The story always seems to get more interesting as you find out new things with a pregnancy with twins and the progression through it. On Monday at work I began to lose the mucus plug... with Julianna I never saw what the famous plug looked like. Let's just say it was like snot (No pink, or blood). Being that I had never seen this I told Corey and let him know that I think that I passed but would wait until Wed, the 26th to ask the doctor about it.
My highrisk appointment went well yesterday morning at 8am. The two boys are weighing in at 1lb 12oz and 1lb 9oz and up in the 50th percentile and 48th. They are measuring only a week from one another which is good. The highrisk doctor for the first time was over an hour late to the ultrasound and being I've never had him didn't know what to expect. He seemed very hurried once he did arrive, and I tried to explain to him about the contractions that I've been experiencing the past week. Corey asked him when we should go in and he kinda blew it off to saying it's normal and made reference to me wearing a maternity belt since they are probably linked to ligament pain. UMMM, no... I'm sorry but I knew that ligament pain didn't just wake you up at 2am for 2 hours with it stretching from the top of your stomach, the bottom and then to your back. He did tell me that my test results came back for the Quad test.. and for my age I was a 1 in 1000 something chance of having downs but that my results came back with 1 in 5000 something. (Don't quite remember the exact). When leaving the appointment I mentioned to Corey that I was going to mention my concerns to my Ob in an hour and see what she had to say to me.
So far my Ob says that I've gained a healthy amount of weight (I'm up to 158 right now), and that if I haven't been taken my prenatal pills consistantly that I needed to do so now so that my iron is not depleted from my body. She wrote me a new script so that I could try the pills instead of the chewables because they were nasty. LOL. I must mention that within the practice that I go to we have to see every doctor to become familiar with them, today was my first time meeting this OB and I was very impressed with the time she took with us. I told her about the "snot" and the contractions and she then asked me to undress so she could do an internal exam. She told me after that I am beginning to soften, although still closed, and my cervix is beginning to shorten in length. She said anymore signs of contractions I need to go to the hospital to be safe- that way they can begin any preventive care needed- steriods and meds to stop my contractions. As long as she said we can get the boys to 28 weeks we will be fine, she's hoping that we can make it to 32. The both of them are still sitting breech and she said that there is still a little time that we can see them go head down. As long as both or baby A is down then everything will be a go for a vaginal dellivery. *** Crossing my fingers***
It was told to me that I need to think about either cutting work hours really short, or not working at all. If I do continue I need to make sure that within some period Im able to lay down, or atleast when I get home to lay with my legs. It looks as though my end of May work schedule will be cut pretty soon. I'm hoping to make it atleast 2 more weeks.
I recieved the orders for my glucose test, and also my hemoglobin etc blood work but will have to go tomorrow to have them done since the hospitals system was down for checking my insurance.
Movements have been the usual although like I mentioned before they have slowed down since they are in their pattern of sleep. They are strong though and like to bounce my little stomach around.
