Starting to show now, I gained 13lb so far, yuk I hate gaining weight, because it doesnt come off easy for me and I gain everywhere, my legs, arms, Im pretty proportional when it comes to weight gain. The baby has been lazy lately,, must be going through a growth spurt... cant wait for her to be here.. saturday I will be 23 weeks :)

yesterday I went to labor in delivery for increase vaginal discharge. The doctor was worried for amnion leakage. So the Dr. did a pelvic exam, used stripes to test for fluid, and one under the microscope. It was just vaginal discharge, thank god. They had me on the monitor for the entire time. Tested my urine, and did an ultrasound to check for fluids. Me and the baby were healthy.. Thank god :)

HI- If soy doesn't work, try Enfamil Gentlease or Similac Sensitive. The Gentlease is reduced lactose and the Similac Sensitive is lactose free- they work wonders for terrible gas and fussiness. Aiden did best on Similac Sensitive. It is the orange can.

COLIC! Mr. Colic is very popular w/ babies. My baby had colic for the first 3-4 months. Don't worry, it will go away w/o you even knowing that it's gone. Lol. After I tell you this, you're like 'I can't wait til he's about 4 month so I won't have to deal w/ colic anymore'. Colic is nothing compare to other problem baby may have. Babies are full of surprises. If it's not acid reflux, it's colic, if it's not colic then it's something else. Whatever it is we just love them so much , right? heeheehee. Right now my baby have eczema (rash). I was told it can last up to 1 year, as the baby mature, it gets better. Now I can't wait for him to reach 1 yrs of age. I'm frustrated w/ eczema comes and goes every several days. I think having a baby w/ eczema is worst than a baby w/ colic. It's a lot of work for the mom. All in all, what I'm saying is that be prepare, be prepare for surprises that babies bring. (example: colic, acid refux, eczema, rash, allergy, etc.) take care now

Hi I read your comment on the 9 month page asking for help. I switched my son to soy because of reflux which helped a small bit but it made him VERY constipated! DO you think it is gas she is having? Or I was thinking possible silent reflux??? You can read more about it here http://www.infantrefluxdisease.com/silent-reflux.php
Hope that helps a bit.

Hey girl its ok to hold babies a lot when their little. Its gives them more self confidence now as far as the gas goes....we used gas drops and it worked well....your baby may have colick unfortunately and sometimes there's nothing you can do sorry to discourage....oh and maybe try some gripe water.

majad - Wednesday, 16 April
oh Suzy, looks like you went through a lot. ....i can just imagine how you feel. I am soooo sorry , but it will be over soon!! :) Keep your chin up!

I went to u/s tech yesterday so i can get more cute photos of my baby, but it was impossible, He was head down looking to my left hip and he would not divide from me. So i didint get good pictures. However, she did tell me that i have a 4 pound baby boy. Is that a lot for being 31-3.? Also what are freaking BH? I think i am experiencing something, but i am not 100% sure that it is indeed BH.

My little girl also born early 36wks was sooo fussy and gassy. I use enfamil gentlease. It has helped a bit. I bicycle her legs and push her knees to her chest. I would carry her all the time(it still didn't stop her crying) Now she rarely likes to be held actually just prefers to be near me. Finally at 5 months her fussiness started to subside. I do think the gentlease is a good formula and I wish you the best of luck.

toddsbaby - Wednesday, 16 April
well maybe the formula change will help, I am so sorry to hear that she is not a good burper, my mother in law is the best at burping lori ann, she laid her on her laid, belly down and bounced her legs to help burp her, sat her sitting up on her lap and patted her that way, and laid her on her chest and patted her, she tried all different positions to burp her, when lori-ann was little, about 2 weeks old, she used the belly down lap burp, she bounced her legs and patted her back, that burps that came out of her were very impressive for a new born, anyways, I dont know how you burp her, let me know how things go, hopefully the formula change will help too.

You're welcome! I wanted to add too....if I recall correctly, Connor started getting really fussy with crying fits and looking to be in pain right around 2 weeks old and it lasted perhaps a month if I recall. Maybe that was colic. I thought he had acid reflux but who knows because it went away. Hopefully your cutie will outgrow it too. The gas drops never worked - just gave him diarrhea. We always slept him on his tummy because he would cry/scream on his back. But then again that's a personal choice. He learned to fall asleep with us patting his back while he slept on his tummy...I think it soothed him and helped work the gas out.

littlecavalier - Wednesday, 16 April
Thank you! He has the sweetest personality too, but I guess all Mom's think that :-). Your little girl is beautiful, she is so perfect looking for a newborn! Let me know how things go!

