My favorite preggie pic! 34 Weeks with my older sons...

March 19, 2008 - We had our ultrasound today to find out that we are having a boy! All looked well, but the baby looks bigger than he should, I am 19 weeks and 5 days pregnant and she said he looks to be about 21 weeks along! I may have to go back for another ultrasound in a month to check him out again - we'll have to wait to see what my Dr. says!

We found out just before Christmas that we are pregnant. Now that we are out of the "freak out" stage, I am starting to get pretty excited! This is baby #3 for me and baby #1 for him.

Funny story: Allen and I are engaged and were planning a wedding for August 8, 2008 and we just found out that we are due on August 9, 2008! (When I went to ER on 12-30-07 and had an Ultrasound they changed my due date to August 8, 2008!) Wedding plans have come to a screeching halt!! We will be choosing a new wedding date so we will be getting married when the baby is anywhere from 6 months to a year old. Any wedding date suggestions?

Hi Renee, I had a CVS done because it was part of the tests that are done for mothers that are of Advanced maternal age (AMA), which are mothers that are over 35 years. I do know of mothers that have been under 35 years that have had the test done that were under 35, but they had preexisting medical conditions which warranted that type of testing being done. Chances are that if you are under 35 and in good health with no prior history in your family of genetic issues then that is probably why your doctor did not tell you about the test.

Me and my hubby found out about the test because we went through genetic counseling for AMA. The CVS test (Chorionic Villus Sampling test) is a test that is done at 10-13.5 weeks of pregnancy. It checks for abnormalities in chromosome number and most abnormalities in chromosome structure. It detects at least 99% of chromosome abnormalities.

For the test procedure itself the doctor will insert a needle into either the stomach or the cervix depending on where the fetus is located and will take a sample of the Chorionic Villus for sampling. In my case the doc took a sample from my stomach area. When the doc inserted the needle it did hurt, but he did it so fast it was over in a very short period of time. :)

thanks we are hopeing that this is a good one i had an u/s on 12/7 and 12/10 and i go for another on 1/8 to make sure we are still ok and see the heart beat.

Same here, I'm fine in my regular jeans right now. I looked at my old pictures and it doesn't appear that I showed with either of the boys until 4-5 months, so hopefully it will be the same. I don't intend on telling my work right away!

Hey Renee! How have you been feeling? I've noticed a slight improvement but still have to wash my clothes with unscented detergent to avoid upchucking. I'm stil finding that no particular food appeals to me... talk soon!

Girl dust to you too. Thanks for the comment. Looks like we both have 'older' boys and partners named Allen! I'm a litte nevrous about doing this again, but very excited too. Just read the rest of your page. I'm in the same boat as you, this is my third baby, Allen's 1st, so maybe the girl thing will happen this time. As far as an idea about a wedding, we did a joining ceremony so the boys could be involved and feel they were a part of the event. They loved it. Good luck to you and Allen!

I was laying down with a bit of a tummy ache with my boyfriend, at midnight he just jumped over and kissed me, it was sweet and unexpected of him. My work has been nicer to me, trying to set things up for me, at a theatre we are always on our feet. Just take it easy :) And Happy New Year :)

Wow you and I BOTH had to go to the ER, I went Saturday for spotting, and cramps, they checked me, took blood, oh gosh the things they do, they took two different ultra sounds, and the baby is perfect! My due date was brought to august 7th, lol, but i got to hear the heart beat and see my little blue berry, I am happy to hear your baby is fine :) I think this season is just very stressful. I am to take more time for bed rest, my boss was worried about me.

Hi Renee! Thanks so much for your support and reassurances. I can't believe I'm not the only one who can't stand the smell of clean laundry, perfume or even favorite shampoos!!! What's up with that? Well, you must be an old pro at this by now :o) I on the other hand have no clue what to expect. I am so relieved to hear that the queasiness should taper off in a few weeks. I miss eating and at only 103 lbs, I can't afford to lose any... Wow you are from Maine! We moved to California from Burlington, VT last year. Did you guys get much snow up there this year? (okay - that might be the dumbest question of the year). Anyway, warmest wishes and please keep me posted on your pregnancy and let me know when you can finally wash your hair without passing out heheheh (I feel your pain sister).

My pants are too tight now, and my mother told me today that my belly was a bit pudgy, haha, well i get sick off and on, but it seems to be getting better, today i went to the hospital for some spotting, but, the baby is 100% FINE :) I am so happy, I got to see its heart beat and hear it :)
