November 18th, 2008 - As of tomorrow at 8am I'm going to be induced. I'm scared out of my wits. I really can not wait to see him, but I'm sooooo scared that I'm not going to the best mom, or could i handle the labor? what if something goes wrong? What if the daddy isnt there the moment he comes? Am I going to be able to breastfeed? How am I going to manage my time? Will I ever think of being the best at work like I always have now that i have a baby? Will people think of me differently because I'm a mother? Will my fiance ever think I'm attractive again? I'm all mixed emotions right now. I think i'm feeling everyone that is in the book. I dont know what to expect from an induction, like will it make me sick, will it hurt more than natural, will it work, what does it feel like, what are the side effects? OMG my mind is racing a million miles an hour. I absolutely hate hospitals, and i'm going to be stuck in one for 2 days. I'm trying to breathe....this is really really scary.

Hey, just read your post about falling on your belly! How are you doing now??? Hope all is good!
So you were at Edward Hospital for a night?! ;-) What room were you in? I am currently a resident of room 1107. So if you ever have to come back here you can ask the nurses for me, Daina, their long-term preterm patient....I think I've went thru all of them already ;-) Anyways, I do hope you're feeling better......keep me posted!

i know what you mean about the intense cramping! Everything you just said in the week 35 i can totally relate!! my doctor told me that even though i am not dilated she said i am due at anytime she said one day i will be completely closed and maybe the next day i could be 4cm dilated! so who knows may be the first 2 weeks of november my little girl will make her debut!!

I'm like you...I've been reading up on any little home remedy I can do that might speed things up. So far spicy food and walks haven't done their job. I have an u/s this Thursday. Maybe I'll find out if my cervix has shortened. Keep me posted if you find something that works!

Hi~ Regarding the mucus plug, I didn't feel mine come out with either of my last pregnancies...just happened to notice them either on the tp or in the toilet. I'll warn you now, it was frightening!

I'm still in the hospital. Not sure what the plan is as the high risk doc is against an amnio at 36 weeks. But he wants to turn off my medicine pump at 36 weeks and see what happens. Not sure what my regular doctor thinks of that coz I know he wants me to go to 37 weeks. So I may well be stuck here another 13 days. ;-( It'll all be worth it in the end!!

Hey, so sorry to hear of your situation. It's such an emotional time as it is that you really don't need any of this other mess going on. In a way I've also been where you are at now, and my husband and I learned one very invaluable lesson (unfortunately it took us a loooooong time): DO NOT HAVE TOO MUCH PARENTAL INVOLVEMENT. Seriously. My husband and I constantly had our parents putting in their two-cents, and a lot of times we asked for advice and craved their approval...but it only caused more and more friction between us as a couple. We learned and have now established a barrier that nobody crosses. You need to set that barrier up for yourself, Dave and the baby, IF you want to. On their own they will not back down. They do it coz they care for you and love you and think it's the best they can do for you. So don't spite them, just put them in their place; gently, diplomatically and lovingly (it'll take some time but they'll get it). I hope it helps!! Good luck.......

Hey you, just dropping in...how is everything? I've had a dramatic week....went into premature labor but managed to somehow keep the lil one inside. Still in the hospital on bedrest and meds pumping into me. hoping to make it to 34 weeks, and MAYBE even to 36 weeks. Keep your fingers crossed!!

We only get a portion up to a maximum amount. I have saved a lot too, I am grateful that my job is guaranteed for 12 months. Count down to last day has officially began for me :)

How come you only get 6 weeks? That just doesn't seem enough - I protest for you! I find sometimes the movement makes me feel a wee bit nauseous.....especially the hiccups. I took today off - I was feeling lousy I am off to nap now. Did a little list of things I need to buy - Breast pump, bottle warmer yadda yadda.....:(

On Monday (last monday) I measured 31 weeks on the Tues I would be 31 weeks. Sorry you are feeling unwell. I guess this is what they talk about with the third trimester being tired etc.... just achy.... Are you taking time off before? I am hoping for a couple weeks. You have like a month range so that would annoy me lol. Our nursery is just about done we were going to paint but the walls are off white and I am fine with that for now if i get a little burst I may do it but it's doubtful. I like my naps more....
