My profile

Hi, I'm Rachel. I'm currently 16 weeks 3 days with my third daughter. My first daughter Mackenzie was born at 35 weeks and is a happy, healthy, very ACTIVE and ENERGETIC little girl. My second, McKenna at 29 weeks but passed away due to a genetic disorder. Due to the 2 previous preterm births and the gene that Patrick and I carry this had been a very rough pregnancy. I have had 3 ultrasounds already and a CVS and fortunately all of out test results have come back perfect!!! I will be starting 17-P injections next week and frequent ultrasounds to monitor my cervix and hopefully I will carry this one to term.

I can't believe I'm almost 21 weeks!! I started my shots today and it wasn't actually that bad. I ended up having my boyfriend give me the shot, I just couldn't do it.. I had another ultrasound about a week and a half ago and she looks PERFECT. My dr has decided that since everything is going so well that we probably won't need the ultrasounds at the end and she will just keep an eye on everything when i go in for my routine check-ups.

my worry was that at first i got tons. and then all of a sudden it was like nothing. i am going to speak with my dr tomorrow to see if there is anything i can do or whatever to ensure i have enough milk. i really dont want to give it up. i am glad to hear you are still preggo. hopefully your lil one will stick around in there for a while longer. hey maybe you will go overdue! they kept telling me any day and i ended up abrupting. i probably could have made it a few more weeks if it hadnt been for that. keep that positive attitude and it will happen!

You're not being too personal at all! Ummm... as far as regret... I definitely think about it ALOT. I regret doing it as far as I don't feel like I made the decision, and like you said I'm not sure I want more kids either in this world we live in today especially, but not being able to and not wanting to are SOO different. I find myself not wanting my new baby now (who is 3 months) to grow up. I mean you never want your kids to grow up, but I don't want him to roll over or crawl like he is... because I know it's all like a snowball after that. Everything happens so fast and to think this is my LAST baby that I'll ever get to have and take care of is really hard. However, I feel like I wouldn't want another child if my husband didn't. He is the "brains" and I'm the "go from my gut". He says, "We can't afford more kids", I say "We could do it" you know that type of stuff. I'm the dreamer! Like I said in my original post, make sure you're doing it for you or if you are doing it for your partner, you can't ever throw it back in his face. Sometimes I say little things here and there, and he just laughs them off, but I know if I ever was to actually pin the blame on him, he would be very hurt. It's a very hard decision, just weigh all your options, and if you need to talk some more feel free to. Good luck with everything!

yeah I know! Thats why I have asked about her 2 times. She used to be on here everyday like the rest of us. As far as I knew the last time she was on she didn't have any problems but it's weird how she vanished.

Oh goodness. I haven't had to have the magnesium sulfate but I've heard how horrid it is. What set you off into preterm labour - do they know?

You are right about keeping sane! We just have to keep reminding ourselves there is an end to this. I've been on for 5 weeks now and I'm slowly getting into a sort of schedule which makes the day go faster. Now you are at home hopefully it'll start feeling more bearable.

Hx

Hey there - sorry to hear you are stuck on hospital bedrest....must be so boring. Does your computer have a DVD player? I've ended up catching up on all those 'must see' series I missed first time round. 24 was brilliant...next up mad men. I had meant to do lots of good stuff like write a book while on bedrest but I've found bestrest has left me brainless so TV is a lifesaver!

Hi hon, regarding your question on Adderall and pregnancy, this is what I found: "FDA pregnancy category C. This medication may be harmful to an unborn baby. It could also cause premature birth, low birth weight, or withdrawal symptoms in a newborn if the mother takes Adderall during pregnancy. Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or plan to become pregnant during treatment. Adderall can pass into breast milk and may harm a nursing baby. Do not use Adderall without telling your doctor if you are breast-feeding a baby.

Long-term use of Adderall can slow a child's growth. Tell your doctor if the child using Adderall is not growing or gaining weight properly."

I found it at this site : http://www.drugs.com/adderall.html

hope this helps! But it looks to me like you should definitely stop!

oh i understand that feeling. i had to quit working and taking care of my house. the other day i sat on the couch and organized my papers and magazines, and cleaned off my coffee table just to feel like i could still do something lol. i still fold the laundry and things like that. my husband is getting used to having to do things. he even yells at me when i get up to go to the bathroom. now im not sure if i could do all the things i used to do. its a hard transition, but its important.

mrsdenney - Sunday, 19 October
i cant imagine having to rest with a 3 year old in the house! i am restricted to only get up for bathroom and shower, until the baby gets here, started at 17 weeks. lets hope that doesnt happen to you. hey if its a good deal its a good deal. cant pass that up. lol.

mrsdenney - Sunday, 19 October
true it does get boring. i have been doing it for 10 weeks. we even got a ps3 to entertain me. i too have a craigslist obsession. lol. maybe its just your body saying hey you need to take a break. or your baby likes to play games lol.

mrsdenney - Saturday, 18 October
that is a little confusing. have they stopped? i would probably take it easy. maybe you were in a little bit of labor but it decided ehh not right now lol.

Aydansmommy - Tuesday, 14 October

I think this is where being extremely stubborn can come in handy ha. I am a self confessed cow when i want to be and i can ignore my DH when he is being unreasonable untill he realises. It must be hard for you, i wont patronise you with lots of sympathy and mushy shit, but im a good listener if you ever want to chat, vent, bitch off lol.

Is you fella in the forces then?
