I've been happily married for 8 years. We have a 7 year old daughter. I was having mixed feeling for a while, wheather to have another one. This pregnancy was a surprise, and my family and I are very excited. Feels like I am starting over, but with each day, I'm growing more happy. I work part-time as a psychiatric nurse. My job is very interesting. I think this site is very cool. I wish I would have had access to a computer and a site like this with my first child!

you could always spell it like jearin so that the 'jar' would look more like the word 'bear' therefore be more likely to to be pronounced 'jear-in' but i dont think i like the way that looks as much...just a thought

Hi! Saw your comment about the name pronoucing. My husbands name is Jared (Jare-id), but people call him Jar-id(like the container for food). Your sons name sounds a lot like my husbands. I really don't think it matters how you spell it, people are still going to get it wrong sometimes. Spell it how you like it....thats all that matters anyways!! Hope this helps!

I feel the quick jerky movements throughout the day sometimes also. I wouldn't worry about it I have heard others talk about this too. I think it is just because they are getting bigger so we feel hands and elbows and knees and feet all moving.

71 is very good!! I had g diabetes with my last child. Not fun I feel your pain. I just drank nothing but water and tried to stay away from carbs. That seemed to do it for me. Well good luck, oh and if you love sweets like me, there is so much wonderful sugarfree candy out there now that is really good. Well don't get to down I know its agravating. I have to have another sugar test in 2 weeks to double check mine.

That stinks about the gestational diabetes. Hang in there, you don't have too much longer to go. I go in two days for my routine checkup and hope like heck they don't say something like 'Oh, by the way you failed your diabetes test.' They told me no news was good news and I haven't heard anything, so I'm crossing my fingers. I hope it isn't too hard on you. Best wishes! :o)

Sorry to hear that i had gestational diabetes with my daughter and really it was that bad I mean of coarse you have to watch what you eat and I had to poke myself like five times a day but I was able to contol it by diet so that was really good my daughter was healthy not big at all they told me that she was going to be 9lbs. And she came out 6lbs 1oz. I hope you don't let this get you down too much it will all be worth it in the end and goes away right after delivery at least it did in my case. Good luck let me know if you have any questions.

MommyJewels - Wednesday, 5 Mar
I'm sorry honey:( That is crappy. The last thing you want right now is someone telling you what to eat:( BOO... Hang in there.

Keep me posted on your results on the 3 hr test. I failed the 1hr and then passed the 3 hr. Sounds like you had quite a tough day the 3 hr sucks. have a good weekend.

mintea - Friday, 29 Feb
that sucks, I'm sorry your feeling bad. Fortunately, it will go away when the baby comes and you can do what you need to do so that you won't have it in the future. Sucks though. Especially now, when food seems like it makes the world go round for all of us. You can do it!

bbug - Tuesday, 26 Feb
Today i actually had to take the 3hr test b/c i failed the glucose test as well. I hate that drink, it upsets my stomach so bad every time and all i feel like doing is throwing up...especially since you have to fast for the test. My number was at 156 and i guess she said it was supposed to be at about 139ish? Anyway Good luck with the test!

thats exactly it!!! glass bottles? plastic? nipples? pumps? pacifier? how many!!! i will try to breast feed but didnt do well with my first, i was young though. even if i dont breast feed i hope to pump for a little while. i just printed off a new layette list and it says 4-6 bottles (4 oz and 8 oz size). t want to have this stuff on hand because i can assure you if i send trent out to get them in the midst of my tears and frustration, he'll get the wrong ones...LOL.

MommyJewels - Saturday, 23 Feb
Hi! Well my tummy has hard areas when the baby is pushing against it. I have had issues with pre-term labor. When you have a contraction your whole stomach is hard. If you lay back and do a half sit up with your hand on your tummy that is what a contraction will feel like. I know what you mean though...I put my hand down and it's hard as a rock. I gently push him and he moves and then my stomach feels normal. :)

tatianamommy08 - Wednesday, 20 Feb
I get that feeling too as if Caleb is pushing against my stomach, like his leg is stretched out. It makes it really hard and tight in one spot for a few seconds then goes away. Is that the baby or is that a Brax?? has anyone replied to you about your post??

jenlove - Thursday, 31 Jan
And happy sleeping to you! :) Let me know what you ultimately decide

jenlove - Wednesday, 30 Jan
I agree, I wake up sometimes and my Snoogle is wrapped around my neck. I don't even use it to sllep anymore, just on the couch when I'm watching TV. Hope you get some relief soon! Take care! :)

shannondawnb - Monday, 28 Jan
Hey, goodmorning, i know what you mean about 'nervous'. My first 'baby' is 15 now!i find myself hyped about how quickly the time is passing and then gulping at the whole uncertainty, pain and laboring experience. i didnt have any drugs with the first, i managed. i was young, stubborn and determined. this time im vulnerable and have found out the new town i live in doesnt do epidurals :(

Hi, thanks for the comment about the hip pain and sleeping...I guess I'll just have to tough it out cause there doesn't seem to bee a nice trick for this one. I was wondering how it works to be on a nursing schedule with a child? I just finished nursing school and I'll be taking my licensing exam in three weeks! Hurray! But it seems that maybe I should wait to get a job till next fall when the baby and I have both recovered from the birth. I'd like to start working right away, but suspect that the nurses on the unit I got hired onto might not like that I'd be taking off for maternity leave as soon as my new grad program is over...any suggestions?

racheleglasper - Wednesday, 23 Jan
I may have felt like that twice. My mom says that when she was pregnant with me she was always week and was at the point when she wanted to pass out. But she said that she had to keep beets in her cabinet. She says the juice from the beets helped her. I guess it has iron in it..I really think it may help let me know if it does. Rachele
