Hello
we are asking for your help in solving a horrible crime committed to
our dining room this afternoon. we came home and found our dining room
covered in tomato sauce and spaghetti. The prime suspect is not
traveling by foot, but in a vehicle with 4 wheels, which looks a lot like
a stroller. please do NOT approach the suspect, because he may be
dangerous. He is in possession of a weapon, most likely a spoon...
thank you
My name is Sabrina, but my friends call me Sabsi.
I'm originally from Germany (where I met my hubby) and have been living in the states since September '03.
My husband is in the army and we are currently stationed in Hawaii.
My hubby was deployed from September 2005 until September 2006. He survived an IED attack...thank the Lord!
We were planning on starting a family when he comes back.... After 'trying' for a couple of months we found out in December 2006 that we are expecting. Looks like our sweet baby was conceived on our 4th wedding anniversary :). so this baby is super special :)
In march 2007 we had our first ultrasound and found out that we are having a little boy :))!!
He's here!! :
Matthew-David Wolfgang H. born on Aug13th 2007 22.00h ... not fashionably late but perfect on time ;)
(David is my husbands grandfather and Wolfgang my German grandfather)
Birth story:
I've had pre-labor contractions for a week now and 3 false alarms with painful contractions coming every 5 minutes for more than an hour etc.
on august 13th:
Around 5 am I thought my water broke, it felt more like a trickle, than a gush. We wanted to wait for the contractions, before we head to the hospital, because we didn't want to stay there too long.
around 9 am the contractions still didnt start,so we left for the hospital to get myself checked out. after FIVE hours of waiting on an exam and blood test results,we were sent home and told, that the bag of waters had torn and repaired itself, but it wouldn't be long now. I was still only 1-2cm.
we came home around 3 pm and my husband went to go take a nap. I ate something and didn't feel well at all. all the sudden the contractions hit pretty bad. i had to get down on all fours,so it wouldn't hurt so bad.. With one contraction I felt a small gush and it was blood! I got scared, woke my hubby up and we left once more for the hospital. we got there around 7 pm and I got checked again. I was 3 cm and my bag of waters was still intact. we were told to walk around get some food. They also didnt have any beds free to admit me! The contractions started coming every 3-4 minutes and hurt terribly. I couldn't eat or concentrate on anything! we got back to the hospital around 9 pm and I got checked. I was 7 cm! and the nurse accidentally broke my water. the contractions came every 2 minutes and I was in so much pain. they brought me to my room and they started an IV. My husband went to admissions and came back about 40 minutes later and I was screaming that I have to push! they got everything set up.I started pushing. Baby's head started crowning, but he was stuck. his heartbeat went down and I lost all my strength and told them I couldn't do it anymore. (I had no pain relief!! I wanted some through my IV an hour ago,but they were waiting for the doctor's orders! they were so slow!!).they said: if he doesn't come with the next push, then we have to use instruments and that is when God gave me more strength, because I didn't want them to use any instruments. I pushed with everything in me and I delivered the head and then shoulders and he came out. they placed him on my belly and let "dad" cut the cord and took him away. I was so upset! they had to check him, because he was large and because he got stuck. He was a proud 9 Ibs 2.2oz! 20.5inches long.
I had a small tear and had to be stitched up. I didn't get to see him for almost an hour!! His dad had to tell me how he looks and I was so sad. finally they brought him to me and I was able to look at my precious gift!
Next time I will sign up with pain relief!! Or make sure I get to the hospital early enough!
well, I hope I got everything, I can't remember much, because I was so exhausted. but one he was born my energy soared!
But I tell you one thing, it really does feel like you have to make a huge nr. 2! but it feels more like you have to "poo" out a huge stone!
we are home since Wednesday and he is doing wonderful, so are his parents :)
Good luck to all of you and I hope you have an easy labor!
love to all!

Thursday, 16 October Bummer. I don't know what to suggest! I guess maybe he'll just calm down with age..?! It must be very difficult.
We're fine. Cormac is starting to walk and is delighted with himself. We recently started putting him to bed later and getting him up earlier in the morning in an effort to get him sleeping through the night again and so far so good. Hope it lasts...
That's good that Josh is visiting this weekend. It'll be nice for you guys to spend some time together as a family again. shosho -

Tuesday, 30 September aw Sabsi, I wan't so much to give you a BIG hug. I don't think anyone with half a brain would think less of you. You're going through an amazing struggle. When my first son was born, he cried, hit me pulled my hair. I thought, he KNOWS I'm gonna suck at being a mom!!! I was single, alone, a foster kid so I had no family to fall back on, just friends. I even contemplated if I should re-think adoption! YUP, I really did!! Can't imagine now ever wanting to give one of my children away, but it really was that bad.
I DO know how you feel. Honestly, I broke down and begged God, "if you're real, help me. Change my life, show me what in the world to do with this kid and I'll do it, I just need help". I sobbed for hours with my son screaming all the while!!
Well, in a few days different people started offering to help (un-asked). I got asked to dinner by an old lady. Old ladies are SMART ladies. They've been there, have experience not just opinions.
I started learning parenting skills that helped me to TEACH my son how to behave rather than be a victim of his behavior. It took a while but some changes were imediate. I began to read parenting resources like crazy, I would rather read a perenting book than watch my favorite t.v. show!! Now THAT was a miricle, lol!!
There is hope, Michael just graduated from the Aviation Academy with his private pilots lic. (how many 18 yr. olds can say that)!! He LOVES being a big brother, works full time, and is planning a future as a Pilot Instructor teaching others. Not bad for a little brat!! LOL!!!
And who but God could ever change my life so that I would end up in a career studying human developement!!! Not to to mention now having SIX +ONE ON THE WAY and loving every minute of it.
Take courage Sabsi, I'll be praying for you, and if you want my number, say the word, we moms gotta stick together. I can recomend some great books, etc.
Hugs,
Alisha sugarcubesandcottoncandy -
Monday, 29 September umm.. it could be part of the reason. but there could be more to it. you just need to be really sure. :) it will go a long way in shaping their future personalities.
and dont you worry. things will smoothen out. i will keep you in my prayers.
i love the smile on both of your faces. he look just soi adorable. Tilly -
Monday, 29 September Sabsi, it sounds like you really need some help and I don't blame you; there's NO way I could cope on my own. But if you can't get adequate support from your family, maybe you should try and get some professional help. I would speak to your health care provider and see if there's anything they can recommend. There may be support services out there that you're not aware of. I'm thinking of you. sugarcubesandcottoncandy -
Monday, 29 September Huggs. He is a wonderful child and you are a wonderful mommy. perhaps you should just speak to a counsellor and try and see about the behaviour and how to correct it. its a very simple thing really once you know how to go about it.
you will be in my prayers and so will your little one. excited-1st-time-mom -
