02-22-08 I had some blood work done and found out I have a blood clotting disorder called MTHFR (hetero C677T). But turns out, this did not cause any problems with Emily's cord problem, as I am only a "carrier" of this disorder. There are some types of MTHFR that do affect pregnancy. My doctor has prescribed extra folic acid and one baby aspirin per day, just to be safe.

02-04-08 - What a year I just went through. I had two losses - an ectopic pregnancy 02-12-07 and at 7 months pregnant, I delivered a stillborn, my little girl, Emily, on 11-21-07. We found out through an autopsy that there was a problem with the umbilical cord when it was forming. I know she is in heaven and I will see her again. It still hurts very deeply, but I am doing better every day. We do plan on trying again, we have the green light to ttc at the end of this month.

11-21-07 - I had an ultrasound yesterday at 4:00 p.m. and they found no heartbeat. I was 27 weeks along. They sent me straight to the hospital to induce me. I delivered my little Emily at 5 a.m. this morning. Got to hold her, she was very tiny and really swollen. We are heartbroken. Please keep us in your prayers. This is terrible.

06-13-07 - Hello! My name is Tracy and I live in Ohio. This is my 2nd pregnancy. The first was earlier this year and at 7 weeks I found out it was ectopic (in my left tube). I had to have emergency surgery on Feb. 12th, and also lost my left tube. I was devastated and was on an emotional roller coaster. I felt a bit hopeless because I thought my chances were slim to none only having one tube and being 36 years old. But, after only two months of trying, we got pregnant again! SO HAPPY and thankful!! Just found out it is a girl today (10-09-07) and we are thrilled. Thank you God for this little miracle that is growing inside of me!!

Tracy, thanks for your message. I am so very sorry for your loss of Emily. Must have been so hard when you had the previous loss and even lost your one tube and Emily seemed like such a miracle. A miracle that is suddenly gone. I don't think we will ever understand why, but I trust God anyway, and it is Him who brings me through. He doesn't lead us around troubles, but He leads us through them faithfully. I understand why you are concerned about time running out taking your age into consideration. I feel the same way being almost 35. At least I don't think I will get my dream fulfilled of a large family (3-4 children) but I trust God knows what I need and will give it to me at the right time. I too had an early loss before this one and like you I am soooo ready for a success story.
I am praying for you! For a BFP real soon!

Is there a new Bachelor show? I saw part of the first one and also one with foreign girls. Maybe we'll get it soon so don't tell me who got to the end!! I tend to be pessimistic about those kinds of shows, but it would be nice if they lived happily ever after wouldn't it!!

minkymoo78 - Tuesday, 13 May
yes that's it isn't it, stay positive and TRY to stay calm although we all know it's easier said than done. Good luck to you too! x

J9 - Monday, 12 May
i think it's a good idea you're using your O strips early this month, maybe you ovulated earlier than expected last month and that's why your AF came early? who knows! I didn't ovulate until CD 22 last month.. I'd never get pregnant if I was working on the whole day 14 thing!! We must stay positive, no matter what. becoming obsessive or too emotional would probably make it even more difficult. We have to think good thoughts and have faith that it will happen when it's right. it all sounds so simple when I type.. wish it was as easy in practice!!

minkymoo78 - Monday, 12 May
Thanks for your message. I am on day 14 of my cycle so will be tying hubby to the bed for the next few days ha ha. How are you getting on?

J9 - Sunday, 11 May
Ok, it's officially over for this month. AF has arrived. I'm relieved it's here and I can start the count down again. Wish my cycles weren't so long though, I've about 3 weeks to wait now till we can try then 2 weeks after that to find out!! Oh well, I'm going to try to lose 4 or 5 pounds this month (left over from last pregnancy and the holiday indulgence that followed!) and do some DIY. xx

J9 - Sunday, 11 May
Hey tracy, hope you're ok after that weird AF... unfortunately I got a BFN this morning, in words no less... "not pregnant". am a bit confused cause I've had quite a few symptoms that I had last time... AF is due tomorrow so am hoping she just shows up and gets it over with. am worried my cycles will be more irregular now after the baby... oh well, here's hoping for next month xxx

Hi Tracy I just wanted to Wish you a Happy Mothers Day!! Here is a poem i would like to share with you hope you enjoy...
What Makes a Mother?

