Fuzzi Bunz at Nurtured Family

May 21, 2008

Well had my doctors appointment today.. doctor says i am 100% effaced and 3cm dilated, he did a membrane sweep to see if that would get things going...later in the afternoon my contractions were getting to 2-3 mins apart for 4 hours.. finally went in to labour and delivery at 10:30 pm today and no progress.. still 3 cms..I can't even believe this is happening.. it is taking so long!! I am having so many contractions..I have to take gravol at night to make me sleep or else I throw up all night long..oh i just feel like this is never going to actually happen for me....

May 13, 2008

Well was in labour and delivery last night.. still only dialted 1 cm and 85% effaced...had a doc appointment today and now I am 2 cm and almost completely effaced..making progress just very slowly...having contractions all day today.. the doc said she thought I would either deliver today or tomorrow.. it's so not looking like that is happening though..ahhhh we will have to see....

May 3, 2008

Well my baby shower is tomorrow.. I am finally off bed rest and able to do what I want...had to go to the hospital yesterday cause I pulled the ligaments around my uterus.. ahh it hurt so bad..I am 75% effaced and 1 cm Dialated..also lost my plug yesterday...YUK.. so it could be a few days or a few weeks I guess we will have to wait and see... Baby Jaiden is doing great though.. strong heart beat and wiggling around still... can't wait to meet him.

April 24,2008

Got back from my doc appointment/ Ultrasound...Baby Jaiden is weighing in at 6 pounds 7 ounces.. my goodness he is a big boy.. I posted a new ultrasound pic.. I am so in love with my little man....I cannot wait to meet him..he is my world! I am moving in two days.. yay I can finally get some stuff done for my little miracle boy...

April 10,2008

I had to redo the glucose test today! They lost my results from the first time I did it...ahh I was not impressed.. thats my vent....on a good note baby Jaiden is weighing in at 5 pounds 1 ounce and doc says he is perfect for his dates and that 5 pounds is perfect for 33 weeks just incase anyone is wondering......I love my little man.. he is so worth every minute of everything i am going through right now

March 18,2008

Well I just got home from the hospital...i was in there for five days..i wemt into labour on thursday night... they stopped the labour and now i am home on in home care...a nurse comes to my place to check on me and the baby... Jaiden is doing great though..3 pounds 6 ounces...my cervix is funneling and i am 75% effaced but not dialating.. so i think he will hold on a little while longer....

March 2, 2008

Well I am back from my trip to Florida! Baby enjoyed the trip lots.. he was kicking and bouncing around the whole time...he kept me up all night!! LOL I am getting very big.. people were asking me if I was ready to deliver!!! Ahhh and i still have almost three months to go! LOL oh well...I am just very glad the baby was good and stayed put (I really didn't want to deliver in a far away place.. and pay..seeing as how I live in Canada and don't have to pay anything!!)

February 17, 2008

Well 26 weeks tomorrow...I had my ultrsasound on friday and I am very happy to say my amniotic fluid is just perfect and my cervix is still long and closed!! I think he gonna hold on for me in there...Yay...My little man is actually measuring a week and a half ahead of his dates but they don't want to change my due date cause at this point I guess babies grow at different rates..I am so glad my little man is doing great...His heart rate was 141 BPM at the ultrasound as well...And yay I actually get to go on my trip to florida in 5 days.. my doc says it's ok!!! I am very excited... New ultrasound pics in my photobook as well!!

February 14, 2008

Yay..it's Valentines Day..we found out our our appointment yesterday that everything is looking ok... I am going to be having an ultrasound every two week to make sure baby is growing ok and to make sure my amniotic fluid level stays up...cervix is still closed and long but they will be monitoring that closely too...Oh well that means I get to see my baby boy every two weeks...I'm just so relieved I am finally getting the medical attention I need!!

February 3,2008

Yay February...24 weeks soon....We are thinking our Baby Boys name will be Jaiden James.....but not completely sure...I bought a summer infant Heartrate monitor and i love it.. i hear him kick with it all the time but if i catch him napping i can hear his heartbeat..so cool.. can't wait till May!!!!

