Thursday, 12 June I am SO sorry that you're feeling badly about the skateboard :( but you guys are so close to the point where he's going to be free to be karate master all day long and you've all done SUCH a good job getting through this. I think one of the hardest things about parenting is the 'we're doing this b/c it's good for you even tho you don't like it' -- hang in there and before you know it, the skateboard will be a thing of the past. and hey, much respect for quitting smoking!! dannie -
Thursday, 12 June How did Caden sleep during the night? Ryland had another good day of naps. He had 2 one hour naps, 1 half hour nap and 1 two hour nap and he is now down to bed at 6:45 dannie -
Wednesday, 11 June I don't know if it will happen with Caden or not, but after starting the 90 sleep program ( I started a little over a week and a half ago) with Ryland he had a few night's that he was waking more than usual and then there were a few days where he really tried to fight the naps. Although he was still napping more then he was before. This was also when he was teething a bit and not eating very well. I switched the type of bottle I was using and he seems to be doing much better and so is his napping and nighttime sleep. I stuck to the program through those tough night's and difficult days because I knew eventually it would have to start to work. Perhaps his body was just so overtired that it had a hard time getting use to the much needed sleep. dannie -
Wednesday, 11 June check out the website www.pollymoore.com lots of great info Tiffanymommyto4 -
Sunday, 8 June I am so glad to hear that I am not in the boat alone. Trey is doing better...but still not quite where I'd like him to be. He was on zantac for about 6 weeks but now he is on priolosec and doing much better. How does your lil guy sleep during the day? dannie -
Saturday, 7 June Hey! How are you and Caden doing? I am still having a hard time getting enough ounces in Ryland before bed, usually only around 20, when he was up around 30. He still continues to wake a few times in the night and I am sure it is due to not eating enough during the day. But even when he wakes at night, he doesn't really give me that I am hungry cry, but I still feed him anyway knowing he was low on the number of ounces he had taken in for the day. He seems happy and content during the day so I am not worried. I hope you are having better luck! jenmarie82 -
Friday, 6 June Yeah, I'm just going to make it to order. That way I won't have batches of soap laying around everywhere! It is fun..i love doing stuff like this. jenmarie82 -
Friday, 6 June where did you get your supplies? did you do well with it? dannie -
Thursday, 5 June Hey! How are the night wakings going? I hope they are decreasing in number
Ryland is back to sleeping much better, thank goodness! I was starting to get worried for a minute at the thought of having to revisit the very early stages of his sleeping again! Addyson mommy -
Tuesday, 3 June How is baby Caden doing with his cold? Addyson is just starting to feel better, and now she gave it to mommy. mizzsnazzy -
Tuesday, 3 June You are also breastfeeding, so those 6 5-10 min feedings are good. He probobly is getting enough. Where I'm not breastfeeding at all, and can see that he's eating little. I wouldn't worry unless he starts losing weight or anything. I'm realizing I'm overreacting with things and way too paranoid. Aren't we all though? lol karenc -
Tuesday, 3 June that is a great hoodie on caden!! and he looks like he's getting big -- amazing to think how teeny they were in those first few weeks, isn't it? mizzsnazzy -
Monday, 2 June And also what I don't understand about all this is that he is HAPPY all day long, sleeps good, producing at least 6 wet diapers during the day, pooping about every other day sometimes goes for 3 at the most (but i know its ok because its formula). All this is driving me up the wall, I can't do anything without thinking about him. mizzsnazzy -
Monday, 2 June Yeah he does have silent reflux, I already know that. The doctors gave him Zantac and I didn't want to continue giving it to him, it also stopped working anyways, and after consulting with another doctor, she advised me to do small frequent meals, and not to give him Zantac or any other medicine. So I'm doing the small meals. I'm really worried about him day by day because he doesn't eat the 24 oz in a day he's sopposed to. He gets like 18 oz. But he is not losing weight. He is at 14 lbs exactly right now (I have a baby scale) which is a good weight. He was born 6 lbs 3.5 oz only, so for him 14 lbs is good IMO. I think he might also be just full.
What really concerns me, especially last night, is that he is usually passed out by 8 or 830 at night, and would sleep all the way to 7-8am.....he won't wake up for feedings and is pretty hard to wake up to feed during the night. What concerned me was that he only managed to eat 1.5 oz at 730pm yesterday, he wouldn't take no more. I tried waking him up at 10, and no such luck. It's like, how can he not be hungry?1?!?!
How is your bub eating? and how much? dannie -
Monday, 2 June Another thing I was thinking, perhaps they are going through a growth spurt and since they are not eating as much during the day, they need to catch up at night. I read that babies typically go through a growth spurt at around 4 months. When Caden wakes at night, do you soothe him right back to sleep, or feed him? By the way, how many ounces does he eat in a 24 hour period? Keep me posted as to how things go...I hope for all of our sake things get better soon

Monday, 2 June I do think Ryland is getting some teeth. He has been drooling a lot and gumming on his hand. If I feel along his bootom gum line there is one white spot that is slightly raised. I can't feel a tooth, but it is probably making its way up. Also, I was wondering how Caden has been sleeping at night since he began teething. Up until a few days ago Ryland was sleeping 9 hours at night, but now he is up several times. After getting use to having a full night's sleep it is so hard to have to do the midnight shifts again
Also, During the day it has been hard to get Ryland to drink all of his bottle. He only drinks 4 oz at a time, but now it is hard to get even 2 or 3 down, so he is going to bed having less ounces then he typically has and this could be the cause for his waking up. Any help or advise, if you have any, would be great! nmck -
Sunday, 1 June Hi! Thanks for the suggestions. He is still on an enhanced preemie formula until he passes 8 pounds, so we can't try the AR formulas yet. The Dr. said it is ok for us to add a teaspoon of rice cereal to thicken the milk, which is what AR formulas are. We do hold him up after feedings, but strangely, he seemed worse when we propped his bassinet mattress with a wedge pillow. The zantac and the rice seem to help. I hope your little one is doing well, and it is nice to know other moms are in the same boat as I am! rabekah -
Sunday, 1 June A wet wash cloth.... That makes so much sense! Then I won't have to keep putting her off and on trying to rouse her awake (my poor bb's are getting sore). I don't know why I didn't think of that. Thanks a million! Your baby is beautiful! dannie -
Friday, 30 May Hey there! I was wondering if your little boy is starting to teeth and have raised gums. I can't believe our sons are already at the age where teeth start coming up.
I am going to miss my teeny tiny little guy. Oh well, I will just have to have another! baby bug -
Friday, 30 May I laughed at your comment regarding the muffin top...I totally agree!! I found a store where I live that sells the best jeans that have tummy control and are stretchy so the muffin top is not out of control!! pawsitvemama -
Wednesday, 28 May Yes that helps out a lot. It sounds just like my daughter. At first I thought it was the dairy in my diet, but after eliminating it nothing has changed. i am sure now it's reflux. By the way you have a handsome son! willows-mum -
Monday, 26 May
you 2 look so cute together :o) DANNIE -
Thursday, 22 May Ryland does have the jungle themed playmat and loves it! I don't know what I would do without it. Does Caden have one of those jump swings that hang from the door? I want to get Ryland one, but wasn't sure how old he should be before using it. Do you know? DANNIE -
Thursday, 22 May What a beautiful baby boy you have! I love his name too. My little boy was also born on February 14, 2008 and pretty close to the time you delivered Caden.
