My SO is driving me insane...He hasnt got a job and everytime i mention the fact that he needs to get one before the baby comes he gets depressed. I have enough on my plate without him being sad and depressed all the time. His djing gigs and small odd jobs arent making enough money and i need him to be a man and grow some balls and get a job..i just dont know what else to do or say to him. Ive asked and begged and threatened. So i give up.

Well as christmas draws closer..im actually feeling more stressed out. Money is very tight and im not sure my SO understands how tight. Its ridiculous. Maybe i just need to chill but i feel very stressed. Also i know im pregnant but im getting upset that clothes arent fitting me anymore. Lol strange that i want a big stomach but get upset when my clothes dont fit. I think its also because i dont have money to buy clothes...So im wearing alot of jeans and dying of heat because its summer in South africa now. Oh well as long as the baby is well thats all that matters.

Tuesday, 29 Jan

Well last week thursday we found out our baby is a girl. Im so happy. So her name will be Isabella Dawn. Im starting to get restless at night and tired during the day. Ive have made myself some dresses and skirts so i dont boil up. I also found out last week thursday that i am RH Negative..which is not great but it will be fine..hated that glucose drink it got stuck in the back of my throat and i couldnt drink or eat anything for an hour. From the scan the nurse told me my baby is weighing 2.3 kilos at the moment..scary is that if she keeps picking up weight and is born on her due date she will be 4.3 kilos..thats huge. Oh and my SO is looking hard for a job. So things are looking good.

Monday, 2 June

Well almost 3 months since i gave birth to the love of my life. I swear that I cant imagine life without my baby Isabella...she means the world to me. Ive been back at work now for a month and i am very blessed since i can take Isabella with me but that is also a problem because she is alot of work (not that i dont know all babies are alot of hard work) Although being a Personal Assistant is very hard when you are trying to type and hold your wiggly 2 month old and answering phone while making sure she isnt crying is a little hard and by the time i have finished feeding and changing her and keeping her occupied and i get to do actual work i get less then half done then what i used to get done. But i love that she is with me all the time, although when i get home i am sooo tired and after washing bottle and expressing and bathing her and reading her a bedtime story and cooking and eating ...im so pooped and then i still only go to bed at 10 pm everynight and then get woken up about 2-3 times during the night and then it happens all over again, Thats y sometimes it is nice to come home and give her to daddy while i take a nice hot shower and express and wash bottles. I feel almost human again. All those single moms out there i give you a serious badge...You are amazing because i dont know how i would cope without Brad. So Basically im happy Isabella is 6 kgs and is turnign 3 months on the 13th of june. She is getting so big and smilling all the time she also doesnt like to lie still at all and always wants to be on the move constently ...she is happy when she is sitting/standing with mommy or daddy or going out shopping she is always looking around and her neck is so strong as well as her legs and she loves to kick. I hope all of you mommies little ones are just as fiesty as Isabella is..its a really good sign. Well she needs a bum change ....Mommy to the rescue.

isn't it amazing how men can completely zone out into the tv or computer and not hear anything. Even if you say their name or something about sex...still nothing. It will never cease to fascinate me. Thanks for letting me know i'm not alone. It's great but also somewhat disappointing to hear that i'm not the only one that is doing almost all the work and has to force the baby on my significant other.

Thanks for the comment about my son biting me while he's eating...I will definitely try that!

You know, I would have thought so too but here we have stage 1 meats so I bought them. Luckily, at Cole's 4 month visit, I mentioned that I had purchased the meat. My doc just about had a coronary! She said that babies cannot process meat until at least 7 months of age. I felt so dumb but b/c it was stage 1, I assumed it was OK. Shoot...spit up run!

I use commercial food only at this point. We are advised here not to introduce yogurt products until 10 months. So odd! We tend to thicken a lot of the foods up for Cole with rice too as they mostly seem too runny.

Do you make your own food?

momoffive - Saturday, 6 September
for your question about finger foods, if baby doesn't have any teeth, gerber bitter biscuts and zweback toast are great. I give Sam bagel chunks to knaw on but you have to watch closly to make sure they just gum it and don't get any chunks. He thinks there great but gets really mad when he starts breaking off pieces and I have to take it away :-) Saltines are good and closer to 6 months plain cherrios are the best finger food EVER. With all food, make sure you watch closely. The key is making sure they are things that disolve very quickly in all of there drool and you scoop out any pieces that might break off if they aren't disolving. Finger foods are a ton of fun and make great pictures! Enjoy.