I thought of you and closed my eyes
And prayed to God today
I asked "What makes a Mother?"
And I know I heard him say.

"A Mother has a baby"
This we know is true
"But God can you be a Mother,
when your baby is not with you?"

"Yes, you can," He replied
with confidence in his voice
"I give many women babies,
when they leave is not their choice.

Some I send for a lifetime,
and others for the day.
And some I send to feel your womb,
but there's no need to stay."

"I just don't understand this God
I want my baby to be here."
He took a deep breath and cleared his throat,
and then I saw the tear.

"I wish I could show you
what your child is doing today.
If you could see your child's smile,
with all the other children and sayÅ

"We go to Earth to learn our lessons,
of love and life and fear.
My Mommy loved me oh so much,
I got to come straight here.

I feel so lucky to have a Mom,
who had so much love for me.
I learned my lessons very quickly,
My Mommy set me free.

I miss my Mommy oh so much,
but I visit her every day.
When she goes to sleep,
on her pillow's were I lay

I stroke her hair and kiss her cheek
and whisper in her ear.
ÑMommy don't be sad today,
I'm your baby and I'm here.'"

"So you see my dear sweet ones,
your children are okay.
Your babies are born here in My home,
and this is where they'll stay.

They'll wait for you with Me,
until your lesson's through.
and on the day that you come home
they'll be at the gate for you.

So now you see what makes a Mother,
it's the feeling in your heart.
It's the love you had so much of
right from the very start

Though some on Earth may not realise,
you are a Mother
until their time is done.
they'll be up here with Me one day
and know that you are the best one!"

Hi Tracy, I am sooo srry for your loss! You ar very couragous! I had implantation bleeding for my son a few days prior to AF. He is now 9 years old!! Baby Dust!

bekah123 - Thursday, 8 May
My neice has a blood clotting disorder called Factor 5. With her first baby she didn't know she had it and right after birth she got a Pulmonary Embolism that went to her lung. The second pregnancy they put her on Lovenok (a blood thinner). She was ok with the second one. Good luck TTC!

J9 - Wednesday, 7 May
hey Tracy, I'm sorry it doesn't seem to be your month. Guess cycles can go off the wall sometimes... I'm now 10dpo (I think, based on OPK). Have had a few strange feelings but trying not to get my hopes up. Planning to test next sunday (14dpo). Finding it hard to think of anything else! x

Becs - Wednesday, 7 May
so sorry to hear that it was just nasty AF around the corner! i hope that next month is a sucessfuly month for you :) i will keep you in my thoughts! i stopped bleeding 3/4 days ago + have just had white CM since. AF is due somewhere between 4th may + this thursday (8th) so i'll wait and see! woke up with some BB tenderness but it may well be pre-AF niggles! it's horrible what our bodies put us through - i wish it was so much easier!

minkymoo78 - Wednesday, 7 May
Hi there, my holiday was awful, I suffered from panic attacks and we had to fly home early. Don't think I got over the miscarriage properly. I'm now on beta blockers to calm me down. Sick of not feeling like myself! Don't even feel like TTC so not much hope with getting pregnant this month!

mismic - Wednesday, 7 May
I just wanted to tell you I had implantation spotting for 4 days. It was red, then pink, then brown. I thought for sure it was an early period. It was never very heavy, but lighter than usual. Then I tested at 11 DPO and got a faint positive, then a digital test positive the next day. My doctor confirmed it and I'm 5 weeks now! Keep your fingers crossed!

Michelle78 - Tuesday, 6 May
Hi Tracy - it sounds like implantation bleeding to me. I seem to get mine around week 5 of pregnancy. It's a brownish discharge, not a ton though. I never had to wear a pad for it....good luck!

