Ok,

This is day one of my VIP page, so nothing too exciting here yet....

I am married to my best friend and soul mate Kevin and we are expecting our 4th child this summer. I have 3 wonderful, opinionated, spunky little girls already and will find out Thursday what the gender of our last child will be.

I am currently 18+ weeks pregnant and feeling great! The first trimester was horrid! I have re-established my relationship with food (mmm, food!) and am loving my round little belly.

I became pregnant quite by accident as I have an IUD inserted, which was supposed to be a my miracle birth control. Looks like it's giving me a miracle baby instead.

I was given a digital camera for Christmas and one day (soon) I will hook it up to my computer and share some pictures. Above is a picture of me and my first daughter, who was 6 at the time. I was just a few weeks pregnant at the time with the twins, but you can't see my belly yet. I'm sorry the quality is so awful but it's the only picture I had on my computer.

Take care everyone!

Thanks for visiting.

HOPpy Easter!

20 weeks and counting.... I had an ultrasound a week and a half ago, but this little peanut decided to sit cross legged and not reveal him/her self to us! I have a repeat ultrasound this Thursday so I am going to drink a giant coke and get the baby hopping! I'm just kidding, I can't stand pop! Or chocolate anymore so there goes my other caffeine option.... This baby is never awake in the morning so it will probably be the same as my last ultrasound. Too bad I can't book my appointment for 2am when this one really gets moving. Guess we will have to keep guessing. I really feel like this is a boy, but then I am convinced that I only think that because I have 3 girls already and am kinda sorta hoping this one is a boy.... I am thrilled that the final round of genetic testing is over and the results of that and my level 2 ultrasound were all normal. Isn't having a baby kind of like testing fate over and over? I can't believe that I am going to be a mother to 4 in a few short months. I am still loving my yoga class and my favourite food right now is peanut butter ice cream....mmmmmm.....

75 % chance of having a boy

Hmmm...every site predicts a boy...wonder if they are correct? Only 20 (or so...) more weeks until I know for sure!

Ok, this is the 4th day the kids have been home from school and I am going nuts! Missed my morning nap and I swear if I have to tell them to stop fighting one more time I am going to pull my hair out. Strangely, it is my 12 year old who makes the most trouble. Can you say attitude problem? And I thought my hormones were crazy...lol! This little peanut is kicking up a storm and dancing on my bladder. At my last ultrasound s/he was head down and with my girls they were all head up so I am getting kicked in strange places! I can't believe I am passed the halfway point already! Time sure flies.

20 weeks & 0 day pregnant. Only 140 days to go!

Tomorrow morning is my big ultrasound! Wish me luck...

Today I felt the baby move from the outside today for the first time. It was so amazing. I was laying down with my hand on my belly (my usual position these days, lol) and at first I didn't realize I was feeling the movements on my hand and not inside like usual. It was a gentle nudge, nudge, I'm here mom. I pushed a bit harder with my hand in response and the little peanut moved to the other side of my uterus. Then, another push, push, nudge. I pushed back and again s/he moved away. It was like we were playing this private game. Makes all the morning sickness and other ailments worth it, doesn't it?

POSITION:
Mother, Mom, Mama, Mommy, Ma

JOB DESCRIPTION:
Long term, team players needed, for challenging permanent work in an, often chaotic environment. Candidates must possess excellent communication and organizational skills and be willing to work variable hours, which will include evenings and weekends and frequent 24 hour shifts on call. Some overnight travel required, including trips to primitive camping sites on rainy weekends and endless sports tournaments in far away cities. Travel expenses not reimbursed. Extensive courier duties also required.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
The rest of your life. Must be willing to be hated, at least temporarily, until someone needs $5. Must be willing to possess the physical stamina of a pack mule and be able to go from zero to 60 mph in three seconds flat in case, this time, the screams from the backyard are not someone just crying wolf. Must be willing to face stimulating technical challenges, such as small gadget repair, mysteriously sluggish toilets and stuck zippers. Must screen phone calls, maintain calendars and coordinate production of multiple homework projects. Must have ability to plan and organize social gatherings for clients of all ages and mental outlooks. Must handle assembly and product safety testing of a half million cheap, plastic toys, and battery operated devices. Must always hope for the best but be prepared for the worst. Must assume final, complete accountability for the quality of the end product. Responsibilities also include floor maintenance and janitorial work throughout the facility.

