sorry for the delay in writing back - I've been working on a presentation which I did yesterday. now I can maybe buy some things for the baby - I hear they do not come fully equipped! :)
yeah my mother in law is being a pain in the ass - and its getting tricky because we haven't told her we're having a home birth, and she's making noises like she's going to come camp out at the hospital. hmmm, what hospital?! it will be interesting to see how this one plays out :)
wishing your baby lots of sleepy thoughts!

hey hon - I'm so relieved to hear that nursing isn't as bad as some people make it out to be - I was getting really worried there for a bit. I suppose as long as you're getting it right you're all right! Already tiring though to hear that it's true that breastfed babies feed more often/don't sleep for as long! LOL. I'd best prepare myself!

Funny you say you don't feel like you were ever pregnant lol. I sometimes still don't "feel" pregnant... then I'll cross my arms, or move funny and get a huge kick... and then I sit there and dote on my belly for hours, and watch him rolling in there... it's the most insane black/white feeling ever! lol

I hope all is well with you otherwise! So wonderful that your hubby dotes on the little one... I can't wait to see J with his son :) I think I'm definitely going to cry! lol. Catch up again soon!

hi honey! I am SO glad to hear that all is well with your precious little family! What a lovely name for your son ;) his first name is the same as my dad's, and my grand-dad's - nice choice! lol. Did you find nursing particularly hard at first? I am desperate to breastfeed for the first 3 - 4 months at LEAST (before I come back to work), but to be honest, am having slight anxiety about it, as everyone I've spoken to makes it seem so hard, especially for first timers (with all the comments re pain and perserverance) LOL.

I can't believe it is only a matter of weeks until I meet my little one. I am SO excited. I can't wait to see how J deals with him. He is wide-eyed at the moment, and getting quieter the closer the due date comes, but is already so smitten and excited by him... :) I think it's first time nerves! I have the same thing! lol

Anyway you keep well and I'll catch up with you soon!

katherinec - Saturday, 3 May
congratulations! I hope little charles is letting you sleep some :)
enjoy!

nancy26 - Thursday, 1 May
congrats my sweetheart! So happy for you!! What is the little angel's name? All is wonderful here thanks! Just playing the waiting game! 7 weeks left tomorrow and counting! can't wait to meet my little man... never loved anyone like this before, it's an amazing feeling, but I'm very emotional and high strung at the moment, especially with the stress at work... I'm angry a lot of the time, almost blindingly so, but I heard an old wives' tale that this is often the case with pregnancies with boys!

I hope all is well with you and the family, and congrats again!

baby.bray - Thursday, 1 May
massive congratulations - a little charlie! (my name is charlie lol)I thought that you surely must have had him since you hadnt been on the site for so long (and the fact that you were 13 days over when I left a comment) my baby still hanging in there but my due date isnt until 7th and we are comfortable so I'm happy... the only thing that makes me feel like I'm getting closer is the nesting instinct that I got today - gonna do some decdorating over this bank holiday weekend in the UK x

baby.bray - Thursday, 24 April
thought I'd ask how you and your baby are doing, 13 days over your EDD hope you are still comfortable x but by the time you get this you may have given birth lol x

jjhills1st! - Wednesday, 23 April
I really apperciate all the info! Thank you! Im going to check out that website tonight! I agree, it seems to me getting your foot in the door somewhere would be the hardest part. I was thinking about calling some local doctors offices to see if they are open to contract work at home, and what certification, and experience level they require.
Thats awesome it has worked out for you so well!

baby.bray - Wednesday, 23 April
thanks chick - it seems like you can't say anything without offending someone lol x it seems that now is the time to be losing mucus plugs but nothing for me so far yet... I wanted to have a home birth, everytime I lay in my bath I think that its perfect for a water birth but my other half wont hear of it - but I'm happy so long as baby is and they dont let me go 12-14 days over and then perform an emergancy c-section which has happened to 4 of my friend in the last 12 months, I suppose the pro's and cons have to be weighed up with an induction at that point - it just worries me that its happened to so many x good luck with everything x

kelsul - Tuesday, 22 April
loved your message to that littlemama89. i agree with you too! it seems like everyone is scheduling their inductions. weird. i am all for going into labor naturally. and i have been waiting over a year for a baby. i miscarried last year in the 2nd trimester. if anyone is ready it's me LOL.
i am not against c-sections or inducing labor if it is medically necessary. but how ever it happens, as long as we all end up with healthy babies, that is what matters.. well done. and good luck.

