He's adorable!! Looks like he's skate boarding!! How long does he have to wear that for? melSue01 -
10.6 hours ago yeah that was one of the meds his pediatrician gave him. That's all you can really do when it comes to formula, but there are definitely trigger foods that will bother them. Hope he starts to feel better. melSue01 -
14.3 hours ago i was reading some of the other comments and I would definitely reduce or cut out your dairy intake then reintroduce it later, and I also cut out chocolate which was a big culprit in my daughters fussiness. Small price to pay tho for peaceful nights! melSue01 -
14.6 hours ago my son always seemed like he was hungry from one feeding to the next, but projectile vomited it all back up from one feeeding to the next. They checked him for a condition called pyloric stenosis which is just a narrowing of the tube where the food goes into the stomach. Fortunately that wasn't it, so they deemed it acid reflux and gave him two medications to take 30min before feedings. They worked almost immediately with his vomiting. He took it until he was one, after that the reflux was gone. I think they also had me start him on rice cereal at four months. That kept the milk down too. Have you taken him to the doctor? Laura14 -
17.2 hours ago hey your welcome..they did improve she still spits up alooooot but shes not so irratable and fussy now as she was. i have started her on solids and that seems to have helped a little. the mattress thing definately helped her sleep better. instead of using rice in her bottle i used stuff called carobel by cow and gate which is a natural thickener but im not sure if you get it over there so thats worth a try too:)) have baby as upright as possible when feeding and burping that helps the whole sickness thing too:) emmas 5 months now almost 6 and things seem to be settling down!! i know how hard it can be i used to always worry bout her choking on the spit up...elevation of the mattress helps that too!! good luck i hope it all gets better poor baby its not nice seeing them like that!! xx notjust1but2 -
22.1 hours ago Yalondalee.. I have not been on this site since before the birth of my twin. Time to update my profile I guess. But anyway, Reflux caught my eye. I have been battling it with my 5 month old daughter and thought I would share what I have done and seen done before. Gravity helps a little with reflux, so I elevated the head of the bed. I used blanket under the top of the mattress to raise it some, or let my daughter sleep in her bouncy chair. Feeding..I tried not to over feed... other things I've tried thickening formula, lactose free(like Similac Sensitive), reduced gas in stomach with mylicon drops, burped more frequently and fed in a more upright position, added gripe water to formula or tummy soother (o.t.c.). Gripe water is good because it has baking soda and that is suppose help decrease acidity in stomach. Your pediatrian can prescribe medications (example, previcid). A funny thing I have found that helped calm my daughter Kendyl down was putting her in her carseat and placing it on my running clothes dryer. What ever works. right? My daughter is finally outgrowing the reflux. Praise the Lord! Hope you find something that helps with your child a little bit. Love your pictures, I noticed that your son's name is Caden, my 5 month old son's name is Kaden and my 7 year old son birthday is 2-14-01. wonderinginIA -
31.7 hours ago soy formula for him too :-) wonderinginIA -
34.4 hours ago have you tried soy and cut out your milk intake to see if it will help? hope you find some relief :-) Celeste08 -
40.2 hours ago My 5 month old daughter had a huge spitting up problem, but she never cried. Her reflux got so bad that her sinuses were always congested 24-7. The doctor put her axid and it has helped alot. I did use Enfamil AR with rice cereal and that helped, but then I tried similac sensistive (lactose-free) in the orange container and that has made all the difference. It is more gentle on their littlt stomachs. When I breast fed and with sumpliment with formula it made her really gassy. Maybe sticking to one or the other may help! I know it is frustrating but hang in there, they should outgrow it in a few months! lisamarie8503 -

Tuesday, 22 April Can I use bio-oil while nursing. I haven't used anything other than 100% coco butter. I used it during my pregnancy and it didn't seem to help... karenc -
Monday, 21 April beckett's bf & formula fed & that's what his poop is like too, esp now tbat he's not going every day. if the baby has diarrhea, the poop will be frequent (that's key) and greenish, often with mucous. other than there being a lot of poop (yuck, lol!) did it seem more frequent than usual? if not, he's probably ok. wasabigizmobunny -
Sunday, 20 April NUK is safe and they also make glass bottles. Actually most of the European brands are PBA free. It's just some US makers that use clear hard plastic. wasabigizmobunny -