January 30,2008

Had my doctors appointment today.. baby's heart rate was about 140 BPM... he is happy and healthy.. i got my ultrasound results back from my 20 week scan and everything is perfect....I love my baby boy so much...my uterus is measuring at 26 weeks though so i dont know what that means.. i might be having a huge baby..lol My contractions have slowed down a lot and my cervix is still completely closed...Yay!!!

January 27, 2008

Well i was in the hospital till 12 am last night..having regular contractions...they cannot figure out why i am getting them. They send a sample to find out if maybe it is caused by a UTI.. so we will see...the contractions are not dialating my cervix at all so that is a very good thing!!!I need my little boy to hold on in there and at least try and make it to 30 weeks.. im really nervous but trying to relax as best i can!! I have another appointment next week so we will see how it goes.. please keep my little boy in your prayers!!! Thanks. hope everyone is doing well..

January 16, 2008

Please help me pick a name for my baby boy!! VOTE on my Name List

January 11, 2008

It's a BOY!!! yay... my boyfriend and I are so excited. I can't believe how much I love my little boy already...He is very active and the ultrasound showed that he is doing very well and i guess he is a cubby baby! LOL His belly is very round!! All i know is he is so cute!! I can't wait till I get to meet him.

January 2,2008

Baby is kicking now (kinda hard sometimes!!!) I definately know that the baby likes going to the movie theatre!! LOL I am so excited for May!!!!!

December 20, 2007

Yay, I get to have my ultrasound on January 11th..I am so excited. We hope everything is moving along just as it should and hope the baby is doing great. I just really want a healthy baby! Getting bigger by the day now...or so it seems. My baby flutters are becoming closer and closer to kicks.. I can't wait till my baby hauls off and gives me a good boot to the belly!

i totally agree with you that it is expensive to circumsize but if it were me i would get it done because then its something your son doesn't have to worry about when he's an adult. also once he reaches 4 yrs old someone l have to teach him how to keep that area really clean and be shown how to pull the extra skin back to clean it good. this happened with my step-brother, his mom didn't get him circumsized at birth because of the expense but because he couldn't keep the area clean enough he ended up getting an infection down there and at 5 yrs old had to get the circumcision done regardless otherwise it would just keep getting infected. it was the worst experience for him because like at birth they don't put you out they just freeze it. you could imagine what kind of trauma he went through being 5 and being able to see and feel what was going on. but it is still a choice that is up to the parent. i hope maybe i made your decision easier.

xobeckyxo - Wednesday, 7 May
Hello! So about the waiting to get circumcised.. I had a friend at work whose parents couldn't afford the surgery when he was born so he never got circumcised. When he was 24 he made the decision that he wanted to have it done and he was worried that he was going to be in all kinds of pain and misery. Well I saw him a week later and he said it didn't really hurt and it was already almost totally healed to the point that he could "use" it LOL. He said it was way less pain and misery than he thought and healed very quickly. I guess all I am saying is that if you do decide to wait it doesn't mean it will be more painful for the child..and the doctors will be giving him his pain meds anyway. We are having a girl but we discussed circumcision..I wouldn't really want to do it but my husband is all for it. I would just want to leave that decision up to my son and if he wants it done he can have it done later on in life at his personal choice...but i KNOW my husband would never go for that !!! Everything will be just fine for your little man, good luck!

Hey I know this is a little late but I just wanted to tell you to do some serious research before you go through with the circumsision. a friend of mine got her son done and went through tons of complications. They have now told her that her son will continue to have problems unless he undergoes a series of surgery as he grows... I didnt think the vanity was worth it after that. It looked extremely painful for the little guy. But if you do chose to go through with it. I wish you and your little one the best!! :)

We had my son circumcised on the eighth day as they do bilblically. They are supposed to have the highest tolerance for pain and their resistance to infection is supposed to peak around that time. Our pediatrician also does not do them so we had to go to a stranger, but figured he had to be experienced since he was one of only a couple docs that did them! Our son had "a difficult circumcision" as the doctor put it (I wouldn't know the difference!) and needed a little extra TLC for the week afterward, but all in all everything healed nicely and nothing is the worse for wear. :) I would just recommend that if you are really nervous about it all to let your husband be the one that stays with him while it is done. They start crying right away, but it is just because they strap them down to hold them still - not because they are in pain. Of course they gave him a local anesthetic, too. But, it is hard to listen to...or maybe both of you can be there giving your little guy support. Just know that after it is all over and after a few days have passed and everything is healing nicely you will probably never think of it again. I hadn't until reading posts about it up here! Good luck!

