont have to be induced.
