Hi! My name is Sabrina. I have actually had a page on here since I was 4 wks but some how it got deleted, so we will try this again lol!I am 24 years old. I have a wonderful husband whom I have been with for 4 yrs. We just got married Oct.19,2007. We have a beautiful little girl who was born Feb. 20,2005. This is my third pregnancy. We got pregnant the second time in January of 2007 and the pregnancy ended 12 weeks into it due to a blighted ovum. We were devastated but were able to start trying again 2 months later and luckily got pregnant a month after trying! I have had some severe pregnancy complications, but am happy to report that at 28 weeks all the complications are gone and everything is now going smooth! We are expecting another little girl who should be here somewhere around the last week of April to first week of May!! Anything else you might want to know just ask!

Feb 13,2008

I had my monthly check up today! Everything went great! Baby is measuring fine and heart rate was very good. I also got my rhogam shot. I feel like I have had way too many of those bc I have had to have a few of them this pregnancy due to spotting. I am very excited though bc I am now on every two week appts. till I am 32 weeks then every week there after. It's been a rough pregnancy and I love love love to feel the baby move but I am so sore and tired all the time! I am so glad I am not that far from holding my beautiful baby in my arms!

Feb 18,2008 justmommies labor prediction quiz

Just about the time you think you can't handle hearing one more "when is that baby going to pop?", your baby will decide to make it's appearance. We predict your baby will be born 3-7 days before its due date. Your baby will most likely be born in the morning. Justmommies predicts that your baby will weigh approximately 6.0 pounds and that your labor will be about 13 hours long.

Feb 27,2008

I had my drs. appt. today. Everything went great! The babies heart rate was great! I am measuring good! I got my glucose test back and it is negative thank goodness! However my iron levels are pretty low so I have to take iron supplements. Which sucks I hate taking iron pills as I have had to do this in the past. This is not the first time I have had low iron but first time during pregnancy! Past that everything is great!

March 12,2008

Well its been awhile since I have posted anything new about the baby, so here it goes! The baby is still measuring fine and the heart rate is very good! I have been having alot of Braxton Hicks contractions which seem to be speeding things up pretty good! I had them all day yesterday and all night last night until about 5 am this morning 15 min. apart! The baby is head down and has dropped! I am in alot of pain due to the pressure the baby is putting on my pelvic bones from dropping! The pain is new to me as I never had any pain when Eliana dropped but am told this tends to happen in subsequent pregnancies! I have also been losing my mucous plug for the last 3 weeks! I know TMI but its all part of having a baby! All in all this means we are getting closer to having our baby! I am very excited and anxious as are Bryan and Eliana! I am also very uncomfortable due to the pressure and the pain so any day would be good for me! LOL! Well I will keep everyone posted! Hopefully it won’t be too much longer!

April 2,2008

Well I had my weekly check up today! I have been on weekly appts. for a little while now but this is the first time I have actually gotten a chance to post something! Everything is still pretty much the same. The babies heart rate is still hanging around in the 150s and still measuring right on target! The dr. has been telling me for weeks that the baby has dropped but today he actually palpated the babies head and the baby is pretty much completely engaged now. He looked at me and told me I am ready to go any day now!! Woohoo! I hope so! The pains and contractions are just getting worse as the days go, so the sooner the better! I was actually surprised the the baby dropped so early . I have read and the dr has told me that this doesn't usually happen in subsequent pregnancies until labor begins. But there are alot of other women on this site who are on subsequent pregnancies and have dropped so evidently it happens more than they think it does!! We went and bought the rest of the babies stuff today! Everything but the crib is now set up, which my husband is suppose to be doing tomorrow!! I do still have to pack the babies bag and my bag. Also one for my daughter as well as she will be in the hospital with us. I am going to get all that done tomorrow. I also still need to get up to the mall. About 4 weeks ago our dr. recorded the babies heartbeat on this little speaker thing and gave it to us along with a coupon to get a build a bear. You put the speaker inside the build a bear and you just push the button and the baby can here its heart beat! So cool! I can't wait! Anyways we are still just sitting here waiting till the baby decides it wants to come out! Any day now!!!!!

April 16,2008

I had my weekly check up today! I am 3cm dialated and 70% effaced! i am also measuring 2 weeks ahead now and wasnt last week! If I am still measuring big next week they will do and ultrasound to see if the baby is big! They said it could just be the position the baby is in! Everything else is going great!

April 17,2008

Lydia was born! 7lbs 5oz 21in long!!! She was born at 10:03 am after 18 hours of labor and she is absolutely perfect!

