Everyone is talking about changing their wills and I don't even have one! lol!

claires-momma - Monday, 11 August
How are you doing? Are you as ready for this to be over as I am???

mrsbotti07 - Monday, 4 August
I think he will come early because I have been to L&D a few times with contractions- and Tom and I just have a feeling he will be here sooner than later. Who knows!!

Yeah and the kidney stones dont help- My doc may just want to induce me to get me some relief, It really is miserable!

So we are going to have a baby shower,, The one I had for Hannah was when I was 18 and alone.. And that was 4 years ago exactly... so since I am married now and this is the first "biological" grandchild for my in laws and all of Tom's family they wanted us to have a nice big shower... Tom comes from a small family and this is the first baby in his family since TOM!!! for my family it's grandchild #6- so nothing new for them.. But they are more than happy to go and be supportive.. If ever we decide for another baby im positive there wont be another one.,. Usually people hear about the birth and send something nice... anyways! I look forward to hearing from you! Take care!

lol nope WE R DUE NEXT MONTH!! yay!!! I have a feeling this baby is going to come early.. at 36-37 wks I will be doing everything I can to try and have labor come.. all the natural remedies of course.. walking, driving on bumpy roads, sex..lol I simply am getting way too many kidney stones (happens alot with my pregnancies) With Hannah I was induced at 38 wks cause of my kidneys. Anyways, I hope you have a wonderful weekend! Any plans? Are you having a baby shower with this pregnancy?

mrsbotti07 - Wednesday, 30 July

mrsbotti07 - Saturday, 26 July
Hey Shannon!

How have you been?? I cant say I have been the greatest.. I literally cant sleep anymore. I wake up every 2-3 hours. There is no comfortable position, its either too hot or too cold... UGH! lol

Other than that I am okay .. How about you? Able to sleep at all???

Anyways, thanks for checking in on me, im bad when it comes to that, and Im sorry!! Take care and talk with you soon!

I am doing well so far, no complications. I am low risk so I am planning on going with a midwife and doing this thing naturally. My mother had me at home with a midwife present and she says she thinks I can handle this. I am becoming more frightened of the process as I get closer.
eek!

Natalies Roti Baby - Friday, 25 July
I read your comment about your first birth and I just wanted to say how encouraging it was. Im also no underestimateing the pain which according to many of the books Ive read is the right thing to do.

Shaelyn - Thursday, 24 July
thanks so much for your advice. I will definitely ask my doctor next week about it. I just want to make sure everything is alright with myself and the baby so thanks for your imput. Everything else???? I just wish that it was September 26th (my due date) so I can see this little man. It's so hot where I live so I'm tired of being pregnant and hot all the time. I'm getting so big that it's so hard to even turn in bed most nights. I'm sure you know what I mean by that. I feel like I've been pregnant forever and I'm ready for the big day to come. Don't get me wrong, I love being pregnant and having my little man be a part of me but I'm physically drained and just so not myself. I just have to adjust better I guess.

claires-momma - Wednesday, 23 July
Hahaha...that's the same thing I keep telling myself, too! Carter mostly hangs out on my right side, so I know just what you mean. I haven't done anything for his room, because he'll be sharing with Claire if we don't get to move before he goes to his crib. He'll be in our room for a while. Have you done anything for yours?

claires-momma - Wednesday, 23 July
Argh, I saw on 30wk your question about the painful movements. I am right there with you! This kid likes to gouge me with his knees & elbows & there are times it takes my breath away & makes me rise up from my seat. The other day I could actually feel him turning his head from side to side & I felt like my hips were going to break in two!

claires-momma - Wednesday, 16 July
That's great about the 3hr! I passed mine too, thank goodness. And I'm right there with you about getting so sick from it. As soon as it was over I went & got lunch & PIGGED OUT. I haven't had much trouble with heartburn but I have the worst back & stomach pain. It feels like my belly is trying to rip apart from the bottom of my boobs & it is just this horrible weight. Claire is a mess! I think she's teething right now. For the past week or so, she's been waking up in the middle of the night doing a scared cry & sometimes it takes as long as 15 minutes to get her to settle back down. And I don't know where it came from, but the past 2 days I have had the biggest appetite ever. I should be embarrassed with as much as I have been eating!

claires-momma - Wednesday, 16 July
How have you been feeling? I am in a constant state of counting down, I swear. I am so ready for September to get here!

