Im so nervous about not getting pregnant, I feel like everyone around be gets pregnant so fast, but me. Let me know any advice, wish me luck, and good luck to all of you!

The baby has been lazy lately,, must be going through a growth spurt... cant wait for her to be here.. saturday I will be 23 weeks :)

yesterday I went to labor in delivery for increase vaginal discharge. The doctor was worried for amnion leakage. So the Dr. did a pelvic exam, used stripes to test for fluid, and one under the microscope. It was just vaginal discharge, thank god. They had me on the monitor for the entire time. Tested my urine, and did an ultrasound to check for fluids. Me and the baby were healthy.. Thank god :)

I agree with everyone else and your doctor, if you're really against soy, try just switching brands. I breastfeed and my son is 7 months old and it still makes him sick if I have dairy. I think it's becoming more common or at least it seems like it. Pediatricians will tell you, along with child psychologist, and other baby specialists that you can't spoil a newborn. If she's gassy then she has a very valid reason to cry and will need you to comfort her in any way that you can. However, it does get to be more than anyone can take sometimes and don't be afraid to lay her in her crib and get a little fresh air every now and then so that you can keep your own sanity! We're all here for you! Also, some of the things that worked when my son was gassy was to roll him on his back from side to side. I was told that the gas gets trapped in their intestines and this helps to break it up. Bicycling his legs and pressing them into his abdomen while singing also helped and seemed to distract him from the pain. One more thing I did was to rub his tummy right around the top of the diaper, just under his belly button kind of firmly and this usually quieted him down so I'm guessing it made him feel better. Hang in there, it will get easier!!!

About your gass issue with the baby my son had the same and I just gave him gas drops and put him on nestle good start because it is already partially broken down so it helps with the gas. She will outgrow it, its just a matter of time. Good luck hun :)

mzmommy2b - Tuesday, 15 April
My is on soy milk, and has been doing well on it. He is still gassy sometimes, but nothing that Mylicon doesn't cure. Good luck!

The same thing happend to my little girl when we used the Enfamil w/ Lipil. We switched her to a different formula and within the next feeding she was doing 100% better. My little girl was born at 34.5 weeks.

excitedmama - Tuesday, 15 April
When my baby was that young we would do just a little tiny bit of water. No more than 1/2 oz to 1 oz at a time. That seemed to help his tummy and his constipation. Good luck!

amyeliz - Tuesday, 15 April
I saw your post, maybe try Enfamil gentlease. I think its in a purple can. It has half the lactose than regualr enfamil. Or Nestle Goodstart. That has the proteins already partially broken down. My daughter was on Enfamil Lipil when she first came home and it made her so constipated. My pediatrician said its the worse formula for gas. We tried Goodstart but she ended up having a lactose sensitivity so she is on Nutramigen (lactose free).

Suzi- I would give the soy a shot. Giving the baby soy formula does not mean that the baby is lactose intolerant or anything like that! Just sometimes the baby cannot breakdown the milk proteins that easy when they are so young, and thats what makes them gassy. I BF my son, but If I have to supplement for any reason, thats the one that I go too :) Hope this helps

wonderinginIA - Tuesday, 15 April
we went thru the same thing and tried all sorts of formulas, but the soy worked the best. we used it for probably 2 months, and then tried switching back to the regular enfamil - which he is on now and is doing wonderfully, he's 4 months old.

onelove - Tuesday, 15 April
The same thing happened with my Son and My Dr. said to put him on Soy and that cleared his tummy troubles right up. He uses the similac Soy and it still has all the nutrients he needs! Good Luck!

luvbeingamom - Tuesday, 15 April
I would try a different formula if the one you are on is causing a lot of gas. A dairy allergy or intolerance to dairy is VERY common in babies. My son was very allergic to dairy as a baby and now at 3 can eat what he wants. But he had to be on soy formula and is now drinks soy milk. Is there a reason you don't wnat to have your little one on soy? There are other formulas with lower lactose contents that can reduce gas. I know gentle ease is one and nutrimen (spelling?) is another. I know RobinG has a lot of knowledge about differnet formulas and might be a help to you on that. I personally think soy is the best thing for most babies. My son who up till know has been exlusivly bf will go on soy soon as i try to ween him.

spookywife - Tuesday, 15 April
My son did not do good on Enfamil. I switched him to GoodStart, and he did great. You might just try switching. GoodStart has something called comfort protiens that my son was able to handle better.

Julia R - Tuesday, 15 April
That sound like what bella was doing at that age. I switched to Enfamil Gentlease for gassy and fussy babies...she's doing fine on it still and is now 4 months. I'd say it pretty much helped her from the first week of switching...the fussiness thing will peak at week 6 and then get better. Hang in there...it DOES get better

Thank you for all the comments Suzi! Bas mi je drago da smo se upoznale (preko interneta...hahaha).

Ja sam se rodila u Banja Luci, ali imam neke familije od mame po srbiji i vojvodini i od tate u zagrebu. :) what a mix!

By the way....You are u/s tech?! Pa mogu li ti dosadjivati malo sa pitanjima?

I think as they get older they will calm down, also at 4 months we can feed them cereal in their bottles. I know 4 months seem so far away but it will be here before we know it. BTW your daughter is so cute I love here eyes!

momoffive - Monday, 14 April
Hi Suzi. My son is also very very gassy (which makes my husband very proud) It keeps him awake at night grunting and fussing. I have found the mylacon drops work very well and he's sleeping better with them. Highlands colic tablets helped with my other kids. They are homeopathic though. I have a friend that is a naturapathic Dr. and she recoments them. I have found the mylacon works better though. Are you still nursing? I cut dairy out of my diet and cut out the formula for a couple of days and noticed his gassiness got much better. I don't know if it was a coincidence or not....I have been craving dairy so have had ice cream or cereal or something at least once a day. The gassyness seems to be getting worse. I think I need to cut it out completly for a good week and see if that is for sure the issue. He doesn't nurse under a blanket which means I can't nurse in public so will have to stay home to completly cut out formula too. That's tough. I've very much an on the go person :-) Lots of things can cause gassyness. You may want to switch to soy formula if she's getting formula and see if that helps too. Sorry if I suggested something youv'e already tried. I havn't read thru any updates on your page today. Good luck! I know it breaks my heart when Sam cries with a tummy ache that I can't fix for him.

Yes, I'm exhausted. My baby eats about the same amount. The lactation specialist said he ate almost 3 ounces while I was there being observed because they weighed him to determine how much he got out of each side. When I've fed him with a bottle a few times it's been 2 ounces. He was eating every 3, but we switched it to every 2 1/2. Lately though he's been eating a long time and still acting hungry afterwards, so not sure what that's about. I have to go feed him now. Great wedding pictures! Wedding days were happy days!!

Yep - just like mine...mine is pronounced Maya as well.Nevertheless, congratulations!!

hhall - Friday, 11 April
you should look into gripe water

mzmommy2b - Thursday, 10 April
Thanks!! Your daughter is adorable!! Gripe water is a natural supplement that has ginger and fennel in it and sodium. I think it actually made my son have diarrhea and vomit today though, and has me worried now, although i dont know if thats what caused it.. But the mylicon seems to work for him pretty well. It doesnt totally take the gas away though... Anyways, my son is on Soy since day 1 in the hospital after a few spit ups from reg formula. Soy is working out pretty well, but he still has gas, so i dont know if it even makes a big difference and the soy can cause constipation, so... it may have an effect on the gas though, just not as much as you would like. Good luck!

majad - Thursday, 10 April
