Hey all expected moms and dads!! My husband and I are expecting our first baby in August.
I though I would sit down and tell my story. My husband and I have been together for almost 5 years and in September we will be married for 4. I had always had a bad period. Cramping and throwing up. I was misdiagnosed for years. I finally went to a female ob/gyn (all my other doctors were male) and found out in 2005 that I had tumors in my uterus one the size of a cantaloupe( at that time my uterus was the size of a woman who was 7 months pregnant) . I had to have surgery to have some them removed. My doctor told me it would take a miracle for us to get pregnant. I tried the ovulation charts and everything. I had test ran to see if anything was wrong, and was told my left tube was closed. We had been trying for about a year when I decide to go back to grad school and change jobs (I was commuting 2 hours a day).I have to go to the ob/gyn every six month since I still have 2 tumors in there. I told my doctor that I wanted to go on birth control pills because I was I going to grad school in January.She told me that I was getting older and that I needed to start thinking about having children now if I still wanted to have them. On the way out one of the nurses said " See you in April unless you get pregnant before then". I missed starting my birth control pill in November and decided to start them in December. In December I had a feeling I was pregnant and told my sister. She told me to wait until January. Of course I couldn't wait. I took the first test right after Christmas. I was a faint line so I thought I wasn't pregnant. The next night I was up late( about 2:00 a.m.) and decided to take another look at the test and the faint blue line, I was pregnant!!!. I woke my husband up( he was in the middle of some good sleep) and told him I was pregnant. He said," Ok we will talk about it in the morning". I called my sister and she said the same thing. I called my best friend of 15 years and told her. She was the only on willing to get up and talk to me. The next day we went after Christmas shopping and brought another test and this time it only took 2 seconds for 2 lines to show up. When I went to the doctor, she jokily asked me was I still going to grad school. This baby is a real miracle baby. After have several large tumors removed and still having 2 in there, having an enlarged uterus, and only one tube opened I still got pregnant.
3/1/07 We went to hear the heartbeat today. Since I have tumor we couldn't hear the heartbeat, so my doctor gave us an ultrasound. This is the first time we have saw the baby. I had my first ultrasound @ 5.5 weeks and all we saw was the sac and the heartbeating. baby. Below is the ultrasound pic/strong>

Are you excited about the birth, or scared?: March 14- Yesterday I was sick and stayed home. This kid is working on me now. I haven't been sick up until now. We have 6 more weeks to wait to see what we are having and the wait is killing me. We are not going to decorate the nursery until we find out what we are having. Which is good, because it is now my husband's home office March 26- I went to the doctor on Friday. My blood pressure was good and as a total shock to me I had only gained one pound. I have been eating about 5 times a day. The baby's heartbeat was 150. They had a hard time drawing my blood, so my arms have black and blue bruises on them. I told her about the pain I was having in my lower stomach area and she told me it was my uterus expanding. She has scheduled my ultrasound for April 20th to find out what we are having. This is going to be a long 4 week http:///> April 2, 2007- Well today I feel like crap. I went looking in 2 JCpenny to find plus size maternity clothes. Do the clothing maker not think plus size woman get pregnent. I walked for hours trying to find shirts. I end up buying something that I'm going to take back. I'm going to order them off JCPenny.com. It just really made me mad that they didn't carry them in the stores. April 5, 2007 Well yesterday I had to leave work early. I was so sick I feel asleep @ my desk (it was my lunch hour). I couldn't believe it. All I remember was laying my head back and the next thing I knew I was waking up 15 minutes past my lunch hour. I called my husband and told him how sick I was and he said give it a couple minutes and to call him back if I didn't feel better. I waited another hour and went home. All I wanted to eat was some Frosted Flakes. After I eat I did feel a little better and watched TLC for the rest of the afternoon. I have never been that sick. I never had morning sickness. I guess the baby is making up for lost time.