April 18, 2008

Lydias first day home!! It couldn't have been more perfect! She is nursing great! I had no problems with her latching on or anything, as soon as she came out and was placed in my arms that was the first thing she went for. I was expecting some complications because with Eliana the first day I had a hard time getting her to latch on and also had a hard time getting her to stay awake to nurse! After the first day though she was fine! Lydia has been a breeze when it comes to nursing, absolutely no problems! As soon as we got home we layed down to take a nap together and Eliana and daddy went shopping! After they got home and up until bed time we had company here to see the new baby!! All in all was a great day but was defanitely ready for bed!!!!!!! She hardly ever cries only if shes hungry or just wants to be held. I couldn't have asked for a better baby! Shes perfect!

April 19,2008

Lydia slept pretty well through the night. She was up about every 2-3hrs. to eat! Not too bad! However we did wake up to find the she was jaundice. I called the dr but we had to see a different dr as our dr still wouldn't be back from guatemala till later this afternoon. We were sent over to the hospital to have her bilirubin levels checked! It was 10.8 so no need to be alarmed yet but she still has to be tested daily till the levels peek and then start dropping. Past that everything is great! She weighed 6 13 at her dr appt today! Sleeping and eating great!

April 20,2008

Lydia got her bili levels checked again today. It was 11.8 today so still climbing, which means more foot poking! I hate that its so awful! Still no need for alarm though. They tell me they will be alarmed if it gets closer to 15 or so! Everything else is going great!

April 21, 2008

Took Lydia back to have her bili levels checked! It was awful I took her big sister with us and i was the first time shes seen them poke her little sisters foot! She lost it she was bawling and screaming saying they are hurting my baby Lydia! I felt so bad and wanted to cry myself! They decided to put her on the bili blanket because her levels were 14.8 and still climbing! She doesn't mind the blanket at all because its warm and she actually sleeps for longer periods if shes on the light! We don't have to take her clothes off or anything we just have to slip it underneath her clothes and rotate it from her back to her belly 24/7! She probably wouldn't like it so well if we had to remove her clothes! Everything else is still going good!

April 22,2008

Lydia had her bili levels checked again today and it was 15.3! So more foot poking and being on the light! Her big sister was better about the foot poking today and was there to hold her hand!

April 23,2008

Lydia had her levels checked again today and also had a dr appt to check the jaundice! The levels are down to 12.8 today! Woohoo! She has to do 24 more hours of the light then 24 more hours with out then she gets her levels checked again to see if she can keep them down on her own without the light! Lydia weighed 7lbs 9oz today but they weighed her with her clothes on this time so maybe a few oz less!

April 25,2008

Lydia had her levels checked today! Hopefully this is the last time! I hate them poking her foot and making her cry! We will find out the results tomorrow bc the dr is out of town today!

April 26, 2008

The dr called my cell phone today to tell me that Lydias bili levels are now 11.8 and still comin down!! So she can come off the light and no more foot poking! She has to go back to the drs Wednesday for her 2 weeks check up and to have the jaundice checked again!

April 30,2008

Lydia had her two week check up today ! Shes doin great. She now weighs about 8lbs!! jaundice is doing great! Almost gone now but he said it will still probably take another week or two but shes doin great! The more she eats the more it will flush it out! She eats anywhere from every half hour to 2 hours now through out the day and every 3 hours at night! We woke up monday night to find Lydia sleeping on her belly which means she is already rolling over by herself as I put her to sleep on her back! We told the dr about this and he said good for her bc she is rolling over all by herself already! When we put her on her belly she will roll to her side so she already has pretty strong back muscles! We have had a hard time getting her to sleep anywhere other than with me! She absolutely refuses to sleep in her crib! She has been like this since she was born! Even in the hospital she would only sleep with me! The dr recommended that we put one of the nursing pillows in the crib for her to lay on! So we are goin to try that. They most generally dont want anything in the crib because it poses suffocation risks but the nursing pillows are very firm and it keeps her in one position and has straps so she can't slide down! He said this would be safer than her sleeping with us. She hardly ever cries and is a perfect baby. Her sister was the same way hardly ever cried unless she was hungry or wanted to be held! She doesn't have to go back to the drs unitl her 2 month check up!