I haven't started him on finger foods yet but was curious as o when you should start as well. He has one tooth so I am guessing that when they get a couple teeth you can start maybe giving them like those little cookies to munch on for starters? Then as they get more teeth they can start to eat more stuff.

jenn1022 - Friday, 5 September
Aww she is super cute!! :)

kbpc3949 - Friday, 5 September
Is your baby ready for that? We seem so far off from that.

kbpc3949 - Friday, 5 September
I am with ya, the food Cole eats is like soup. Furthermore, I feed him. I think finger foods are suppose to be things he can do himself, right? God, I just can't get use to the idea of me handing him something and him eating it without choking or something.

babyjayden - Monday, 1 September
I know how you feel! Jayden doesn't want anybody but me. I just want a full night of sleep but he wont take a bottle so my fiancee cant help. Urg sometimes I just feel so burnt out.

Rowan isn't refusing other people yet, but I KNOW HOW YOU FEEL with trying to get a break from the baby. You need one and it makes you like them better and improves your ability to care for them, especially when they decide crying is the only noise they wish to make for an hour at a time. My husband gets the exact same way. He gets all offended when Rowan won't look at him (he prefers cieling fans and lights, anything interesting really) and claims that Rowan doesn't like him... It's pretty pathetic and I just give him the baby and walk away. I know he's great with him, but i swear that men have more mood issues than any woman i've ever met. Hope that helps! take care of yourself and you'll take better care of the little one.

Yey I am in SA...up her meals...I would suggest you increase her cereal in the morning to 6 spoons , give her apple or carrot for lunch , about 12h00 and give her cereal again at about 17h00 6teaspoons..you will be amazed..try to not cut down on the bottles..I know it sounds like force feeding, I was also quite sceptical, but I foound out by accident as Logan started screaming for more food one night(he use to eat veg at 16h00) so I had no more defrosted and the first thing I could think of to be quick (you know they dont have patience) I made cereal. He slept much better that same night. The next night I gave him cereal only , and it worked. He now has veg for lunch, I think the cereal at night is more filling. We tent to expect babies will eat the same amount for ages. Not to say, poor me getting up, but big babies get hungry. thats why she refuses the dummy I think. the bottle makes her tummy full. Logan did the same..Also is she an active baby? Logan is , they burns more calories ...Trust your instincts... I am not saying it will defirnately work, but one or two days of changing what she eats cannot harm I am sure. Also about waiting, I woudl not wait. Every baby is different. Some people start solids at 6 months only, Logan started at 4, he was hungry, How can I deny him food? Personal opinion I suppose. A friend of mine had a girl who is almost 3. She refused to introduce solids before 6 months. Little baby kept waking up, now she has terrible sleeping habits cause she was so use to waking up. She still does not sleep through, and needs a bottle. Same friend had a baby 2 months ago. She mentioned the other day, that she will not make the same mistake again. She said as soon as Adam starts looking for food she will feed as much as he wants.. There is also another story of a four year old waking up all night, so his mom started giving him a bowl of cereal AFTER dinner , and ..no more sleep problems. He was hungry. Not trying to convince you. Anyways, where do you live in SA?

Do you live in SA?

*Dee* - Monday, 25 August
Hi there, is Isabella on solids..she might be hungry and that is why shes waking up. She sounds like a big girl! If she is, increase it. Logan was waking up about 10 times at a point. I increased his meals....last night he slept right through!!!! He was hungry. she is too, thats why she wants her bottle. Try it, nothing too loose hey?

*Dee* - Friday, 22 August
Mmm Meals , what a debat it can be. I think it depends on each baby. Logan wa born 10 march. He is a big boy and has been on solids from 3months and 3 weeks. i started with 4 tsp rice cereal each day, then increased to cereal in the morning and veg at 16h00. He has been eating solids for about six weeks now, and eats 8tsp ceral for bfst about 125ml fruit/veg for lunch 12h00, and 8tsp cereal at16h00, plus all his bottles. He weights 9kg at the moment (not fat just big). So I would say introduce and increase over a few weeks . I foudn Logan would wake up for extra bottle if he did not eat enough. last weeks I doubles hes meals (as above ) and now he almost sleep right through. Remember Mom know what best for he baby!
