My husband and I got married on the 27th of October, 2007. It was a nice small wedding (about 300 guests), by Nigerian standards anyways! I was actually due to start my period on that same day, I was like just my luck... what a honeymoon! When it didn't start, I thought it was because of all the excitement, but lo and behold I was pregnant! We are so excited about this baby and feel we are truly blessed, its like a special gift from God right on our wedding day!!!

12th March
Yay......We are having a GIRL!!!
Finally had our scan today and Lade actually pumped his fist once the technician said it's a girl! He wanted a girl so bad, he was sure he wouldn't get one for that reason! We both wanted a girl I guess since we could only come up with a girl name...but we would have just been overjoyed no matter what cos the blessing of a having a baby in the first place is simply AWESOME :)
She was waving her hands and legs around and at one point was stretching her neck in the direction of the sound waves, she looks absolutely adorable even if i say so myself! I had tears running down my face and Lade had tears in his eyes too, it was just unbelievable being able to see her like that. Now I can't wait to hold her but July is almost here, in the mean time there is lots of shopping and decorating to do!
Her name is Ileaanuoluwakishu Erinoluwa Kaya. I know her names are a mouthful, the first means Gods mercy never comes to an end or the sun never sets on Gods mercy, she will be called Kishu for short. Erinoluwa means Gods smile or God smiling down on us, Kaya is a name her dad just loves and it means wise one to native Americans or resting place in Japanese. Her names reflect the way Lade and I feel about this special miracle in our lives...We just love her so much already, hope we don't spoil her rotten!

Peace and Love everyone!!!

Hey you! Hope you are doing well. Well I actually had my baby early at 32 weeks. He was in the hospital for about a month and is doing much better. So motherhood came unexpected and early, but we are so happy. He is so amazing. Life is so different, I thought it was different being pregnant - heck no it is crazy now. Oh and as for labor wow that was a trip. I did have a c-section but had gone into pre-term labor for a couple days and then intense labor for about 3 hours and that was no joke. The pain was intense and all I can say is drugs are great... Hope you are doing well.
Peace and Blessings.
Robyn

hahaha!!! How funny is that!!!??? Our mouths must have a secret ESP or something!!

Mine is slowly getting a bit better...I've been icing it and taking tylenol for the pain. I talked to someone yesterday and they said that the dentist might try and pull it without pain killers!! No thank you! I would seriously pass out!! I only have 2 and a half more weeks, I'll wait!!

benjamink - Wednesday, 18 June
Thank you, I appreciate it!

Thank you! At least I know I'm not alone, I do keep going back because you are right it is better to be safe then sorry especially when I don't know what is going on. It just makes me mad how they act like your stupid I mean it's medical so anything could happen.

samiamulrich - Tuesday, 17 June
Thank you!! :) I am so relieved that it's almost over. I am debating on calling the dentist or not, because I have a feeling he is just going to tell me to take tylenol for pain and ice it for swelling...which I have been doing, and it has been helping a bit...I don't want to have surgery while I'm pregnant without pain killers, and I won't take them while I am pregnant anyhow...so I think I might wait it out for another 3 weeks!!

Thanks for your encouragement. My husband thinks I should write a book too. I'm not so sure.

Thank you so much for your comment.

I did go to a class...well, actually still going to a child birth class. It's a 3 week class. I kind of wish I didn't sign up to go though, because I feel like it made my anxiety level go up. They go over what to expect from the hospital that we are using to deliver at, and it's very very strict there. I was expecting to be able to choose all the things that I want done to my body and my baby, but there are very limited things that I will have control over. Plus I got informed that we will be sharing rooms with another mom and possibly her baby as well at night, and if my husband chooses to stay at the hospital he has to sleep on the floor :(. Not to mention they don't let you take video of the birth, only still photos which is VERY disappointing!! I guess it's better to know these things now rather than in the midst of it all and getting upset later...
