Hello my friend. How have you been these past few weeks?
I'm doing very well. As of two days ago, Tony and I have a new (bigger!) apartment to move into at the beginning of September. I'll be about 32-33 weeks, so hopefully it'll be just enough time to move in and at least get baby stuff set up before she arrives.
We've been planning to move, since we live in a one bedroom place that is adorable, but *just* enough space for the two of us and three kitties, and is super cramped now that we've acquired a few baby things. We love our landlords who live next door on the top floor of a two-flat (right on the corner - we share a great backyard), and the wife is a real estate agent who has been helping us look for houses/apartments.
I've had an amazing sense of peace all along that the right place would come at the right time, that God would fill our need. We know so many people that move or try to find the perfect place even before conceiving a baby, but I've been putting faith in God's timing, not my own!
It is odd and not entirely happy how our having an apartment has come about, but God uses all things.
While I was out of town, my landlady's mother passed away (she was old and ill, and it was her natural time). She was living on the first floor of their two flat. Another friend in our building told Tony about it, and said that we should inquire about living on the first floor. We thought that it was in pretty bad taste, and are much more sympathetic than to ask about an apartment when her mother has just died! Well, our landlords ended up approaching us, knowing that we're in need of more space, and had us come look at the apartment. It is beautiful, has free laundry in the basement (our current place has NO laundry, which won't work with a baby!), it is much much bigger, and they are giving us a ridiculously good price. They would not be renting out the space to anyone other than us, my landlady is still of course very sad about her mother, but they really like us (as we do them, as well), and were sad that we were going to be moving away, and glad that something good can come of this.
So, we'll be living downstairs from our landlords who are great people, and I think that they'll love our baby like family. We're moving next door, which will be a very easy move, especially while pregnant. And, we'll still be in the neighborhood that we were reluctant to leave. God has a plan, and uses all things.