MonikaOH - Tuesday, 15 July
Pumping before is not recommended (you need colostrum when baby arrives, not milk) , also any nipple stimulation can induce labor.

When baby arrives, and yo u get milk then try to pump right after feeding to increase supply. I have very small breasts, never leak, never get engorged... and successfully have been feeding for over 2 months (my son's weight is now in 90%, he is 14 lbs). Also, don't worry about not pumping as much as baby eats, babies mouth are much better than pumps. My son eats 5 oz per feeding (screems if you give him less) so I know that he can get as much from my "poor" boob that I can only pump 1 oz from ... (my second allows for 4-5oz of pupmed milk... it's weird). Good luck!

Bri - Tuesday, 15 July
I would wait until you have the baby to start pumping. Also, just like every pregnancy is different so is each time in breastfeeding. Don't worry about it right now and just learn everything that you can about milk production and breastfeeding. In the hospital take advantage of the nurses. They do know how it's done. If your milk doesn't come in in two to three days don't wait. Call your doctor and ask for a prescription. My sister didn't know you could do that and had troubles with supply after a complicated birth resulting in lots of blood loss and a D&C. After the baby is born immediately try to nurse. Do it before family and friends try to come in and see the baby. You might have a wonderful sucker this time around and everything will go fine. If not, then be sure to have your pump near by. If you start to lack in supply eat lots of oatmeal, sticky rice and fenugreek. It does work. Good Luck and congrats. Remember you aren't the rookie this time around. You know what you're doing so your only challenge is getting breastfeeding right. I'm sure that will be cake for you too!

johna - Tuesday, 15 July
I would definatley wait until at least 38 weeks. Nipple stimulation can send you into labor. It releases oxytocin in your brain, which causes contractions. To help bring your milk in ask for a pump from lactation when you are in the hospital after delivery. Their pumps are designed to establish a good milk supply. I hope you can breast feed this time, it is such a wonderful experience. It's tough in the beginning, but just stick it out and it will pay off!!!! Best of luck!!!!!

MilMom2Be - Tuesday, 15 July
pumping ahead of time won't get your milk going, and could send you into early labor. Your body starts producing milk when the placenta disengages after birth... I found that out cause I had a c-section and was worried about my milk, but c-sec or vag, the placenta still comes out so it's all good! The best way to begin bfing sucessfully is to nurse as soon as possible, within an hr of birth, and try and get a good latch. Won't stop it from hurting the first 3 weeks or so as your nipples toughen up, but will defrinately minimize the pain if you have a good latch. Ask to see a lactation consultant in the hospital if you are having difficulties!

johnsbabymama - Tuesday, 15 July
You asked a question about wether you could pump before you baby come, your cannot because your milk comes in a couple- to a few days after you have your baby. What the baby will be feeding on the first few days after you have it, is a clear liquid called collstrum (not sure of the spelling). This liduid is what protects your baby for infections, and give your baby anitbodies from your body. I read this book that really helped me learn more about breastfeeding, because i didn't have a clue. It's called THE NURSING MOTHERS COMPANION BY KATHLEEN HUGGINS. It really is a great book, and if your going to try to breastfeed like i am i would suggest picking up a copy. Good luck and congrats on your pregnancy!

My best friend has 3 kids and only had gestational diabetes with the middle pregnancy

claires-momma - Tuesday, 1 July
I'm lucky that both my SIL & aunt live close to my dr's office, so I know if I ever have to, I can stay at one of their houses instead of making the drive all in one day. We moved when I was 6months preg & I didn't feel comfortable trying to find a new dr. Plus the hospital in the town we moved to is really small & only has the bare bones for a L&D department. If something were to be wrong with Carter, he'd have to be medivac'd to Wichita. The hospital we're delivering at has one of the top rated NICU's in OKC so I'd be at the same hospital as him

BabyGonzales - Tuesday, 1 July
With my first 2 babies I didnt have the gestational diabetes but with this one I do. With my 2nd baby I failed the 1 hour but passed the 3 hour. Hope this helps.

claires-momma - Tuesday, 1 July
Not at all...did they tell you to do any kind of special diet? I've been told by other moms to eat lean proteins, lots of carbs & peanut butter today & tomorrow. I am not going to be a very pleasant preggo when I go do mine. It's a 2hr drive to my dr's office & I'll have to leave around 8:00 so that I can get there on time to do my test & be done in time for my 2:00 appt. No coffee