Calypso - Tuesday, 22 April
I was thinking maybe because I'm dilating? Maybe thats why I have that pain? It feels like I did too much excersize and than the next day you are sore. Or riding a horse and not used to it and than the next day you feel that pain between your thighs? Im going to my doctor tomorrow and I will tell him, hopefully he will tell me I am 5 cm! LOLOL with all that pain I should be opening up right? Ha!

Calypso - Tuesday, 22 April
Hi, I am very petite too. I am 5ft tall and I sterted this pregnancy at 105lbs!! I am up to 142lbs as of last week and I feel like I am about to burst any minute. This past two weeks I can't count how many people asked me if I am having twins!! I am having so much pain here and there. I am having these pains between my legs like I have been riding an elephant! I keep on getting menstrual cramps like and backache, hopefully tomorrow doctor will give me some good news that I am dilated more. I was 2cm last week but I haven't lost my mucus plug yet. I didn't loose it either with my first my water broke after doctor stripped my membranes. Anyway, hopefully all will go well with our pregnancies, whats left of it!!! Good Luck and hope you have a fast and safe labour!

mommyagain9th - Tuesday, 22 April
I like it very much the way you “say it like it is”. I agree 100% about the C-section (that scares me to death). How anyone can choose this is beyond me. Induction: I’ve been induced once and that’s 1x too many. That was out of necessity as my water broke…but no contractions were coming, waited almost 24 hours after and I knew something had to be done and baby needed to come out. BUT those contractions were the absolute worse in my entire life. Absolutely not natural. My last 5 kids were home births. Wishing you all the best / hoping you hold your little one real soon. **hugs**

Calypso - Tuesday, 22 April
Thank God somebody stood up for this littlemama89. She has been complaining and sound ticked out off for a while now. She is in the same week as me and she wanted this baby out long time ago. I too am over due but I don't come online to chew people's head off for no reason. Thanks for people like you who know what to say to people like her!

KrysAndBundleOfBoy - Tuesday, 22 April
Yup ! and " on time" is what my baby makes it ! im terrified of c-sections anyway! No one is cutting into me !
i was supposed to have surgery to remove scar tissue in my check over 11 years ago, decided no ill wait it out, now its gone, just like waiting out for baby :)
Labour dust to you :) *x*x*

KrysAndBundleOfBoy - Tuesday, 22 April
Good On yah !!! ( clap clap clap )
:) that reminds me off all the woman dangerously Chugging Catrol oil, DOnt they realize what you drink baby gets to and could cause him or her to have a bowel movment ? EEK!! I am only in week 39 And im excited to have my baby out, But induction & c-section is off the list off things to do :) ( unless medically nessisary) Besides If my baby needs the extra time, why take it away from him right? :) im so proud of your post ! Good Luck with labour , delivery and your Wonderful baby!

Hi!
I am in pursuit of finding legitimate work from home. I read on the Work From Home Forum, you posted a comment (several months ago) that you do medical transcription. Is that still going well for you? I don't have any experience, but would be willing to take online courses, is that how you became certified? How hard was it finding an employer? I sure would appreciate any information you can give me!
Thanks for your help!! :)

mommytohaylen - Sunday, 20 April
Hey, i read on another page that you worked in a hospital, and i just wanted your opionion.
im only 7 days overdue, and my doctor has be to be induced on the 23rd with will make me only 11 days overdue. I was planning on a natural birth, no pain meds etc, and am really upset over the fact that my doctor says that " the risk of waiting to long out weight the risks of inducing after 10 days" but honestly i know once they start to intervien im bound to have to have a c-section....

what do you think about the prostelandin gel? and how long can you safely wait, if my fluid levels are high and everything looks normal?

nancy26 - Friday, 18 April
Fingers crossed on the babywatch! Wouldn't it be lovely for baby to arrive with the full moon :) I'm thinking this baby will definitely be more big boned than chunky, but am open and happy to go with the flow, provided he gets here okay!