Whitney - Wednesday, 7 May
Hi- I felt that way too before- we could not decide about circumcision and i was so scared it will hurt him! I researched it and asked my doctor and friends who did it. they all say it is so simple, smooth, and so much easier to keep infections away in the future. so we are going to do it. my doctor said 99% of boys born at our hospital have it done. my friend has a 6 month old and they did it and they said he did not seem bothered by it, and it was all healed in a week. good luck deciding! either way, it will be fine! people do both!

mommy4babyboy511 - Wednesday, 7 May
Hi. I was also torn with the idea of curcumcising our son. I eventually washed my hands of the decision and told my husband it was up to him. He was all for it for all the same reasons everyone always says. People will make fun of him if he isn't. It will be strange if we don't look the same. Etc, Etc. However, one night on these boards someone posted a link to the on YouTube and it was a three parter talking about the process. My husband sat down to watch it with me and it changed his mind about the whole idea. To each his own, of course, but you might want to check that video out. It certainly includes some information that would be good to know before deciding to perform unnessecary surgery on a newborn baby. Good Luck!

Not sure how it's done everywhere else but all of the area hospitals in Ohio will have your OB/GYN do it. They are trained and do a fine job. So someone from your practice should come the day before or the day you are leaving the hospital and will do it. If it's done right (with pain meds) then most times babies won't cry. Even if they do cry it's for a short time. Babies are so resilient. Talk to your OB. Sometimes you may need to see a urologist outpatient if you wait. Hope this helps!

babybehappy - Wednesday, 7 May
Hi Rikki. I just read your post about circumcision and I pretty much feel the same way you do. But I decided to let my husband make the final decision only because he is a male. I have no idea what it is like being a man therefore, I felt like my husband would be the best person to make that decision. I just put all my trust into his feelings about it. I hope this helps and I hope you are feeling well. :)

babyschaffer - Wednesday, 7 May
I really can't speak on much except the fact that I know if I was a guy I would want it done. I am having a girl and I am a female of course but I remember kids in High School making fun of boys who wernt circumsized and i also remember hearing stuff in college about it. I also know that there is more cause for infection when not circumsized because of the bacteria that can get caught up under the skin if not cleaned properly. Only my opinion but if I was having a boy I would have it done and I would do it now because he won't remember it and won't have to deal with the humiliation later in life. I'm sure your husband feels the same he doesn't want his son being made fun of cause of his pee pee later on, also as a female have you ever thought of later on when he wants to become sexually active I know its a ways away but what would you think when u saw it that way??? Im not trying to step on toes just giving an honest opinion I really hope it helps and sorry if I offended you in any way it isn't meant to be taken that way just try to get you a look in every direction before you and him make such an important decision.

MAGGIEMAE - Wednesday, 7 May
I also have been going back and forth on circumcision with my son that is due soon. I know it’s not medically necessary and I get so upset at the thought of my newborn going through pain. BUT I have decided to go with is b/c my husband is the guy and he really feels strongly about it. It is supposed to be easier to keep clean and keep infection away. And its kind of a guy thing that I felt he would understand better then me. I know that most men are circumcised and I don’t want my son to feel embarrassed when he is the only one in the “locker room” with the different looking penis! That may sound shallow but that’s something I think about. I have heard from a lot of people on this site that the baby sometimes doesn’t even react to the pain and they don’t remember it of course. It’s really a personal opinion but that’s how I feel about it. Good luck with your decision and I’m sure it will work out great either way.

