I am currently 29 weeks, this is my first baby and it hasn't been very easy at all. I am smaller than I should be for the gestation period but I have been assured that everything is fine. I am having a girl, she frequently kicks and moves into the most uncomfortable positions. My Morning sickness only subsided about 2 weeks ago, and at its worst I was sick anywhere from 2 to 8 times a day which almost had me hospitalised but did require me to resign from my job. Best advice I can give for you if you have bad morning sickness see your doctor and let them know how bad it is, they are able to help. My lastest upset besides the baby stretching out is a heat rash over my back and other areas of my body. I am not to worried about stretch marks almost everyone has them.
23rd March 2008 - I have an insanely itchy belly and I have been told not to scratch it as it makes stretch marks worse. So I placed something cold on it, lesson learnt don't put anything cold on your belly when itchy, it makes it worse.
25th March 2008 - Woke up feeling a little sick this morningbut wasn't actually sick (thank goodness). Was looking in the mirror last night and noticed I have my first lot of stretch marks on my hips running towards my belly but they aren't really that noticable yet.
28th March 2008 - Had my blood tests done this morning, due to my feeling unwell the last couple of days (just morning sickness arising again) I have shifted my doctors appointment back to next week. I am not too worried about the baby, I feel her kicking requarly and so I know she is okay but I still have to keep on top of my appointments so that my family are satisfied that everything is okay.
30th March 2008 - Well woke up in a wet spot this morning as I had leaked colostrum. Been leaking it for a week now but last night there was a larger amount then usual, my mum said that it will only get worse and I should get some breast pads. I don't really mind the leaking, it is just a pain to have to wash everything when I do.
5th April 2008 - Turned 21 yesterday and it was great we went baby clothes shopping and then ended our day in front of the TV with takeaway and movies. Today was even better went and got some clothes and at night we were watching TV and the baby was really active but she wasn't kicking to much just squirming and moving herself from one side to the other.
12th April 2008 - Well I have turned into the moody person I didn't want to turn into. It has been okay in the beginning like I was moody but I could be reasoned with now I am just moody - my poor husband has to come home to this. It probably doesn't help that my pets know that something is up and use the fact that I am slow on my feet to their advantage. My dog keeps digging holes too which is stressing me out but I can't yell at her because the dog behind us is helping her so I just put her on her lead and fill in the hole and try so hard not to yell at her. Also the stress is causing me to have a lot of Braxton Hicks which I know it is just my body getting ready but it can't be good if they happen when I am stressed. My husband will be returning soon and I am so excited just to have him home and let him sort out these naughty animals.
24th April 2008 - Well yesterday I had my first appointment at the hospital, it went well my partner and I were both exteremly busy though and he kept having to run off and rejoined the appointment later but that was fine because I was just happy to have him there. We both got a little bit of a shock when we were told exactly why I was required to have another scan around 32 weeks, our other doctor failed to mention that the baby might have something wrong with her kidneys and so that is why I am having the scan. My husband says that he will definately be there with me for the scan and I am glad because if something is wrong then it will be nice to have the support. They said if it is just a blockage then it will need minor surgery after she is born but it could be that the kidneys are just immature. However a highlight to the whole appointment was when my husband got to hear the heartbeat for the first time and just seeing his face light up was enough joy for the entire week for me. I can't wait till we get to see her on the scan she should look so different to when we last saw her.
1st May 2008 - We went for our scan at the hospital on Tuesday and it looks as though the kidneys have cleared up however the doctors are still warning us that they can't give a hundred percent that it is fixed until she is born so fingers crossed. Woke up this morning in a huge amount of pain with braxton hicks contractions and also the baby making large movements, fairly sure that they were just braxton hicks contractions and not real contractions they have subsided now so hopefully they won't be that bad again. My husband last night got to feel the baby make a big kick he was so shocked the his only reaction was "holy crap", so he finally knows how hard she can kick.
7th May 2008 - Well getting close but still not close enough for my liking. My hands and feet are sore and swollen. I have also started feeling a little ill again.