startingoverat37 - Wednesday, 16 April
I agree that soy is not what you should do. But just be patient and let her grow into her body. She doesn't know what to do any more than you do to bring her peace. Just hold her and love her! Good luck sweety!

sabsi - Wednesday, 16 April
She is beautiful! You may want to ask your doctor to check for acid reflux, just in case. sometimes a lot of crying can signal that. tummy time helps a lot with gas, because the pressure on the tummy helps break bubbles up.my little guy burps like crazy when he is on his tummy. he feels a lot better after that :)

Laura14 - Tuesday, 15 April
hi there my daughter was very gassy until i changed to dr brown bottles so i would recommend that also if theres no improvement and the doctor recommended to id switch to soy may be so much easier on your little ones tummy, try burp her good....also gas drops did not help my emma i think that upset her more so you could try not giving her them?? hope this helps! xxx

JenMN - Tuesday, 15 April
Try the Dr. Brown bottles...they are amazing. They eliminated my baby's gassiness right away.

toddsbaby - Tuesday, 15 April
your baby coul dbe lactose intolerant, soy milk might be the answer, I would try it at least for a week to see if it helps, also be sure you burp baby good, pat her on the back, little babies need to be burped real good, for about 15 mins, the gas builds up in the tummy the patting on their back helps them, they relaly need that. Also doc told me to use the gas drops after everyfeedign or no feedings at all, cant be in between about it. I really think baby needs to be burped, also I stopped givin my baby gas drops and she stopped crying so much, she was a week old when we did that, I gave her drops one time and she cried unconsolably for the rest of the night. I think the drops made her tummy hurt. thats my opinion, try burpin baby good first and then I would stop given her the gas drops, if that does not work change formulas. hope this helps.

firstimemom - Tuesday, 15 April
My daughter had colic until 13 weeks... I remember the day it stopped. It's horrible & I hope maybe changing formulas will help. I breastfed Isabella & she was still really gassy, still is and she is 8 months old! There is nothing that worked for me... it was hell. Just take heart & know that it won't last forever. You feel like it will but it won't. Also, it helps to know that your not alone. I wish I had a magic answer to give you. I remember feeling so desperate so my heart really goes out to you. I think that sometimes colic is because the baby is gassy or has acid reflux. I also believe that some babies are really sensitive. They have a hard time decompressing & get very overstimulated easily. Hope this helps! xoxo

babyJSL - Tuesday, 15 April
Hi! My baby did soy for 6 month. It's fine.Soy is not bad, the artificial milk is bad. My baby also had colic. Soy help colic. My baby has a hard time burping, but when he was on soy, he passes gas (fart) a lot. Cute? Yeah, but farting in the supermarket is not cute. It stink.Lol.All in all, he is happier on it. I also tried Enfamil Gentlease, it don't help, but it's the closest to enfamil lipil. I don't want to try the AR. Not a lot of the baby get acid reflux. I though my baby had AR but the doc said it was colic. Now colic is what most baby get the first 3 months. It' s true, after the 3rd months, your baby cries less and is easier to burp him. Gool luck w/ your decision. I think first baby are like science experiment. There is cause and effect, trail and error, positive and negative, etc. You won't find the perfect formula the first try. i would rather try soy than medicine like mycolin drops.

nikkig07 - Tuesday, 15 April
First of all, congratulations on your beautiful baby girl!! I breastfed my baby, but did offer formula on occassion, especially since he was always spitting up. I had to try the Enfamil A.R., which was too binding for him. Anyway, he had some issues with gassiness from formula that wasn't soy. I would really take the doctor's advice and give it a try. It's much gentler on thier small under-developed digestive sys. It really did help. Plus, you'll have a happier baby on your hands...and you'll be happier too! Good luck and I hope something works out! Keep me posted!

raeross76 - Tuesday, 15 April
suzi - it sounds like colic to me. It normally develops between 2-3 weeks. My baby got it around 2 months old.

girleo - Tuesday, 15 April
Hi, my son was born at 37 weeks also.. I ended up having to put him on soy formila... he ate 2/3 oz every 2 hours of soy... it really helped..... i know switching formilas can be hard but soy really helped my son, i didn't keep him on it forever though... I put him on it until he was 6 months old and then i switched to a different one...

mom-of-4 - Tuesday, 15 April
Ask your pediatrician if you can use Enfamil Nutramigen. my son has been using it since he was 4 days old and it works great

RobinG - Tuesday, 15 April
I use the gentleease now ~ Walmarts version of it :) but its because I cant use soy, Hunter is allergic to soy ~ I think soy is so much better since it has no milk protein and is easier to digest but sadly he cant have it. Is there a reason you dont want soy? My docs all said it was better then milk based formulas and I agree (()) But I do agree if you dont want soy, try the gentlease :)
