My little girl - - - RILEY - - - was born on the 22nd April 2008, 8lb 7oz (3830g).

Hi, I've been on this website a while now, but only now at 33 weeks have I a bit of time to catch up.

I confirmed my pregnancy on 5th September 2007, although I knew beforehand as the symptoms were quite obvious ( Thank God for toast & ginger nuts!)

8wks; I had a really bad allergic reaction to something and was worried, checked into hospital and all was well. - I had had a miscarriage in Feb 2007.

12+2wks; I had my first scan, and you could tell that I was going to have a little wiggler then... (they don't tend to tell you the sex that early in the UK)

15wks; combined test - got the OK from that.

21+2wks; 2nd scan, again just to make sure everything is growing as it should - I found out what I'm having but as my partner doesn't want to know I'm not telling anyone. Feel free to have a guess though...............................

27+2wks; Had the GTT test, which came back the following week as negative, I don't have diabetes.

28wks; had my first Antenatal with the doctor at hospital, as opposed to seeing my Midwife, as I have a history of big babies, I thought she was going to recommend a cesarean, lucky for me she said that as my body has coped with my two previous pregnancies ok, I can go ahead with a normal delivery. My son was 10lb 5oz and a natural birth (ouch).

33wks; I managed to go to my very first antenatal class yesterday, although not a lot has changed in the 4&10 years since I had my other children, I found it quite interesting, there were 2 other mums-to-be there, although it's there first time - I thoroughly recommended the ''on all fours mooing like a cow'' position, before you laugh - try it!!!

Please fell free to drop me a line - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

16 march 200833+5wksNever ending pain in the right leg, The baby has been laying on a nerve for quite a while now, but as I `m getting bigger the pain is increasing and not only that as I start to ease the pressure by limping the other leg and hip start to hurt, I don `t want to rush my pregnancy but I `ll be glad to be rid of the pain.

18 march 2008 ..Hi all, I `ve just ordered a BABYCARE ELLE TENS MACHINE, to help with pain relief, I had a 2second feel of the midwifes one yesterday - never seen one in action before- It felt quite good................... Have any of you actually used one of these things before? Did it work for you? (in the UK they are on offer at the suppliers (£20.00 off today only I think) if you want to know the details contact - www.babycaretens.com

Wed 9th April - 37+1wks .. Went to the Antenatal Clinic at the hospital today, such a nice doctor again, anyway I knew I was there to arrange a date for induction (large baby). Had an internal and Dr said that I'm not engaged yet but he can feel the babies head, he gave me a sweep, and I'll need another next week with the Midwife.. .. Going to be Induced 21st April by the looks of it - It will be my sons 4th birthday on the 20th.. so near yet so far. (this one has been scanned as weighing 9lbs already).....

Tuesday 22nd April 2008 (39wks) .. .. .. .. .. My daughter RILEY was born at 09.47, weighing in at 8lb 7oz (3830g).

7 April 2008 - - - 36+6 wks -- Am I having Braxton Hicks or is it just the baby wiggling around? .. This is my third and I still cannot really tell the difference, I've always thought it was the baby pushing around but as I took my other kids to their nans just now I was sure this was more of a tightening than a pushing... I wasn't engaged 2wks ago so I'm also wondering if the baby is getting ready to engage.. Just got rid of kids so I'm gonna take the other half out to a thai restaurant we've been eyeing up for months - sshhh don't tell him it's a suprise....

My daughters holidays finish this Tuesday, but the teachers are going on strike the day of my CS!!! Typical! She's going to stay with the mother-in-law the night before, and is already packing her bag! I am quite glad I have a date, all the indecision is over, and I can plan stuff. Good luck with your appointment, keep me posted!

Also if you go to the forum of info and click on baby shower's it has this...also there is more info too! hope this helps.
Baby showers are a special way of showering expectant parents with love, gifts, advice and memories. While all baby showers are different and unique, they are all very special. Baby showers are used as a celebration of pregnancy and upcoming delivery. Generally, a baby shower should be held approximately one to two months before the baby is due. This will allow the expectant parents time to purchase any baby necessities that were not purchased as gifts for the shower. It also helps to ensure that the mother has not already had the baby. Some baby showers are centered around a theme and some are not. Common themes are the desired nursery theme, baby necessities, booties, ducks, teddy bears or blocks

Hi! Had my scan today, baby weighing 7lbs 10oz already!! caesarean booked for 24th April..... Oh well, at least I can get organised!

emma1230 - Friday, 4 April
hey there! showers are basically an excuse to get friends and family together to eat lots of fun food and cake. They bring you fun gifts for the baby and everyone dotes over the pregnant mommy to be. They are really pretty fun.. I hope this explains it a little better :) i hope your pregnancy is going well.. emily

babyboysmama - Friday, 4 April
My shower was 4 hours long, basically we prayed for the baby, ate a bunch of good food, had a cake and desserts and then I spent and hour and a half opening up all the gifts so everyone could see all the great things I got! It's a lot like a Bridal shower before a wedding, only it's for the pre arrival of a baby :)

Hi, What do you do in a baby shower exactly, Is it like an unborn baby party where your friends and family bring all their presents before the birth, do you have food and party games? ..................... In England we don't have them, although you do hear about the odd one (Americans in England, maybe!). It's too late for me to have one - don't know many people either, how long does the 'shower' last for? (PS; I DO REALISE THAT IT'S NOT AN ACTUAL SHOWER!!!)

Britmom - Tuesday, 1 Apr
I find out on Friday just how big he is.... I'm not happy about a caesarean, but the Consultant said it was a close call last time, so I guess I'll do whatever she tells me to do. Fingers crossed for us all (it's too late to cross anything else!!)

Britmom - Saturday, 29 Mar
Hi! I live in Norwich, and had a daughter 5 years ago who weighed in at 9lb 2oz. She had shoulder dystocia and I lost 2 litres of blood after delivery!! It put me off having anymore, and am now pregnant (accidently!) with a boy that my Consultant says is going to be BIG! I am due 1st May, but she (Consultant) has me booked in for an estimated foetal weight scan next Friday, and says if he is bigger than 7lb 8oz, she recommends a caesarean. She also said it's partly because I'm tall (5ft 10'), and my pelvis is at an angle, so the baby doesn't drop in at the right angle. If you have had one with shoulder dystocia, then the next one is more likely to have the same. I don't want a caesarean, but it was a bit hairy last time!

I've heard that olive oil is the usual choice. Walnuts do have more acid in them...

I used a tens machine 11 years ago with my first pregnancy in Northern Ireland. It worked to a certain point, then once the contraction got really strong, it just annoyed me. lol
But everyone is different, you may like it. Good Luck!

Hi I'm due on April 29th as well and really don't want a may baby. I don't really have reason, I just don't want a may birth.

sna - Friday, 29 Feb
Hi there ~ I saw your post in Week 31 - I am due April 26th and do not want the baby born in May... My reason is that my baby will be the only April baby in our entire family (both sides) so I think that will be really special.. I hope I deliver a bit early or right on schedule... Good luck to you and Congrats !