J9 - Tuesday, 6 May
Hey Tracy, i'm sorry to hear that, you know your body best so you're probably right, but you know sometimes women bleed and are still pregnant. Have you had early AF before? I've heard implantation can sometimes look like AF but doesn't last as long so maybe if this stops in the next couple of days there's still hope. This whole process is so hard, I can imagine how you're feeling right now... although I'm trying to stay hopeful, I'm also trying very hard to prepare myself for it not happening.. thinking of you xxx

Becs - Tuesday, 6 May
yep - definately sounds similar! my spotting started 3 weeks into my cycle. AF is due sometime between last sunday (4th) and this thursday (8th) - i usually have a cycle between 30 and 34 days, just to make it more confusing! i will test again in a few days if AF still hasn't arrived. best of luck to you. i really hope it's implantation! :) keep me posted! x

J9 - Tuesday, 6 May
hey Tracey, it's janine, just decided to change my user name in case people I know browse the site.. didn't want to stick out if you know what I mean!! Saw your comment about possible implantation bleeding. I haven't experienced it but understand it tends to be brownish or light pink.. it could very well be the case, sounds about right in terms of timing too!!! I've been having some symptoms, was up a lot last night with cramps and was convinced AF was coming early. Hoping and praying for us both. I'm testing on sunday, when are you? I'd have probably waited a couple more days but mike is flying to barcelona for the week and I dont want to test alone!

melissao - Tuesday, 6 May
Hi Tracy,
I didn't get any implantation bleeding this time, but my first pregnancy I got it 2 days after AF was suppose to Arrive, and it was Old Blood so yes brown in color.. Keep you in my Prayers.... Im 7wks Pregnant Now im soo excited.. TTYL

Becs - Tuesday, 6 May
hi tracy. i just read your comment in week 4 + it sounds as if we're in a similar situation! i too started getting a brown discharge a week before AF was due to arrive! it lasted for about 3 days + i didn't have to wear anything more than a pantyliner. very light. i have been reading a lot of information on the web but it all seems very conflicting - some websites say that it is probably implantation bleeding + others suggest it is just a very light, early period. i took a HPT this morning but got a BFN. if you have any luck finding info, please let me know. thank you + good luck!

latasha480 - Tuesday, 6 May
I was told that I was experiencing implantation bleeding around the time of my period. It lasted on and off for about 2 weeks. I heard that type of bleeding doesn't last that long, but it is normal for women to spot brown on and off through the first trimester and I think that's what I was experiencing. However, my doc put me on natural progesterone suppositories and that seemed to stop the spotting. I am now 7 weeks and praying that all goes well. I am so sorry for your losses, but PLEASE keep the faith. I believe that God is the worker of ALL miracles and he will give us the desires of our hearts if we continue to have faith in him. God bless you on your journey!

J9 - Sunday, 27 April
oh dear, sounds like your follow up experiences were as bad as mine! I'm sorry you had to go through all that. Well, we did decide to try this month after all, although we are both nervous we really really want this, so there was no point waiting. I'm going to try to be kind to myself in these next couple of weeks, I'm going to try not to get my hopes up and will not test unless AF is late. I feel I need to be prepared for it not to happen and just be delighted if it does, otherwise this could be torturous!! Wouldn't it be lovely if this was both our months! January babies... here's hoping and praying for us both! Take care! xx

J9 - Friday, 25 April
Hey Tracy, thanks for your support. I understand that there was a mix up and people weren't trying to be horrible to us, but it was really unfortunate that things happened that way. They were very apologetic and the consultant gave me her email address and mobile number to contact her directly when I'm next pregnant so the same thing doesn't happen again (that's almost unheard of on the NHS in the UK). I'm so confused now though.. I thought I wasn't ovulating this month but got a + on my OPK today.. typical! Just as Mike and I spoke about waiting another month.. don't know if we'll try this time or not... I'm ready emotionally but Mike was wondering if it would be better to have a few more weeks of folic acid in my system. I just don't know!! I desperately want to try because I'm aware that it could take a while.. each month counts in that respect! AAHHH!!
How are you anyway, I guess you are counting down to your ovulation time now, I pray it happens for you this time! xxx

J9 - Thursday, 24 April
Hey Tracy, hope you're ok and seeing the back end of your AF. Our appointment yesterday was a total mess, they made a mistake and weren't expecting us. I've updated my blog with the details, but you were right, it was rough being back there and I felt like it all came flooding back :-( I'm pretty sad right now, but I won't let this beat me! Take care xx