POSSIBILITY FOR ADVANCEMENT & PROMOTION:
Virtually none. Your job is to remain in the same position for years, without complaining, constantly retraining and updating your skills, so that those in your charge can ultimately surpass you

PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE:

None required unfortunately. On-the-job training offered on a continually exhausting basis.

WAGES AND COMPENSATION:
You pay them! Offering frequent raises and bonuses. A balloon payment is due when they turn 18. When you die, you give them whatever is left. The oddest thing about this reverse-salary scheme is that you actually enjoy it and wish you could only do more.

BENEFITS:
While no health or dental insurance, no pension, no tuition reimbursement, no paid holidays and no stock options are offered;
this job supplies limitless opportunities for personal growth and free hugs for life if you play your cards right

Couldn't sleep a wink last night... Well, I must have at some point because I dreamt that I had a baby girl, but it wasn't mine, it was Anna Nicole's daughter...I guess I watch entertainment tonight waaaayyy too much LOL! I filled my bladder and was super early for my appointment. It was a new office I haven't been to before and there were signs posted EVERYWHERE stating that the gender of the fetus could not be disclosed....what a disappointment. However, after the exam - and gosh was she thorough - my bladder was ready to pop! she asked me if I wanted to know the gender. Well, duh. Yes, I did! So, she peeked...and she saw...a ..... penis! I am having a boy after all! Yay! So all the predictions were correct! After 3 daughters I am thrilled to be welcoming a boy into our family in a few short months. Hope you are all having a day as great as mine! Hugs ((()))

Are the predictions correct? Is this baby a boy? Or, is my daughter right and this is her baby sister?
Yes, that's your son swimming in there.
She's right , this is another girl!
Hey lady! Why so impatient? Wait the 3.5mths and see for yourself?
Your baby will weigh 11pds...oops! That's another poll sorry!

April 23rd

Wow. Time flies! But some days it seems to go so slowly... I am in week 23. Lately I have been having trouble breathing. It's like I can never catch my breath. I found out my placenta is anterior so I don't feel a lot of movements. What I do feel from time to time is his little foot pushing out the bottom under my placenta. It's so strange because with my other pregnancies I felt the girls moving all over the place. To just feel tiny kicks and pushes from one foot in a very small and always the same place on my tummy is quite strange. Already we are fighting for space...and he is not that big yet! I like to sleep on my side with my leg up. He does not like my leg to be on my stomach. When he is not comfortable boy do you know it!! It may only be one foot that I feel, but he sure makes sure I know he's not happy in there! He won't stop with the persistent kick, kick, kick until I move my leg back down. But then, I am not comfortable.... They bumped up my due date a few days because I am measuring big. Not looking forward to being big and uncomfortable in the heat of summer. I plan to spend many days at the beach! Ok, signing off now. Don't forget to take my poll! Thanks.

Finally made it to the home stretch... 3rd trimester yipee!

I know I resemble nothing of the picture I posted (for now)... that was me with my DH, pre pregnancy...it was (is?) my favourite dress and although I can't squeeze it past my knees anymore I thought it would give me an ego boost to see it since I can't wear it...

Pregnancy wise, things are good.Aside from the extra weight I feel amazing!Sometimes, I forget I am pregnant - I have zero symptoms!A drastic change from the first trimester....

Baby is active almost all the time.He gets up at 11am and 11pm, like clockwork every day.I wonder if that will stick?

I went to my daughters school fun fair and had my belly covered in henna. If you ever get the chance you should try it - it looks real pretty!

Ok, that's it girls... back to work for me.

Ok ladies, here's my story....

