Finally getting this wrote....
The morning of the 2nd I went to sleep a little before 2 a.m. I woke up briefly when my husband came to bed, and when I shifted positions I noticed my belly felt uncomfortable but I went back to sleep. I woke up again a little after 4 a.m. and it was much more uncomfortable and sort of crampy feeling. I got up and went to the restroom thinking maybe I just really have to pee. It did not go away. Than I ate some cereal after that to see if I was hungry. Still did not go away. Sometime in this time period my back really started to hurt and I noticed the pain was not continues, but would come and go. I had had “fake contractions" off and on for a week or two so I was not sure if it was real. I decided to take a shower to see if it helped it go away. They felt worse. It was now about 4:30. I got dressed and waited a while longer. When they seemed to be about 7 minutes apart I woke Beau up and made him time the contractions. This was at 5:13 a.m. They stayed 7 minutes for about half an hour but than they started to come at 5 minutes. We called the hospital and told us to wait an hour and if they continue at 5 minutes for an hour to go ahead and come in. So around 6:45 we locked the dog in his cage and left for the hospital. At this time the contractions were getting stronger (still able to keep standing through them) and they were 4 to 5 minutes apart. On the way there Beau missed the exit and had to turn around. He was so nervous it was cute! We got to the hospital and the maternity ward and when we walked up to the counter Beau said “we are here to have a baby". They got me in a room and took my temp and blood pressure and monitored the contractions and the baby's heart beat. They checked me and I was at 3 cms and 80% effaced. It was around 8 by this time. Beau than called his parents to let them know it was happening. The doctor arrived at about 9:30 to check me, and Beau's parents came around the same time. I was now 4cms and 90 % so the doctor went ahead and broke the water. It did not hurt at all. The labor continued and not to much after that I reached 5 cms and 100% effaced. The contractions were probably 2 to 3 minutes at this part. It was probably between 11and noon by this time. Within the next few hours I reached 7 cms but stayed there for a few hours. I was getting mild pain killers every hour or so at this time but I was told once I reached 8 that they would stop. By 4:30 my contractions were very strong and only a minute or so apart. I was getting very tired. Beau was great the whole time and held my hand and helped me breath through them. Lots of women do breathing patterns but I found that did not work for me so I counted, focusing on this spot on the ceiling and on the numbers. I figured you have to breathe to talk but conversation was not possible during contractions. Somewhere between 4:30 and 5 I decided to get an epidural. I thought it would hurt but the contractions were so painful I did not even feel the needle at all. I felt relief from the pain in minutes. For the first time since early that morning my back was not in agony. I could breathe again because all I was feeling was pressure every minute or so. I wanted to push down so badly but was told not to. It was hard to wait. . I quickly moved to 8 cms and than to 9 almost ten. Than around 6 I was allowed to start pushing. I spent the next half hour with just Beau the nurse and I in the room and around maybe 6:30 the doctor got there and pushing was hard. It hurt a lot even with epidural. Yes, I was screaming the last few minutes. They were using suction because I would push and she would move forward but when I stopped she would slide back a little. This was not getting her out though and I was exhausted. The doctor than did an episiotomy, and was able to pull her out. The nurse said “do you want to see the head" and I said “No, just get it out!" Than they pulled her out the rest of the way and laid her on me. She came out at 6:53 p.m. I was so tired and weak (and in pain) that I was not focusing on her. Beau was though and snapping lots of pictures. I did not have an instant feeling of bliss many women talk about; I just stared at her as I tried to catch my breath. They took her away to wipe her off and check her out. While they did this the doctor finished up with me and I was able to sit back and drink some water and all. When they gave her back to me I was much more receptive to her pretty baby -ness able to focus on her. The grandparents than got to come in and see her. I stayed up most of that night with her because she did not want to be sat down. She slept for hours on my chest while Beau slept. I was exhausted but I did not care because holding her was so wonderful and I could do nothing but thank god for this beautiful gift he gave me.

My name is Sarah and I am due early January. It says on here that I am due the 5th because my ultrasound around the 5th/6th week predicted January 5th but the one I had at 10 weeks said January 2nd. Since I had already told everyone January 5th I'm sticking to it although I think this baby is coming earlier than that. This is my first and my husband and I are very excited.

A little more about me.... I was born in Indiana but I grew up in Georgia and consider myself a southern girl. I am currently living in California and not really liking it. My husband and I are both military/ Army. He is an active duty psychological operations specialist and I am a reserve Military intelligence officer. In my civilian career I work for a Girl Scout council as a progran coordinator right now but I am transitioning to a different job title as our council merges with another. My degree is in Psychology but I'm not doing much with it right now. hmmm.. when I think of more I will write more. Thanks for reading!

Your labor prediction quiz results are below.....

Your baby will most likely be born in the morning. Justmommies predicts that your baby will weigh approximately 7.0 pounds and that your labor will be about 12 hours long.

I had that happen about a week ago so I poked and prodded at her then started crying, all of a sudden she started going cookoo. Good luck hope she moves soon.

stormy - Tuesday, 11 Dec
Drink some juice or something and lay on your left side if you have not felt her in a hour or so then I would worry. I am looking at my hospital discharge sheet and it says to call if there are less then 10 movements in 12 hours or a sudden change in fetal activity....Good luck, I hope she starts wiggling for ya!

stormy - Tuesday, 11 Dec
oh its good to hear you would not do it... I will never forget how miserable and painful it was!!! its true nothing will bring the baby out earlier then they want to!!! good luck and I hope you are doing well!

stormy - Tuesday, 11 Dec
I would avoid Castor oil unless you are over due it can become a very long and painful situation. I did it with my first and I will NEVER try it again even if its my last resort....I am totally serious. I CAN BE BAD!!! there are other techniques to try before that, I will email you the link when I get home!

My fiance. We've been together for three years now. Arianna is in school during the day though.

nanaleeleesmommy - Friday, 5 Oct
No, there haven't been any changes.. that definetly crossed my mind. She's been biting her nails for as long as I can remember but the chewing on her feet thing is fairly new. I don't know. I just don't think it is an ADD or ADHD issue. Maybe some form of OCD but I am not a doctor.

nanaleeleesmommy - Thursday, 4 Oct
No problem.. . I think it's going to be tons of fun!

stormy - Wednesday, 3 Oct
I have heard wearing support stockings and not crossing your legs to keep good circulation and get an aisle seat so you can go potty and move when needed!

sunnysiani - Wednesday, 3 Oct

stormy - Tuesday, 2 Oct
thats a great Idea and then if you don't like it you could either give it to someone else or sell it again!

stormy - Tuesday, 2 Oct
I don't think you would be making a bad decision getting one... I totally love mine and I have an off brand one!!! I recommend putting it on your shower registry... I have seen alot of people get them for a shower gift and if you don't if you get a gift card from a store you can purchase it with it!!!