May 4, 2008

Well I just thought I would comment on the just mommies labor prediction quiz! For me it was mostly wrong! It predicted my baby would come 3-7 days before my due date, she actually came 2 1/2 weeks before my due date! She was born in the morning, so that was right! She didn't weigh 6.0 lbs though she was 7lbs 5oz! My labor was not 13 hours long either it was 18 hours! This site also predicted me a boy but I had a girl! Like the site says it is just for entertainment purposes but some people find what they actually say to be true and I myself like to see just how often they are correct! For me it couldn't have been more wrong! LOL

June 4th, 2008

Lydia got her shots today!! Poor thing!! She did well with the first one but when they put the last one in she turned blue and was holding her breath! I blew in her face and she sarted breathing again but was crying big time!! My oldest also had to have one more shot she didn't cry at all just looked at the lady and said ouch that hurt lol! Lydia slept most of the day and ran a small fever!

We had a wic appt today!! Things went well!! BF is going awesome!!! Lydia now weighs 10 lbs 7oz thats with diaper only on!! We found out that my oldest Eliana is anemic which doesn't surprise me any as I have been anemic off and on all my life!!

June 9th,2008

Lydia had a drs appt today bc I noticed that she had thrush and my nipples were sore so I knew I did too!! She weighed 11lbs 2oz today with clothes on! The dr gave her nystatin for the thrush and gave me and antibiotics also. Lydia is allergic to regular formula. She has been refusing to take a bottle no matter whats in it!! No matter how hungry she is she will not take it! I had a gall bladder attack and had to give her the bottle for 24 hours and she only ate a cpl of oz the whole day!! She just screamed and screamed everytime we tried to give it to her!! The day after she has formula she gets diahrea everytime!! So for now she doesn't get formula especially since she won't take a bottle! I only gave her formula bc I didn't have any milk stored up. Guess I will have to start workin on that! She also has a birth mark on her head that just keeps getting bigger and bigger! Its made out of a cluster of blood vessels! Eventually they said they will refer her to a dermatologist and it will have to be lasered off!! BF is obviously still going great lol Its all she will take!! I love it though as I will do this for the first year to two years of her life not sure which yet!

June 19th, 2008

Had another gall bladder attack tonight! This is getting really old!! I didn't have enough breast milk stored so Lydia had to have formula for a few hours! I had to go get her prosobee though since shes allergic to the other! She still won't really take the bottle. She only took a cpl of oz the whole time!! My oldest also had to be on prosobee! After the 12 hours though she went right back to the breast! Guess I'm gonna have to start pumping more to make sure I have enough if I have an attack bc I really only want her to have breast milk!!

July 13th,2008

So I guess its time for an update! Lydia is doing great! She will be 3 months old on the 17th! I can't believe it she is getting so big! She now weighs 12lbs 8ozs and is 24 in. long!! I am still breastfeeding which is going awesome! She is strictly breast fed. I want her to stay on the breast for the first year or two! We tried formula once or twice but she can't take it at all no matter what brand bc it gives her diahrrea. She still has a hard time taking a bottle period though and thats with breast milk in it. We got dr browns bottles but they aren't very successful either. She will still only take a cpl of oz in a 24 hour time period or not at all!! Which is hard because I still have the gall bladder attacks and when I have an attack and am on pain meds she has to take my stored milk in a bottle for atleast 12 hours! I have lots of stored milk ready for when I have surgery or for if I have an attack. Hopefully the surgery comes soon, I found a place that might help pay for the surgery so hopefully that pans out! The dr said I must have really good milk because she is in the 95th percentile for her weight lol... She doesnt look chunky really though because she is so long!!! She has also been teething for the last two weeks so I think she is gonna cut some teeth early!!! She is a great baby just like her sister was! I am so happy to be blessed with two beautiful little girls!!!

Did you have to wait to bf because of the anesthesia from surgery? I'm having a major dental surgery in Sept. and I was wondering how my surgery and anesthesia would effect my bf'ing.

beautifulbebe - Thursday, 14 August
I was told to use blessed thistle too. I forget the dose, but they will know at the pharmacy. Also, keep on BF-ing as much as you can and pump if you can. My supply went down when I was in the hospital with my son who was sick. I pumped and BF as much as I could. My supply is fine now. Get well soon!

Hey there! We have successfully been giving our daughter a bottle since last Wednesday. If you are still having trouble, here is what we did. I think it was really important for us to be holding her firmly in a way where she couldn't turn away. I would hold her with her head in the crook of my arm and her head close to my breast. Her arm would be tucked under my side and the other would be held down so she couldn't put her hands in the way. It sounds mean but it wasn't so firm that it was hurting her at all. I didn't wait for her to bring the bottle into her mouth because I knew that would never happen! I put the bottle in her mouth so that the tip of the nipple was tickling the roof of her mouth in the back (not so far that she was choking). I kept smiling and reassuring her and after crying for a couple of minutes, she started sucking! She finished 3 oz in about 10 minutes. She has been taking a bottle a day ever since and protesting less and less each time. We don't need to hold her firmly anymore either because she doesn't squirm or cry. She doesn't get upset at all now and my husband can give her one as well! I hope this helps you!!!

