Dec. 22, 2007.

I had my first ultasound on Thursday, did not expect to see anything as I was exactly six weeks that day. The little one is 6mm long and had a heatbeat that we could see and hear, 124 bpm. Amazing! Because of the size and the heartbeat, she dated me at more like 7 weeks and gave me a due date of Aug. 10th, 2008. I have been feeling pretty lousy. I'm nauseous pretty much all the time, no appetite but forcing my self to eat. I'm exausted as well and does not help that I work 12 hour shifts as a nurse. The smells that I used to be able to tolerate are not so tolerable anymore. LOL. Have not given the parents the news yet, waiting for Christmas morning so they can open up a "baby" photo album with our baby's first photo in it. Can't wait, have been wanting to tell them for some time now.

I had my second ultrasound today! So relieved to hear and see a heartbeat again. It actually looked like a baby this time, no more blob. It was moving all over the place and waving it's little arms and legs. I can't believe it is already 4cm (1.6 in.) and the heartbeat was 168. Keeping our fingers crossed that it means that it's a boy! The ultrasound tech then said my estimated due date is Aug. 6th. Dr. says we are better off with sticking with Negal's Rule (Aug. 14th). The baby will grow at different rates all the time and the machine isn't always the most accurate. Had lots of blood drawn and next ultrasound will be between weeks 11 and 13 to look at the skin thickness on the back of the baby's neck. Can't wait.

Just got home from a Dr. visit. So relieved to hear that little being's heartbeat again, 150bpm. This was the first time she was able to use the doppler because I am 12 weeks today. She was also able to palpate my fundus, says everything looks and sounds great. I have been exercising on the eliptical on my days off, hopefully it will pay off for the big day and keep me healthier throughout pregnancy. Dr. told me to stay home today, drink lots of water and rest. Need to be drinking more fluids, pretty stupid for a nurse to let herself get dehydrated. LOL. Next week I have the "ultrascreen" ultrasound and then on Valentines Day we will go back to the Dr. for another check-up!

We had our "ultrascreen" today to test the nuchal thickness (pocket of fluid on the back of the baby's neck). This was the best ultrasound wa have had yet. According to my LMP I would have been 13 weeks yesturday, but the baby is measuring 14 weeks, at 3.12 inches. Heartrate was 155. Every ultrasound I have the baby is consistently measuring a week ahead, but I am positive on my LMP, must just be a big/healthy baby. The little peanut would not cooperate and get in the correct position for the tech to get the right pictures. We had to go walk around and come back three different times, and finally she was able to get some pics. We could see him/her opening it's mouth to drink and kept putting it's hands in it's mouth, it was so cute, bouncing all over the place. We even got to see a little 4D. It is so amazing that as much as it is moving in there, I can not feel it yet. Can't wait to feel that little booger move!

March 25, 2008

We had our "20 week" ultrasound today. The baby did not have any problem showing us what it is. It's a GIRL! We thought for sure it would be a boy, quite a surprise. I think my husband is still in shock, he'll grow to love the idea I'm sure. I am 19 weeks 5 days and the baby measured 19 weeks 6 days. Right on track! So excited, now we can start our registry and decorating plans! Oh and start thinking about girl names!

How`s my pregnancy doing?