KarenJ - Wednesday, 7 May
Hey Rikki,
What are his reasons for wanting it done? My partner is circumsised because his father insisted on it, and although he is happy with it his mother says she wishes she never let her husband insist on getting it done to them (him and his brother). I think his reasons were cleanliness as they grew up in an arabic country but if you educate your son on how to keep himself clean i don't see the pupose of putting him through unnessesary pain. It's just my opinion though.

lovemybaby08 - Wednesday, 7 May
About your circumcision dilemma- I would have your partner watch a circumcision video on You tube. When my husband saw that, it sealed the deal. We are not circumcising. Also, have him research it himself. I am personally against it because it is a cosmetic procedure, and I just can't fathom putting my little baby through so much unnecessary pain. Good luck with you and your partner's decision.

pregnantwithmythird08 - Wednesday, 7 May
Hey there!! It's alot easier and less painfull on the baby when you have it done at birth. I work for a family practice and we have had quite a few patients come in complaining of"urinary problems" only to find out that they are not circumcised. Uncircumcised males tend to have more UTI's and bladder infections, not to mention yeast infections too! Also when you pull back the skin to clean it, the skin folds back up and leaves the area wet, which can lead to breakdown of the skin and cause infection. My advice is to do it now while he is still so very young and won't remember it. I wish I would've pierced my daughters ears when she was still new, but, I didn't and now I have to wait until she is old enough to decide for herself. (I know this doesn't compare to circumcision) Good Luck!

MommyJewels - Tuesday, 6 May
Love ALL your pictures:) Looks like you had a great time. Yes...I am a bit behind you as my due date is May 31st. Thank you so much for thinking of me. We will get through this...we are almost there:)

MommyJewels - Tuesday, 6 May
Hey!

I just posted a blog about the ordeal. I am feeling better. I am off IV and can drink fluids now. I am still contracting but they aren't nearly as painful. I'm on tyenol instead of demerol. Baby is doing GREAT which is wonderful. I am told I could have him tomorrow or weeks from now. We need my contractions to be more consistent. They figured I should be comfortable at home as long as I can. So we shall see.

How are you doing? Did you enjoy your shower?

MommyJewels - Tuesday, 6 May
Thank you for thinking of me while I know you are going through so much as well!

BabyAlexis - Monday, 5 May
Awww look how beautiul and happy u look.. :)

MommyJewels - Saturday, 3 May
WOO HOO! Sounds like you are making great progress:) How exciting! I can't believe how close we are getting. It's very exciting after being on bed rest to know that all your time resting was worth it and now things are happening! Congrats. You make sure he stays in so you can enjoy your shower tomorrow---because you deserve it so much!

I'm sorry you are in so much pain though and had to go back to the hospital again:(

I am very excited to be off bed rest. I am going to take it very easy at least for the next week or so...but I am really happy. No more terbutaline and I woke up not throwing up which is really nice:)

Have a great weekend:)

MommyJewels - Friday, 2 May
Hey~

Well that is frustrating though to have all those contractions and not see progress. That is how it was for me. I am still on the terbutaline...still on bed rest. I am free Saturday! I cannot hardly wait. I just want to be able to feed myself and be able to see the nursery etc:)

I can imagine that my feet will swell a lot like yours. My hands look like fat marshmellows my feet probably will too lol.

Question...so my contractions are pretty frequent. Some are not painful at all, some are uncomfortable and some are VERY painful. Is that how it is for you? When I get those really painful ones...I think to myself that there is no way I am going to go another month in pain like that. I dunno...I guess our babes will come on their terms. I really think Mommy's Day sounds like perfect timing:)

Are you all moved in?

MommyJewels - Friday, 2 May
Sorry to hear that you were in the hospital AGAIN. I hope that you can enjoy your shower:)

MommyJewels - Monday, 28 April
Well I am very happy for you that you are moved and off bed rest. Keep me updated on what happens. Hope those contractions calm down:) That's a lot of excitment for one day!!!!

MommyJewels - Sunday, 27 April
It's your day! WOO HOO CONGRATS! I know bed rest was sooooo hard and now you are free:)

MommyJewels - Sunday, 27 April
Well I went to the doctor yesterday and there was no further dilation:) I am supposed to take the Terbutaline one more week be in bed. The next week modified bed rest and then I am FREE! I can't wait...today was the hardest!

How exciting to have your shower next weekend! I am sure we will both be running around. I have missed shopping lol
