Hey everyone! I love this website. It's so nice to be able to talk to others that are going through the same thing!
Here's some info on my background. I'm a stay at home mom since 5/25/06. I managed an accounting department for 10 years and I'm glad to be home with my children now. My husband is an attorney (don't hold that against me!). He's a wonderful christian man that's such a blessing to have in my life. I've been married to him for 10 years. We met playing volleyball and we still play every week. He adopted my first child. We live in a big 4 bedroom house that's starting to feel small. :-) We now have 3 wonderful boys, Alex age 13, Aaron age 2 and Eli our little man. So, I know what it's like to have a teenager and to have 2 young ones close together (the younger 2 are 18 months apart).
Thanks for checking in on me!

Birth Story: I woke up at 3:30 am on Saturday 8/11/07 having a little pain with my contractions. I came to the computer and set up contractionmaster.com to time them while I played Solitaire. It was nice and peaceful, the whole house was asleep there was this calmness about it. I timed them for a couple hours and they were anywhere from 15-5 mintues apart. I decided to call my mom since she is a retired midwife before I woke up my husband or called my doc. She didn't answer her cell right away, so she called my house. I told her she probably just woke up my husband Andy. Of course within seconds I see him at the top of the stairs wondering what is going on. My mom told me to take a walk and see if they got further apart. She told me I was in a prelude and they would get further apart, but I'd be in real labor within 24 hours. I told Andy to go back to bed and I'd wake him if it was time. It was 6:00 am by then and I walked the neighborhood in the nice crisp cool morning air. Watched the sun come up. I only had 1 bad contraction that whole hour, so just as she had said, they'd be further apart. Around 9:00 am we called his parents and my step mother to let them know I'd be going into labor today. They were set up to watch my other children during our hospital stay. My contractions were about 25 mintues apart then, but they were getting stronger. At 3:30 I called my mom back and told her I went from 20 min. apart, next one was 15, next few were between 6-7 min. so I asked her if she thought it was time to call my doc. She said to lay down then in about 1/2 hr take a shower and if they are still the same to call my doc. I layed down through 2 contractions in 10 minutes. They were strong. I called my doc and she said she'd meet me at the hospital. I told my mom I was going in. I'm ready. I was 4 cm dialated when I got to the hospital at 4:45pm. They checked us into a room at 5:55pm. I got in the big tub as soon as they'd let me. They told me the baby looked good on the monitor and I didn't have to be hooked up anymore! That was music to my ears! I got in the tub and did the rest of my laboring in there. The last 5 contractions were pretty strong. I was calling out for my husband asking him to help me. He was so good he'd get in my face and say "I'm here honey... come on lets breathe through this." I've never been vocal during labor before, but I cried out a few times. It was just me, my husband and my mom in the room for most of my labor. The nurse came in to check me after my water broke in the tub and I was 6 cm. 15 minutes later I told them I had to push NOW! I started pushing in the tub and my mom asked if that's where I wanted to deliver. I was not planning on a water birth so I said no... I had no idea how I was going to get out of this HUGE tub with the pain I was in. They helped me out as quickly as possible. I couldn't stop pushing. The doc wasn't even in the room. My husband helped me into bed and missed the head being born. From the time I told them I had to push he was out in 2 minutes! What a miracle. After all the threat of c-section from him being breech until 36 weeks, having issues with his heartrate taking dives and his head not being in the right position.... I was HOLDING my healthy baby boy! WELCOME ELI! Elijah Steven Saturday 8/11/07 7:07 p.m. 6 lbs 10 oz 20 inches long