SABRINA I GOT MIRENA ABOUT 2 YRS AGO WHEN I HAD CANCER, I WAS GOIN THROUGH TREATMETN IN THE HOSPITAL AND FOUND OUT I WAS 16WKS PREGNANT UNDER HOSPITAL CARE, CAN U IMAGINE, I WAS DEVISTATED, ESPECIALLY SINCE I ABORTED THE FETUS, IT KILLED ME BUT BY THE AMOUNT OF XRAYS CTSCANS AND DRUGS I WAS ON THERE WAS NO WAY I COULD EXPECT A HEALTHY BABY, IT WAS SAD, I GOT THE MIRENA AND THEN 3 MONTHS AFTER I DID I WAS IN REMISSON, I GOT PREGNANT 9 WEEKS AGO, THEY TOOK IT OUT, IF ITS EARLY ENOUGH 5 TO 6 WEEKS THEY CAN TAKE IT RIGHT OUT, THERE IS A SLIGHT CHANCE OF MISCARRIGE BUT THE CHANCES OF HURTING THE PREGNANCY IS GREATER LEAVING IT IN I HOPE THIS HELPS U, LOVE CARLY

babyk79 - Wednesday, 23 July
I will let you know if I find anything that works. So far, nothing has but we will keep trying. :)

hotpotaaaaato - Saturday, 5 July
How are you liking the Mirena?? I don't know if I should get it.

Debra - Tuesday, 17 June
how hungry was she when you last tried her on the bottle? it may work better if she is really interested in eating. Just try going out some time for a trial run before your surgery and getting someone else to give her a bottle. If she's hungry she'll eat, if not- she won't.

Hi I saw your comment about your daughter not taking a bottle. I had the same problem until recently. Seren refused a bottle point blank even with breast milk in there. One day I decided to really go for it and I refused to breast feed and kept offering the bottle instead and was told not to worry that she wouldnt go more than 4 and a half hours before she gave in and drank but after 8 hours of her starving herself I just couldnt carry on and I breast fed again. It was awful. She wasnt even crying but just looking at me like I was the most evil person on earth. I tried so many times to give her a bottle and she refused and she wouldnt take it from anyone else either. At 7 months old a friend came over and her son dropped his dummy and Seren grabbed it and sucked like mad on it. She never ever sucked a dummy before so I thought it was a sign and filled a bottle with formula and gave it to her straight away and she drank the lot. I couldnt believe it. She now has breastmilk in the morning and at night but I give her a bottle of formula during the day just to keep her practising in case I need to leave her with someone. The day after she first drank from a bottle my son broke his arm and ended up having emergency surgery to pin it. It was perfect timing that she was able to have a bottle from my friend. I think she must have known something was going to happen. lol!!! I just wanted you to know that if you stick with it and try just once a day she will eventually give in, hopefully a lot sooner than my stubborn little princess. Good luck with your surgery, look after yourself. xxx

thesweetestthing - Monday, 16 June
Good luck with your surgery. No need to worry yourself about the bottle problem. When your lil one doesn't have any other choice and gets hungry enough, she will chow down on that bottle!! Mine does the same thing. I exclusively breastfeed but once in a while (car, meds etc) bottle is the way to go...She wont starve to death with your mom, she'll take it.!!

newbiemama - Monday, 16 June
hi just read your post. Your baby might accociate you with the breast... when you try to feed her she wants the breast. It might help to have someone else try giving her the bottle when you aren't in the room. Try this a few times.

trishak - Friday, 16 May

Yes your feedback has helped. Thank You. I will try to be careful.

sarahnicely - Thursday, 3 April
well no luck, i must still be pretty high up, because I feel nothing that seems to be a cervix...thanks for the info though, maybe I'll get my hubby to do it...he is pretty much not wanting any part of the baby maker right now. (he's a scaredy cat)

TrishaK - Tuesday, 25 Mar
My doctor's appointment went very well. I had another ultrasound and heard the babies heartbeat. I will be 13 weeks on Wednesday and can not wait until the first trimester is over. I am finally nstarting to have a little more energy. How are you doing? Have you had an appointment lately? If so, are you dilated or anything? I hope you are not too uncomfortable and everything is going well. I bet you can't wait to see the little one! Let me know how things are progressing and I will talk to you soon.TTFN
