We are expecting our first child in October. I always thought that I would finish school, get married, buy a house, then have a baby, but that is not the plan that God had in mind.. I love the fact that I will be a mother soon. I have a large, loving family and know that my baby will have all the love in the world. I havent had the opportunity to be around many babies or even pregnant women, so everything is a first for me...

babies

So far my pregnancy has been really smooth. I truly can't complain. Financially being able to afford a baby , really stresses me out, but I am hoping from support from my family and friends. We live in a 1 bedroom apartment and wanted to try to get a house before the baby. However my credit is shot from student loans so it may be a tight squeeze for a while. I just dont care as long as my baby is healthy!!!

We had our big u/sits a girl

today !!!

She weighs a whole 8oz!!! Yay!!!

7/22/08 Third trimester here we come... I am taking a fussy baby class, a breastfeeding class, and a class on how to care for newborns. She is coming very soon and I want to make sure we are prepared !!

Yes the glucose test is something every woman is supposed to do between 26 and 30 weeks. It tests your bloodsugar levels. For me it was a simple finger poke one hour after eating a candy bar and a soda...that is the one hour test, if you fail that they will do a 3 hour test where you drink something they give you and test your blood 3 hours later. Good luck and if your dr hasn't said anything about it ask him at your upcomming appointment

youonly have a gloucse test if you nee one, the resons can include, having protine in ur urine, history of big babies, things like that

Yes, it is a standard test that all pregnant women must take. Good luck!

I got the good news of knowing I passed by 3 points. Anything over 3, I would have had to go for the 3 hour test.

I am sure you will be fine does big babies run in your family? If not you should be ok and I am surprised your doctor isnt giving you another US before birth they usually give you one a few weeks before to make sure everything is ok. I geuss they all are different. Good luck to you to!!

I did have an u/s at the beginning of the pregnancy at 6 weeks. He was measuring big then too. I guess we'll just have to see....!

I love the name Abigail too. We are naming our daughter Abigail Rose and will call her Abby for short. =)

Thanks for the info, I guess that makes sense. Yes- we definitely WILL lose it again. We will be sexy beasts (as Austin Powers would say) again in no time!

You can look up the poplularity of a name by state at the social security admin website... http://www.ssa.gov/OACT/babynames/

I was just looking on there yesterday and saw my baby's name, Logan, was #5 in my state last year! Oh, well.

mommy to boys - Tuesday, 15 July
I read your post about baby names...I have a friend who named her daughter Abigale and she is the only one I know, they call her Abi. If you like the name don't worry about other people thinking it is too popular. If you don't know anyone directly who has the name and you guys love it I say go for it.

Your belly pics are cute. :)