Wednesday morning my water broke, quite comically in front of my husband who was shocked to say the least! But no contractions followed. I was supposed to see my midwife for a regular appointment at 12:30 that afternoon. I went a bit earlier and found I was 2cm dialated. Not very encouraging since I was 2cm for about a week, but I was 80% effaced.

She suggested some walking so my hubby and I hit Square One. I had to stop frequently to change pads as my water kept gushing and I had many contractions throughout our trip but nothing to really get excited about, to say this is it. We headed towards lakeshore and walked around there too. Still nothing. I would have a contraction, then another, then none for an hour. We decided to go back home to try and get a nap. I slept between contractions and requests for popsicles (from the girls) for about 2hrs. At 8pm, the 12 hour mark, still no real labour. My midwife and I started to discuss our options and what would happen when (if) we hit the 24hr mark. It seemed very discouraging.

At 9:30 I had 6 contractions, all 3 minutes apart. Was this it? My sweet Keonna got out her "counteractions" book and started timing. I called my midwife and she suggested I come in to the hospital. On the way, my contractions stopped. A quick check - still 2cm! She stretched me to 3 and said let's see what happens....

At 11ish still 3cm....

Stretched to 4.....

1:17am...still 4 cm.

My contractions were all over the board. Some intense, some not so much. Kevin was bored. The midwife was sleepy. It looked like we might go home.

Then....

2am -3am......4 to 10cm in about an hour.

Ok, now things are moving....

VBAC protocol states that I had to have continuous fetal monitoring, but the midwife was great about letting me get into whatever position felt good. I liked the rocking motion of the birthing ball, felt really good almost downward dog with Kevin pushing my hips together to relieve the intense back contractions I was having, but much preferred the coolness of the bathroom with the stability of the toilet under me.

Baby was sunny side up and presenting with his head at an odd angle. It made for a very long and difficult pushing stage. His head just wouldn't slip under the bone. My midwife was trying to reposition him, but he kept moving back into the position he liked....

So, just to recap in case you weren't paying attention, I was having contractions that were too short (20-30 seconds in duration) to really be effective, my midwife had her hand up my who-ha trying to reposition a baby who was dancing around like it was Mardi Gras....it was crazy!

Finally, we moved to the birthing stool. I was sitting on top of the bed, on the stool, like some amazon princess warrior women. I had a mirror placed in front of me and both midwives and Kevin were around me, supporting my legs and calling out encouragement.

I was trying to pull Kevins hand, but instead of giving me the resistance I wanted, he very softly tried to hold and rub my hand. He was distracted by the head which was very visible in the mirror, but still sliding back up between contractions. I wasn't able to articulate that I needed something to grab and just by chance managed to grab the midwifes hand and when I pulled, she pulled back. It was this crazy tug of war, with me visualizing that I was one of those wooden women that are carved on the front of boats. Each surge was a wave, I was finally in control and able to make progress.

4:47am - Mr. Man makes his arrival. It was amazing to see and feel every sensation. I held him on my chest which was the one thing I missed with my other children. I was in love. It was instant. The pain was over immediately.

Baby had wet lung and spent some time in the special care nursery, and I had to have an emergency D&C because the IUD was not expelled. It decided to mock me instead! Ha ha...baby's out, I'm still here....(I mean really, give it up already, you lost the battle and the war!!) but that's another story....

We are home, doing well and loving every minute together. I am blissfully happy and so glad that this little surprise has come into my life.

And yes, Syce comes from the dream....

First name is Kiivyn, pronounced KEY-VIN.

He's lovely.

Hi there,

I work for a television production company based in the UK . We are currently making a documentary for ITV1 exploring the issues surrounding pregnancy and eating disorders. The film will be a thoughtful and insightful look into this extremely sensitive subject.

We’re in the research stage of our production and very keen to chat to women who are, or have been, pregnant whilst having an eating disorder.

If you’re interested in having a chat or finding out more about our documentary, it would be really great to hear from you. All communication would be in complete confidence.

You can contact me on: seema.modhvadia@rdftelevision.com
