Ok so I figured that since i'm starting to progress into labour I would start a little log now. On the 17th Jan I woke up in the night with one cramp, and a little hip pain. The next morning I had my obgyn appointment where I was 2cm 50% effaced! YAY! Or so I thought... it's now a week later (the 23rd) and nothing progressed. I went to the doc a little while ago becauseI was possitive that I had to have some change due to groin pain, hip pain and just a feeling. But nothing, same as before.
Right now, I'm heading to the emerg with my mom because i've been up for the last 3 hours and babes hasn't moved once. I'm a little scared, but i'll let you know how it goes.

hi there, just seen your post in 37 weeks, just wanted to say try not to worry about the bay ( i know its hard) but my baby sometimes goes quiet on me, she has also changed her sleeping habits in the last 2 weeks, she used to be really quiet all day and really active on a night, but now she is the opposite, and some days i get to a certain time and think, oh god i haven't felt her move.
i think you're doing the right thing by seeing the doctor though as this is your first baby, and best to be on the safe side, ill be keeping my fingers crossed and thinking of you xx

jennifer21 - Wednesday, 23 Jan
Good luck. Try to stay calm. I hope everything is ok. Please let us know the outcome.

SRRiley - Wednesday, 23 Jan
Sounds like contractions, especially with stomach tightening. The added pain is probably from her sitting on a nerve, so when you contract, it presses her even harder on that nerve. If it gets too painful, or you are able to time it and they are close together (5 min) head to L&D. It sounds like just uncomfortable contractions. Hope it doesn't bother you too much!

KTPUM - Tuesday, 22 Jan
We haven't decided on a name yet, but McKenna is one that we really like but as you can see it is spelled a bit different.

KTPUM - Tuesday, 22 Jan
I feel ya there.. I am so ready, don't know how much longer I can take this. Did they give you an induction date if you haven't had her?

KTPUM - Tuesday, 22 Jan
Well, last week when I went to the Dr. I was only 60% and not dialated at all and within a week I dialated to 2. So, hopefully by my next apt. I'll be a 3 or a 4.. When is your next apt?

kristink21 - Tuesday, 22 Jan
Hey to be kinda encouraging but with my first daughter i was dialated to a 2 for just a week...we had a lot of sex in that week and boom she came that following thursday so it very well could happen that you only have a week left. Goodluck and congratulations!!

jennifer21 - Monday, 21 Jan
Hi there. I read your comment about being dialated. With both of my other pregnancies I was dialated 2 cm by like week 36-37 and still went 41 weeks with both of them so you never know when they will decide to come. I would tell your mom to wait. Usually you have a while before you deliver from when you start having contractions. Good luck.

baby bug - Monday, 21 Jan
Hi! I don't want to sound negative either, but with my first son I was 3 cm dilated for a month and he was 8 days late ( they even had to induce me). I had horrible contractions with that pregnancy for a full 6 weeks before my due date too. Hopefully your little girl will come soon, but don't think that way because if she is late, then it is more stressful for you playing the waiting game! She will come when she is ready, just enjoy this time when you can sleep in and put your feet up!! By the way, I have a male Dr. ( he delivered my second son and has been my Dr. for 5 years). He is fantastic and totally professional and I have never felt stressed about getting my internal exams. Good luck, let me know what your Dr says today!!

sheilamarie - Monday, 21 Jan
Oh yeah, and if this is your first baby, I hate to say it, but I was glad to know with my first, you can be dialated to 2 or 3cm for a month or more with your first. I'm so sorry to say that, but it's true. I was dialated to a 2 on my birthday with my first (FEB 5th) and didn't have him until March 19th. I was so excited to think that he might come on Valentine's Day, but ended up being 40 weeks and 1 day before having him. Best wishes... here's hoping your baby girl will come with the full moon tomorrow.

sheilamarie - Monday, 21 Jan
I love my man doctor. He's the best. And like the other girl said, he usually gets a woman nurse to come into the room when he goes exploring down 'south'. LOL No worries. Honestly, I find that they tend to be more sympathetic and understanding.

hi, gud luck with yur daughter and welcoming her into this world.

cami695 - Saturday, 19 Jan
Thats basically where I am, I think my dr told me it meant nothing because he knows I get all anxious and I will obsess about the birth if he tells me its going to happen soon. I wish you the best of luck for a healthy and hopefully quick delivery!

cami695 - Saturday, 19 Jan
I just saw that you are dialated, I am too and have been for a week and a half at least if not longer. My dr told me it meant nothing! I was like AGHHHH don't tell me that. I hope your midwife is right because I am ready to get this baby out too. Are you effaced at all?

misslisa - Saturday, 19 Jan
This is your first baby, so you can be 2 cm dialated for weeks. Sex is fine all the way to the very end as long as water hasn't broke. I was 2 cm dialated with my first for 2 weeks and didn't feel a single contraction until I was woken by them at 5 in the morning, and I had him 6 hours later. Your next baby, because you recognize the pain, you will feel it much much sooner.

sheilamarie - Saturday, 19 Jan
My ultrasound at 36 weeks showed that my baby was already 7lbs 7ozs and I'm generally petite. I asked for the opportunity to induce and they said it's not necessary. I cried (not in front of him) but nothing ever came of it. Now I'm planning on having a big ol' 8lber.

ethansmum - Friday, 18 Jan
I KNOW I FEEL LIKE A WALKING TIME BOMB, AND EVER SINCE MIDWIFE TOLD ME HOW LOW HE WAS ALL MY THOUGHTS ARE TOTALLY CONSUMED BY IT. I JUST WISH IT WOULD ALL START SO I CAN GET ON WITH DEALING WITH IT!!! I HAVE HAD NO CRAMPING TODAY JUST PRESSURE, SODS LAW-I BET I WILL GET INTO BED AND IT WILL START AGAIN. BEST WISHES X

momma2matthew - Friday, 18 Jan
I believe that more discharge is normal, I have had more...ask your doctor. I always ask my OB's office for answers to questions because I don't think anyone on here is a MD.

Boston27 - Thursday, 17 Jan
Seriously, this is the same exact case with my SIL. She has already had 2 kids and we have gone to everything for her, even her long college graduation!! BUT, she told my husband last night that Sundays (that is when the baby shower is) are her days to sleep. The shower starts at 2. So then my husband states that it starts late and she says she is too shy to be around girls she does not know. Seriously?!

JadeKiss - Wednesday, 16 Jan
Well, what I mean is you shouldn't let it hurt you.

You have every reason to be annoyed. I would say to her 'I've changed my mind, I'd like to have more privacy at the delivery..'

However, I still think you should do the professional photos. Reason being it might be a nice keepsake for your child in the future.

jessicag26 - Wednesday, 16 Jan
I liked Ethan also, but its like the #1 name everywhere...so I hate to have such a common name, what do you think about the two middle names (is it too much?) I just dont want to give him problems later on in life, like someone thinking his last name is Alan or something crazy like that, I just dont know how two middle names work, on like credit forms and such when it says middle initial, do you put two or just one or what...too confusing LOL! I just wanted him to have my dads middle name and my hubbys middle name.

JadeKiss - Wednesday, 16 Jan
Don't even let the shower situation bother you. My MIL was so jealous that she didn't send or gift or bother to show up.
