I am Active Duty Air Force
I work as a Weather Forecaster in England right now
I have one daughter already, she'll be 4 in May
I'm married to an Active Duty Air Force Security Forces individual
Our 5 year wedding anniversary is this July

3/10- Just got back from a weekend in Paris, it was amazing, let myself have a glass of wine with dinner both nights and I had a cappucino and frappucino saturday but I'm not worried. I had loads of caffeine throughout my last pregnancy and she turned out just great! So this one will be fine as well. And as much as this one has been kicking lately I think he liked it!
I'm getting my ultrasound next week since hubby might be leaving before the other one was scheduled so I'm thrilled about that, so I should know next week!! If not I guess I'll just have to pay for a 3d one, but I'm not too concerned, baby has been kicking so don't think he's very shy! Oh yeah and I believe in power of positive thinking, hence I call him a he, while my hubby tries to make me say it, but I refuse!

03/17- Working the night shift this week, as the hubby gets ready to deploy, who thinks of this shit really! Nothing like letting a pregnant woman spend nightime with her husband when he's about to leave for 6 months, that's just crazy talk! Damn Idiots all of them!
On a plus side I have my ultrasound this week so we should hopefully be able to tell what we are having!! That makes me happy, and anxious, I really want a boy sometimes but others I'm ok with a girl, either way as long as it's healthy then it doesn't really matter too much to me in the long run.
We've already got the crib so that can be put up tomorrow so I don't have to worry about messing it up while the hubby is gone, that's what guys are for right, mowing the lawn, putting things together and making babies!! :-)

03/18- I am so hating my boss right now, I mean who seriously puts a woman on the night shift when her hubby is leaving for 6 mths that week, come on! And then has the audacity to pick apart little things that are done wrong when no information is done on how to do them, it's called taking some responsibility try it sometime! So hubby is leaving in like 26 hrs and I'll be at work for about 12 of them, sleeping for like 8 of the other ones and get to spend about 6 hrs with him, part of which he'll be putting together the crib for me so I won't have to do it later on. I feel justified in being cranky but I don't think others get it...idiots!

03/19- It's a boy!!! I'm so excited the technician said we are having a boy, 95% sure as they can never be 100% ya know but still I was so excited to hear that!! Yeah now I can finish my baby registry, woo hoo!!! This almost makes up for the fact hubby is gone now, almost...

OMG yes yes yes! That's exactly why I think I'd love it there! We are traveling fools. I would love to see Paris, Rome, Germany, Ireland... I'm addicted to the travel channel. I doubt we'll ever get stationed there cuz hubby says he's not interested in working the F-15 mission, but I guess I forgot to inform him that MY happiness is all that matters, duuhh! HaHa LoL. We're stationed in Las Vegas right now and I dont like it very much. I think it's cuz we're "east coast" people. However, I really appreciate being able to stay in one place long enough for our daughter to do all her high school years in ONE frickin school. When she graduates and leaves home I don’t care where we PCS to next. I just look forward to living on-base. When kids are babies, you can live on base and not have to worry about what school district to live in. You can enjoy all the amenities of the base and feel somewhat safe. Sounds stupid, I know, but I truly miss the BX, the commissary, MWR activities… OMG I miss having a gym where I don’t have to pay a monthly membership!! But now everytime we PCS we have to make sure we move into a good school district in a good off-base neighborhood. Sure, we could live on the base but military bases are almost NEVER inside of a good school district. So we usually end up having to live about an hour away from the base. Commuting wasn’t a big deal until gas prices started kicking our butts!

Aww, that is sweet. A lot of people think that dogs, especially bigger dogs, shouldn't be around infants, but I don't think that is right. A lot of good dogs are big. Daisy, she surprised me. Sometimes I have to tell her NO because she is being TOO loving. She wouldn't harm Danielle at all. When she cries, it's so cute, because she does that cocking the head to the side thing like "WHY IS MY LITTLE SISTER CRYING?" I have pictures on my myspace (http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewprofile&friendid=151130823) of Daisy looking in her crib and licking her toes...its so precious..

I hope your next shower will be a little more of what you're wishing for. Keep me updated on how it goes.

We did the, or I should say tried, the baby food tasting game at my shower last weekend. About half the people were willing to taste it or try it. Keep in mind, you'll want to either put it on little plates for them individually. Otherwise they'll be dipping their spoons back in the jar after they've already had the spoon in their mouth.

What we did was put the jars on a tray, put a bunch of disposable spoons on the tray and one spoon in each jar. We then told people to take the spoon in the jar and drop the baby food onto their own spoon so there was no touching. Does that make sense? :)

Also on the getting out hing, there was a study, if you get out b4 10 yrs, you have a 50/50 shot of making more money than if you stayed in, if your in over 10 and get out you only have a 10% chance of doing as well as if you stayed in. I figure, at the end of this enlistment he will have done eight, and and I will have done 6 1/2. So he is cutting it a bit close, at least he has a job that translates into a civilian career, I looked it up online, and if we could travel to where his jobs are, there are alot of ppl wanting to hire aircraft structural maintainers. The problem is with me staying in, what are the chances he can get a job where I am stationed? Grr... Kids makes this harder, as we cannot take the risks we might have if we didn't have to worry about supporting our daughter, but I still wouldn't give her up for the world!

sugarmomma - Monday, 2 June
Hey yea, I was an Intelligence Analyst. My husband’s the same but he got commissioned a few years ago, so now he’s an Intelligence Officer.

If you’re thinking about commissioning here’s some insight (me observing my hubby go through it)… it’s the rank adjustment, more than anything, that takes some getting used to. When you’re enlisted you could be SSgt, TSgt, NCOIC of the shop, NCO of the year, blah blah blah. But as soon as you cross over and slap on that butter bar you’re back to the bottom of the totem pole and prone to being judged as just another dumb LT. But it doesn’t last long, eventually people realize you’re prior-enlisted so therefore you have a clue. And when ya pin on Capt… nobody cares. LoL. I would say, if you’re gonna do it, do it asap and while you’re young. Hubby was a TSgt when he got accepted to OTS so that meant he was the “old guy” in a sea of “college babies”. And pick the same career… if you like being a Weather troop then apply for Weather Officer so you stay in your comfort zone, assuming your degree is in Weather/Meteorology. To be honest I was skeptical at first when he said he wanted to cross over. I’ve never wanted to be an officer’s wife… ew! Hell no, I wanted to be a Chief’s wife!!! HaHaHa.LoL. But he did this for our family’s future so I wouldn’t change a thing. In the long run, its definitely worth it. But me, if my dumbass hadn't gotten out, I would've been very much content staying enlisted!
Hey, you’re at Lakenheath/Mildenhall, right? That’s where I wanna go next!! How do ya like it there??

rookie - Monday, 2 June
That's great that you got all that stuff for free or good prices. None of our families live near us either, but they all sent items either through the mail or called Babies R US and ordered it directly then my Mom picked it up and wrapped it.

I know you're getting excited to have another one. I can't wait to meet my little guy.

rookie - Monday, 2 June
Hi, My shower went really well, thanks. I received great presents, all the big stuff except a swing. My parents bought the crib and my husbands bought the changing table/dresser combo. Then lots of all the other stuff like clothes, bib, blankets, etc.

And, the baseball theme food went over really well. Everyone enjoyed it. We had hot dogs, smoked sausage, grilled onions/peppers, sauerkraut, nachos/cheese, popcorn and fruit shish-ka-bobs (yummy).

How are you?

brown-eyes - Monday, 2 June
