November 18th, 2008 - As of tomorrow at 8am I'm going to be induced. I'm scared out of my wits. I really can not wait to see him, but I'm sooooo scared that I'm not going to the best mom, or could i handle the labor? what if something goes wrong? What if the daddy isnt there the moment he comes? Am I going to be able to breastfeed? How am I going to manage my time? Will I ever think of being the best at work like I always have now that i have a baby? Will people think of me differently because I'm a mother? Will my fiance ever think I'm attractive again? I'm all mixed emotions right now. I think i'm feeling everyone that is in the book. I dont know what to expect from an induction, like will it make me sick, will it hurt more than natural, will it work, what does it feel like, what are the side effects? OMG my mind is racing a million miles an hour. I absolutely hate hospitals, and i'm going to be stuck in one for 2 days. I'm trying to breathe....this is really really scary.

Good, it sounds like he is moving in a positive direction, hopefully it continues. That sucks about the swelling, I haven't had to deal with that quite yet. I'm hoping it stays away for as long as possible!

I also havent gained any weight so far during this pregnancy... i lost 10lbs at first because my morning sickness was so bad and i havent even gained that back yet. My doctor says the baby is healthy and developing at the proper rate. My dr. told me that i seem to be looking weight in my legs and but and gaining it in my stomach so it is just "leveling out" my mom only gained 10lbs with my older sister and she only gained 8lbs with me.. so as long as the baby is healthy and developing properly i dont think it is a problem!

wow, sorry to bring that up, that sucks BUT at least he is getting some help AND good for you for making him get the help BEFORE you married him. It would have been easy to marry him anyway because of the baby. That's no life, then you and the baby are stuck if he decides not to get help. It's good that you are still together and working through it. Hopefully this baby will really make it hit home with him and he will really change, deep down.

hey, yeah, we had to cancel all our summer plans too. we're moving to our house this weekend, but at the same time stuck in our apartment lease till end of august....they're holding us hostage here ;-(.
about the excitement. i kind of thought it would be a boy. my husband wanted a boy deep down, but convinced himself he wants a girl...and when it turned out to be a boy he was silent for days on the topic. and now the novelty has worn off..... Maybe we'll get excited once we start setting up the nursery??

Don't worry! I think a lot of parents feel that was at first, especially if you had it in your head you were having one and get the other, it will pass and you will begin to get just as excited about a boy as you were a girl. I know someone who bought a bunch of boy stuff because she was soooo sure it was a boy, I kept telling her it was a girl (I have been right 100% so far), but she just wouldn't believe it even AFTER the u/s. She said she was waiting until they did a second u/s before she took the boy clothes back (the three lines, girl was very obvious to me in the first u/s). It took a few days, but she came around and got just as excited about the girl. Give yourself a few days to get used to the idea and you'll see. Use that time to focus on your wedding and let the baby stew in the background while you are thinking about your big day and you'll be used to a little man before you know it! Are you getting nervous about the wedding at all?

i'm experiencing the numb hands and feet too... i think that it is because i am sleeping on my side now and i end up falling asleep in a wierd position and i always end up with at least my hand numb lol.....

The river walk is sooooo nice. And so is the beach-pool by there. Beautiful! But no, we're not hitting Chicago again for the 'taste of chicago'...too much of a hassle.;-) not sure about boys names....alot harder than for girls. but we all kind of like Adam. my bil didn't name his son till days after he was born!!

Hi Schnookie, just checking in. Been sooooo busy with my mom here. Went to Chicago, which was great!!! Found out on Friday we're having a little boy. I kind of thought so, but my husband was so sure it'd be another girl that he's been silent since we found out ;-) Now we're name hunting.....or at least my daughters and I are. Husband is only thawing from shock this morning. LOL Hope you have a great Sunday. We're off to the Riverwalk this morning.....
