Hi there,

I work for a television production company based in the UK . We are currently making a documentary for ITV1 exploring the issues surrounding pregnancy and eating disorders. The film will be a thoughtful and insightful look into this extremely sensitive subject.

We’re in the research stage of our production and very keen to chat to women who are, or have been, pregnant whilst having an eating disorder.

ye iv got pics just not had time to put them on the computer yet but i will be doing. i have really itchy shoulders and the top of my back. iv started been sick again only now im waking up early hours in the morning like at 2am and 3am. im also sick alot on an evening just as im going to bed its awful i thought i was over the worst but i was obviously wrong. hows your sickness? only thing i now that helps itching is calamine lotion but it does leave white marks on you but in winter when you can cover up it doesnt really matter xxx

Try a hydrcortisone (anit-itch) cream. Being warm also accentuates itchiness, so maybe cool off a little. If you itch after the shower, end your showers with cool water to bring your skin temp back down. Sorry bout your itchies, I hope it gets better.

hey there, the u/s was amazing! although he/she seemed a little camera shy. the sonographer had giggle my belly around a bit to try get the baby to turn around, then the little tinker put its hand in front of its face. mischevious already. it all feels so more real now, my due date has stayed the same. how are you? xxx

hi over here in england all pregnant people see a midwife throughout their pregnancy as its standard. but i do think its better than the doc as they deal with alsorts each day where as midwifes deal only with pregnancy therefor probably no more than docs anyway, plus they have so much more information and can offer better support and if there was ever a problem they would get you to see the doc anyway. we dont see the doc at all over here unless theres a problem. hope this helps xxx

well so far iv suffered sickness, tiredness, sore gums, constipation, iv gone off certain things and i get weepy but other than that iv been fine. still over the moon to be pregnant but definatly ready for my second trimester! xxx

My appetite has been so fickle lately. One day I eat more than I usually do, then other days, I will eat less than usual. I am just glad that I haven't had any m/s. I go to my first appt this Thursday. I think I might get to hear the heartbeat! I hope so...this waiting is driving me crazy! I just want to know that everything is okay. Keep me posted on your doc visits. Good Luck. :)

Hi Sophie! Congratulations on your pregnancy :-) Isn't it exciting? I'm originally from Canada too (Vancouver, BC). Although it's been many years since I lived there, I do miss it tremendously. Our baby's heartrate was 140 at my appt. yesterday - and I was told this is perfectly normal.

Sophieb, thanks. I live in Northern Ireland. my first appointment with the Midwife is the 12th February. i am so excited. my hubby and i only chatted about trying for a baby at the start of december. we never dreamed it would happen so quickly. good luckxx

my mum lives in fareham near portsmouth, thats actually part of the problem for us, my mum lives 240miles away and my inlaws moved to france 2years ago. we do see them all a lot though and its lovely to visit them all as its like having a mini holiday but it would be nice if they were closer. i do have a lot of family and friends around me xxx

Congrats to you too! Everything will be fine, I'm told cramps are normal at the begining and dehydration can also cause cramping. Since Ihave increased my water intake, I feel much better. I have not started the lovely morning sickness yet but with my daughter, that didn't start till I was 3 mths and it didn't stop till she was 2 mths old!@!! Right now my only complaint is my breast are killing me! ( but I can live with that. PLease keep in touch and enjoy your Ultrasound on the 31st. It's a wonderful thing!

hey, im quite a bit far from you! im from wakefield in england! theres a lot of people from america on here. its nice to talk to people from other places. im feeling sick a lot altough not actually been sick but im not sure which is worse! other than that im fine but it still doesant feel real yet and we dont get our first scan untill were about 13 weeks xxxx

Hey sophie...This is my first baby,too. I have been having trouble sleeping also. Mostly because I have to get up to go to the bathroom 3 times a night. Just wait until we have to sleep on the left side all night...very uncomfortable - I tried it! Hang in there. :)
