Friday, 1 August Thank you! It's a busy time right now with my sil having her baby today. It's hard to ask my husband's family to watch our toddler right now since his sister just had a baby. They're a little preoccupied, but happy to help. My family doesn't live near us. Oh well...I'm just ready to go in tomorrow and get this over with. I can't wait to hug and kiss him! Good luck to you too! mommyforlife -

Thursday, 31 July Hiiiiiiiiii! Did you see Ron Paul on Glenn Beck? He's mah boy! America's so stupid--just continuing on with the same old shitty choices for leaders while prices go up, the value of the dollar plummets, and the approved-for-drilling land which could bring us out of this oil crisis eventually is left alone. That state treasurer in Missouri was inspirational.
I still think Little John and Gavin's birthdays will be really close together. Less than 24 hours left in July, so YAY, I'm going to have my August baby unless something really sudden happens! I'd LOVE to have him on my birthday (Monday). It's started dawning on me that I'll share a birthday with a lot of the babies in our regular group. I know for a fact on a few of them since they're being induced.
How are you feeling today? What have you been doing with yourself? I haven't been around much these past few days. We had dinner with his cousin and his cousin's husband on Monday night, Dr. on Tuesday, hung out with my dad today (Wednesday--haven't gone to bed yet--it's really Thursday), and so I am looking forward to relative serenity for today and tomorrow. I think John's getting REALLY impatient to love on Little John the way Tim's been getting about Gavin. John keeps trying to schedule all this stuff to do--I think he's trying to get the time to pass. It's sweet.
Have your symptoms that were bothering you before your app't. continued to ease up? I hope so. Any changes today? SarahTook4YearsFord -
Thursday, 31 July Hey there, Snuggles! The people at the hospital told us that they don't have an in-house person who does that anymore. I'd ask your OB and maybe call your hospital to see what they do. I think the way it works nowadays is that you call your pediatrician and ask what they do--either they'll send someone called a "hospitalist" (which I'd never heard of until our Lamaze class) to the hospital to do it or else they'll have you come in during the first week of Gavin's life to have it done at their office. :) whatwillitbe -
Thursday, 31 July I have a gazillion bottles! all different types. Everyone bought bottles for me! I haven't really looked at them to know the brands and all that. However, my aunt bought me this pack of freezer things. They hook to the breastpump and fill up, then you can freeze them like the playtex inserts, and you can put them in some bottles, not sure which ones. Or you can pour the pouch into a bottle if the insert doesn't fit. I don't mind women breastfeeding in public either, as long as they cover up the boob! I served at a restaurant, and I walked up to the table and this woman just had her boob hanging out, no baby attached, looking over the menu like it was no big deal! I literally had to walk away from the table! my aunt got me this thing, her friend makes them...its like a cape that goes over the front of you to cover you and the baby, but it ties around your neck, and there is a piece of plastic in the collar to hold it out where you can see the baby, but nobody can see your business! It also has little pockets on the inside for nursing pads, nipple cream, and stuff. It's actually really cool. I wish I had more people to give me advice lol! Everyone complains because their in-laws, and family members always give their opinions. Nobody in my family really tells me anything useful. My cousin has two small kids 4 yrs and 20 months, she has been very useful. Other than that nobody gives me any useful suggestions or advice!
I have a couple pacifiers as well. Someone bought me those also. I hope they ask me before they just give him one.
I also need to call and schedule appointements with a peditrician. I'm going to go to the same one my cousin goes to. I just have to do my set-up visit and all. I guess I need one at the hospital to do the circumcision.
I don't know anything about the immunizations, but I guess i'll ask around and see what everyone thinks. I just read about what ages they get their shots. I think it listed 4 of them before they were 6 months old. Then everything else is after 6 months. I'll have to look into it. whatwillitbe -
Thursday, 31 July i totally agree! im gonna try! it doesnt always work for everyone though...after 3 weeks i will get my breast pump (if i wait 3 weeks it will be free!) and i will pump into bottles. That way dad, grandma, great-grandma, aunts and uncles can all join in the fun lol!! we're all really close here i see my brothers and sister and mom and grands every single day!! so they will have alot to do! plus like you said, i'm not gonna be the only one gettin up in the middle of the night!lol i hear giving them a bottle will help wheen (sp?) them off of the breast also..but idk...i didnt buy any formula just in case!!! uh-oh! he might be a hungry little boy if he wont take my milk lol!
I also don't want to give him a pacifier, but i've seen then come out of the hospital sometimes and the nurse gives them one, do you know if they automatically do that or if they will ask you first? mommyforlife -

Wednesday, 30 July Hiya, Bugglesnug! I've been at my Dad's house today, watching slides of the early 70s--my early childhood. Sigh... I got a good night of sleep last night, but at my Dad's, I started being afraid that I was going to fall asleep in the chair and not make the most of my time with him. I'll have to go see what I've been missing in the forum. Hey, how's your iron? From my experience, every time I hear about someone feeling really lethargic, I wonder how her iron level is. *3rdtimesacharm* -

Wednesday, 30 July Yea ive said that too...and sometimes it happens. My sis was at the hospital for hours being monitored and wasnt progressing so they sent her home.We live 30mins from that hospital and she begged me to call them and talk to them so I did and they said if she wanted to come back then they would take her but send her home again if she didnt progress....well an hour later I was holding my neice in my arms while the ambulance techs got my sister downstairs.I hate how they think everyone is the same...maybe ill go back to school an be an OB then you all can come and see me ;) beckaboo -