I really sympathise with the sciatica - for a while there I thought I was the only one... it's physically painful even just to turn over in bed, and as you say, if you don't turn every hour, it gets even worse. My sweet little boy is also giving me trouble - he curls into these tight little balls when I'm walking, and gives me a "stitch" , and it's like I can feel him bouncing into my diaphragm. Exercise has not been fun! lol.

Thank you so much for telling me about your previous births - it really helps to restore my confidence! Did you practice perineal massage beforehand? I've bought some wheatgerm oil as told by the midwife, and plan to start massage from tuesday (depending on what the scan says) every day so I can try minimise tearing. I also plan to give birth on my knees, leaning forward, which I'm told lessens the risk of tearing. Will you be having any pain medication? Is it something you would recommend, and if so, which would you say is the best? LOL sorry for the 20 questions, I really do bow to experience, and would love to hear what you have to say about the birthing process. I would LOVE to try natural, and will, as far as I can, but I am not sure whether my pain threshold will stand up to it - I'm crippled and almost crying from hip pain - what will birth be like compared? lol...

Anyway you keep well, and fingers crossed again for you and little one :)

thanks so much for your experiences. It was really helpful and confirmed what I was thinking anyway. I really don't want to be induced as I agree that medical intervention is used too readily when the body obviously isn't meant for it. Unless of course there was a medical emergency. But I think it puts unnecessary pressure on our bodies and the baby as well. I am going to tell the doctor I don't want to be induced but would prefer to wait it out. Let's just hope he decides to come soon!! All the best with your labour x.

purpledaisy - Thursday, 17 April
Thanks for the encouragement and info on the Ricki Lake movie. (I'm going to look for it online right now). Good to hear about your positive homebirth experiences! There seem to be more and more women returning to homebirth. I'm going out today to go buy my supplies...it's only been the past few days that I feel strongly to have the baby at home, the more I read the better it sounds!

purpledaisy - Thursday, 17 April
Hi...I just read your post on someones page about your induction experience. My heart goes out to you. I'm 13 days over according to U/S but have just canceled Fridays induction (by my calculations I'm only 6 days overdue) and am I ever glad I did after reading your story. I would hate to mess with nature if the little guy is just not ready to come out. I am now even considering home birth after reading countless stories on the net of empowered women giving birth at home. It sounds like a beautiful thing!
All the best to you with your delivery!

nancy26 - Tuesday, 15 April
Hi honey! Wow, are you finding the Baby Watch frustrating? I'm only 30.5 weeks and I'm tired already lol.. Overdue!! I think I'd just cry! LOL, even though I know I'm going to miss feeling him kick me all the time!

Well I went to the Doc today and she says he is indeed a big baby... I told her I was getting LOADS of BH, she says it could be too much fluid, scans and says fluid is great, it's him that's big. So I'm in for glucose testing on Monday... I'm thrilled. Not. I tried explaining that his father is 6ft6 and 260 lbs. No go. lol. And then a scan on Tuesday to check on his growth and where my placenta is. I'm still hoping to push the little thing out instead of get cut, so fingers crossed that the placenta has moved!

I totally sympathise on the "short body" pregnancy. It's insane. Lower back, knees, hips, sciatica, even my ribcage hurts! lol. ahhh, just 5 weeks left of work, then I can put my feet up for 4 weeks before he arrives, hopefully.

Anyway hon, best of luck to you and fingers crossed that you go soon, and will soon be holding your beautiful baby in your arms - please keep me posted!

nancy26 - Friday, 11 April
Heya hon, so good to hear from you! Ah, it's good to know that big husband doesn't necessarily mean enormous baby... my mom was freaking me out there for a minute. But the more I feel him move in me and play and talk with him, the more I know I really really WANT to try natural with him... I'm very heavy at the moment, and I know that he is measuring a bit ahead, but I don't think he'll be huge, As you say we're designed for this sort of thing! How're you doing?