April 18, 2007- EXCITING NEWS!!!!!!!!! My doctor's office called this morning and said that the ultrasound tech will be out on Friday ( when I'm suppose to have my ultrasound) and can I come this afternoon. I'm so excited to find out 2 day early!!! I will post tomorrow the baby's sex!!! April 19, 2007- p> My doctor's appointment went GREAT!! Besides from finding out that it is a girl, she is growing at the correct rate and she is 9 oz. They checked my tumors and they are not threating the baby and I have another appointment in 3 week and another untrasound 2 weeks after that.I also lost one pound so that brings the total weight gain to 4 pounds. I guess now I can go shop until I drop. | |
May 8, 2007- Hi Ladies. I know it's been a while since I updated you all. Well nothing exciting has happened. She is moving alot now and I feel her everyday. Her daddy likes to shake my stomach to make her move which upsets her and I end up paying for it. I have heartburn all the time. I keep a bottle to Tums in my purse at all times. So I guess according to the old wise tales, she will have a lot of hair. I haven't really brought anything ( I'm waiting on my baby shower that my sister and best friend will not give me any details on). I did buy some socks and a really nice swing. Below is a pic of it. I though we had decided on a name, but my husband changed his mind so we are back to the drawing board. Talk to you all later.
May 16, 2007- Had my doctor's appointment this morning. Everything is okay. Her heartbeat was between 165 and 170. We found out that we are going to have her on August 27th. My next doctor appointment is in three weeks and they will do another ultrasound to check the baby and my tumors to make sure they are not effecting the baby. Talk to you all soon.
June 21, 2007 Well ladies I didn't pass my gloucus test. I'm soooo sad. My doctor is faxing me what I can and can't eat. My baby shower is this weekend and I planned to menu'. I hope I'll be able to make it these last 66 days.
June 26, 2007 Well ladies had my baby shower over the weekend. Taylor got lots of clothes. I mean lots of clothes. She got 2 bath tubs, a bouncer, and some pampers and wipes. I was surprised that no one though to buy bottles, warmers or any of the other stuff I registered for. But that's ok. That was one of three I'm suppose to have. July 12, 2007- I went to the doctor's yesterday. Nothing exciting happened. My suger level is 78 and I lost 1 1/2 lbs. So now I weight less now than I did before I got pregnant. I got a litte scared when Taylor wasn't moving like she usually does. But when they checked her her heartbeat was good. I've have another doctor's appointment on the 25th and another ultrasound done to check her growth.
July 23, 2007- I'm so ready to leave my hellish job and go on maternity leave I have created a countdown for it. I'm thinking about commuting again. I hate my job that much. Taylor isn't allowing me much sleep. On the weekends, I really just lay around and rest. I sleep mostly during the day and I'm up most of the night. I hope once she gets here, that this isn't her sleeping pattern. If so mommy and daddy are going to be really tired.
July, 27, 2006 - I had a doctor's appointment on Wednesday. Taylor weights 4 pounds and is doing fine. The tumors are not affecting her. I have been home from work for the past two days with a cold. I have a runny nose and a sore throat. I'll be so gald when this pregnancy is over. My aunt made Taylor's baby bedding. Theroom theme is Baby Big Bird. 
September 1, 2007- I'm sorry I haven't updated in a while. Taylor arrived August 27 @ 11:57 a.m. She weighted 5 lbs 12.4 ozs. She is 17 3/4 inches long. I'm write my birth story later. I'm so happy Taylor is here. We stayed 4 days in the hospital and came home on Thursday morning. We have had a host of family and friends to visit. My mother-in-law couldn't be happier. She calls everyday to check on us. Below are some pic of us.
December 3, 2007- Hi everyone!!! I know it have been a long time since I have been on here. Taylor is not doind so well. We found out when she was a month old that she has a hole in her heart. She is going to have open heart surgery on December 21st. So she will send her first Christmas in the hospital, but she is getting the best gift of all, a working heart. I will post pic soon and I will keep everyone updated.
