Well actually just got her EEG done this morning and the neurologist said it looks fine- not infantile spasms (Thank God!) and didnt show any seizure activity. He still would like her to get an MRI done so he can compare the two. We cant get in for the MRI till Jan though which sucks. THe doctor said he thinks its just a tic.. which is really uncommon in babies this young but he said it can happen. At least I can rest a little easy knowing it's not Infantile Spasms. Now we just got to wait until we can get the MRI done to see if we can see exactly what is causing it. Another waiting game...

How are you doing? Did you guys get back together? How was Aubrey's first halloween? What was she? Olivia was a lady bug and we went to see Disney on Ice for Halloween. She had such a great time. She loved watching the skaters. How all is well, I'll check in later take care.

So..Madison just started doing these "chill" Spasms on Saturday. Sunday they turned into like few muscle spams at a time...well as the days went on she started doing them only they were stronger and more often and in clusters so i started freaking out and I started watching her more closely.

Yesterday she was doing this shrugging thing and turning red on top of the muscle spasms..so it looked like she was having a seizure. I called the doctor and they told me to bring her in last night. I had videotaped her doing it in case she didnt do it for the doctor.

After she initially started doing the spasms I went online and started freaking myself out when I started reading all the things it could be...number one being infantile spasms. So I show the doctor the video and he said yes, there is a slight chance of infantile spasms...which was my worst fear. Needless to say- I am freaking mess!

Infantile spasms are seizures and an infant form of epilepsy. It's very rare also- our pedi said in his 17 years of practicing he's never seen a case before. If you read info on it...it's so scary and depressing.

We have to take her into a neurologist to get an EEG done to see if it is in fact the infantile spasms. I called the neurologist today and they cant get me in till dec. 1!!!!

The pedi told us he wanted her to be seen in between 7-10 days and that there is a limited amount of childrens neuros so they are really hard to get into and if they couldnt get her in the 7-10 days to call back and he would call over to get us in. So now I get to sit here and worry and wait...

Apparently if left unnoticed and untreated it can cause developmental delays/growth but if we catch it soon enough (if it is that) then we would probably treat it with seizure meds.

It seriously came out of nowhere...she is still active/happy but those muscle spasms are not fun for either of us.

Everyone kept telling me it was nothing...that i was just worrying for nothing and to stop reading stuff on the internet cuz I was just freaking myself out. Guess it was the motherly instinct...

Guess all I can do now is hope and pray that it's negative on the infantile spams...and nothing serious.

Please pray that when she does take her EEG test- it comes back negative for infantile spasms and anything of that nature.
