36 - going on 37 weeks. So tired of the whole pregnancy experience. Don't get me wrong, I have enjoyed it for the most part but I am ready to move to the next stage of the game. I may regret saying this as soon as the baby is born but for right now - I have had enough! He has been head down for about a month now which has been kinda uncomfortable at times. I haven't had any BH that I am aware of besides the few way back in April/May. I haven't "dropped" but I am not sure that I really have room for him to go anywhere. At my weekly u/s the tech has commented on how low he is positioned and his butt is still way up high. He also commented that 2 weeks ago he guestimated the weight at 7lb 12 oz. Can we say SCARY!!!! That is a big baby! I think that he is very long also, which may attribute to his head being so low and his butt still way up high. It also hurts quite a bit when he twists from side to side, which he still likes to do on a daily basis. Hopefully he will make an appearance soon.

So here I am in week 33 and haven't written any thing since the end of May. Gestational diabetes has not been fun let me tell you. I had a really hard time at first but seem to have everything under control now. He has been growing well as I am measuring 37 but I am losing weight. I have been losing weight every time I get weighed at the dr's office. I have been seeing my OB every other week since May 31 and now go see him every week. He also set me up with an u/s weekly for a biological profile. He says that if baby scores less than 5/8 he has to come out. Kinda scary to think that I could have a baby as early as next weekend. That thought scares the hell out of me. I was very comfortable up until now. Now I am stressing out that baby could come any time and I won't be ready. I guess you never can be totally ready right?

25 weeks yesterday and confirmed gestational diabetes.Waiting on the consults with the dietition and diabetic specialist which should happen sometime next week but in the meantime I have to test my blood 4 times a day - fun stuff, if you don't mind your fingertips hurting on every key stroke! He is still very active and the no sugar diet will probably do me good in the long run.

So today is offically my last day at work. I was covering a mat leave myself and now going on an extended one! It is bitter sweet. I think I will definitely enjoy the time but being here gave me something to do everyday, something to keep me busy and not sit around thinking about my constantly expanding belly. Now I have 4 months to wip my house in shape for a baby, along with all the critters that live in that house - I also have to put up with family having to do my renovations because I know I am not going to be able to lay down flooring myself!
My boy has been moving around quite a bit down there. His kicks are not really strong enough for Will to determine he has actually felt something. They feel plenty strong to me but the work Will does has made his hands somewhat insensitive so he thinks he felt it but isn't sure. He seems to go through periods of up and down more regular now. I notice him more during the day but definitely in the mornings, then after lunch, and supper - like he is just following the food! Which is probably exactly what he is doing. He gets really active if I eat PB and he also seems to like apples.

My growing boy has officially made himself known to me. I began feeling a lot of consistent movements this week and he is still going strong. Before it was quite sporadic and I would go days without any flutterings. Tuesday he was active all day, Wednesday m orning, the same. He took a break on Thursday and today he seems to be back for round 3. For the most part he seems to lay on his back from side to side - his head on my right and feet to the left. I was getting more sensations from the left side so that makes sense and today he seems to just want to kick me down below. Let me tell you, that is not comfortable! I am also not looking forward to when he can really pack a punch! It's funny how all you want is to feel them move and then it happens and you are so happy with the experience...but what is this going to feel like when he's almost full term and still trying to stretch? He already has long legs and big feet, I think I am in for an interesting time!!
Okay, consider me officially confused. I just had my "20 wk" anatomy scan and I was told the measurements put my dd up to Sept 1. That is almost two weeks ahead of where I was this morning. How exactly does this work? and who do I believe? I had an u/s on April 3rd because it was necessary for the triple screen test and at that time I had this u/s scheduled. My ob said I could keep it, it wasn't going to hurt and I would use this as the anatomy scan. At that time my counting (weeks) was right on and my dd was still Sept 12. All that being said, the new dd goes along with the LMP better. Like I said, majorly confused at this point. I will go with Sept 12 for sure but I wish I knew who to believe. Also I don't go back to the ob until end of May.
April 24, 2007
Had my second visit with the ob/gyn today. Heard the heartbeat which was good and strong at 154? 157? I can't believe I can't remember! I think I was just too relieved to hear it - he kept losing it because the baby was moving around too much. He asked me if I was feeling the baby move and I am but not all the time. I told him that I could go days without feeling anything and he said that is normal for this stage so I feel better. My ob/gyn is only a short walk from work and I swear it must have woke him up because he has been quite active since I got back. I couldn't feel the movements while lying on the exam table but I sure can right now! The other good news is that my triple screen came back negative for Down's and spinal abnormalities - (big sigh of relief here) I wasn't quite sure how to prepare for the results had they been positive. I know I would have just dealt but you can't get ready for that news no matter what.
So I am now waiting on my anatomy u/s even tho I do already know it is a boy - good to have friends in the u/s dept! I just want to see him again. I sit and look at those pictures all the time and the bigger he gets the clearer they are. He already has his father's legs and feet - I could tell that at 15 weeks! Also, this will be the first u/s that Will has attended. He has seen all the other pictures but it is so different to actually see the baby move.
April 23, 2007
So one more day until my next u/s. I also go see my ob/gyn tomorrow morning. I am kinda nervous because I will be getting the results of the triple screen. Neither Will's or my own family has any history of any kind of spinal disorder or down's syndrome but the whole thing makes me kinda jittery. You know what if?? I haven't thought about it much in the past few weeks since the test but knowing I find out the results tomorrow my BP is going up! I haven't been feeling the baby move around all that much. I think for the most part this is normal. I go days without feeling any type of fluttering, bubbles, waves or actual kicks. I think he was stretching the other day though because I had this strong movement from one side to the other - a foot or elbow maybe? I feel as though I am progressing normally. I haven't really gained much weight - a couple pounds - but I was a bit overweight before pregnancy so I don't feel too concerned about that. My stomach has definitely changed these last couple weeks. I have a pronounced bump that still disappears somewhat when I sit down but is definitely growing weekly.
The Beginning
Hey thanks for the comments! Congrats to all of you as well. I will get around to checking out your VIP pages as well!
Today is April 12/07 and I am 18 weeks 1 day with baby number 1. It has been confirmed a boy way back at 15 weeks. I couldn't believe how clear the ultrasound was at that point. He seems to be doing well. I don't feel him moving around that often during the day but he seems to be quite active around 8-930 or so at night. My excuse is that I have too much padding to be able to feel him all the time. I just don't recognize it. That or he sleeps all day and is up all night! Let's hope that doesn't last!
I am looking forward to my next ultrasound on the 24th. I have had to have a few because of some complications in the beginning but now they are further apart and I don't get to see him as often.
