*Birth Story*

I was scheduled to be induced at 6am on Oct 1st, I was up and getting ready when the hospital called at about 5:15am and told me that they had to bump me back because they had a lot of natural laboring patients come in, and explained to me that since mine was an elected procedure I was last on the totem pole. And that I needed to call back and check to see if they had an opening in a few hours. So I was upset, and since my Mom works there I had her call and talk to the nurse in charge and she said there was nothing she could do. So I called every hour on the hour and finally at 11 they told me to be there at 11:30. So when I got there they had to take blood and start my IV and all that jazz. My dr came in about 12:30 and checked me and I was 4 cm and about 60% effaced but my cervix was still high. She broke my water and then they started my pitocin about 1:00. I started moving quickly, and the pain got intense fast. But with my mother-in-laws help I was breathing thru them in the beginning. And then when I started feeling the intense pressure in my bottom I gave up and wanted the epidural, right then and there!! So my nurse checked me again and I was about 6cm and 100% effaced and the baby's head was low, but he was facing the wrong way. So the dr came in to give my my epi about 3:15 or so, and I was in Heaven instantly, allthough it had only taken the edge off of the pressure I was feeling. But I could not feel any contractions. I started feeling like I was going to vomit about 4:30, I was really getting sick to my stomach, even though I had only had ice chips since midnight, and my nurse came in and I was complete. She wanted to do some practice pushes, and I told her the same thing I told the nurse with my youngest daughter, I am a good pusher 2 pushes and my baby is out. So we did one little push and she told me to stop, which was really hard b/c I could feel his head down there and I wanted it out. She was hollering at the other nurses to get my dr there, I kept telling her, He is coming out, He is coming out. So my nurse got scrubbed up and all dressed and I was in the middle of my first push and my dr. came in and she got all cleaned up very quickly, and one and a half pushes later we met our son at 4:45. He weighed in at 6lbs 15oz and he was 19 3/4 in long.

I had my first daughter very young, I was only 16. She is my pride and joy. It was very hard having a baby so young, I lost alot of friends. But life went on and I had my family and the few true friends that stuck around. And I am a very lucky young lady because her Daddy was around,as a matter of fact we are still together. We had another daughter when I was 19, and her sister loves her more than anything in the world. We are now expecting our third child and we are thrilled to say that we are having our first son.

*7-15-07*

Well here I am 27 weeks pregnant. I am not that big, i have only gained 8 pounds, considering I was a little above average for my height when I got pregnant. I can not sleep. My son is a night owl like his Daddy. (My husband works nights) He keeps me up all night doing flips, so I am so tired the next day. Not to mention that I am still getting sick every now and then.

*July 22, 2207*

Well I went for my glucose test on Thursday, and my dr. called me Saturday morning with the bad news that the results were abnormal. She wanted me to go in first thing Monday morning but I have my ultrasound scheduled for Mon. morning, so that is way to long to fast. So I have to go in first thing Tuesday morning for the 3 hr. test.

*August 5,2007*

So I am 30 wks, I am exhausted all the time. I can sleep for 10 hrs a nite and I am still exhausted the next day. I am beginning to feel like this pregnancy will never end. Most of the time I start feeling really guilty because I am so tired all the time, I begin to ask myself if I am just being lazy, but I try everything for energy. My iron was a little low so I got some iron pills from my dr. I hope this will feeling will pass soon and I will start my nesting period soon...

*August 14,2007*

Well my energy has returned. I just cleaned my daughter's room from ceiling to floor, and I mean everything you can think of. I did some yard work yesterday. So I am feeling better, maybe it also has something to do with the fact that I am eating ALL the time!! I go to the dr. tomorrow so we will see how my weight gain goes.. wish me luck

TX for the suggestion to see if my insurance will cover the formula ~ every plan is different sadly. I have united health care/medco and sadly it isnt on the list as a covered script ~ gonna call them toorrow to see if there is a clause in there that will some how allow it. TX so much :)

Aj, Don't go changing any formula until u see ure peadatrician. I tried changing my daughters, but I ended up making her sick from it, so I changed her back to lactagon, which my pead is very happy with as she is gaining weight on. Ppl also say putting rice cereal in their bottle helps to thicken it, but I won't try that until my dr suggests it. At the moment she is on Zantac and she has a check up in 2 days, but hopefully everything is going good. Have u seen a dr for this yet? If so what has he/she suggested? I know it's a tough situation, but it does get better with time and monitering. But remember what may work for one baby dosen't mean it will work for another, thats why I say listen to ure dr,....by the way ure little man is gorgeous. Good luck with it all.

Hey hun!!!~~~ok changing to a liquid version of the formula def. did NOT help hailey at all. Made her worse cus for 1, it's thicker so it's kinda like giving them a whole new formula that they have to get accustomed too, and 2, it's just thicker formula.. no added rice or medicine to help keep it down in their tummies. It comes up thicker and they are more likely to choke on it. :x You know i'm not a professional but my advice is def. stick with the powdered stuff. Even though it sucks having to make a bottle all the time. :P I just remember the crap Hails went through and trust me, i know it's not a pretty thing coming back up or watching them suffer. OO i hope you find something that works for you guys!! They need to invent a GERD away pill lmao. How's things going? Are you guys done shopping for christmas yet? God, i'm not lol. Hope you all are well!!! :P

IMy pedi switched my daughter to already made formula (enfamil AR Lipil) and so far it has worked great. My daughter is also on Zantac. She will still spit up alot but at least she can eat and she's not in pain.

Thanks so much for your input on the last name issue! I really want to go with Michael's last name, I'm just sick of hearing about 'how wrong it is' from my family! I guess I'll just have to stand up for myself! Anyway- I hope everything is going well with you! Thanks again! ~Robin~

Thanks for writing back, I also want our baby to be a couple weeks old before our trip up to Minnesota for my brothers wedding. The trip is 2,000 miles and a week after my due date so I figure if I have my membranes stripped at 38 weeks I could could have him sooner and be somewhat rested and prepare for the long drive. Hopefully he'll be asleep most of the drive. Thanks again and good luck with your last few weeks! xoxo theresa :)

Theresas1stbaby - Monday, 27 Aug
Hi I saw you wrote you had your membranes stripped and it was something I wanted to do also. Are there any risks with doing it? Did it hurt a lot afterwards? I haven't been told how big my baby is at all, I wouldn't mind going into labor at 38 weeks though. Does it make you go into labor within the next day or so? Sorry for so many ?'s I just was glad to see someone who already experienced membrane stripping so anything you can tell me about it would be helpful! :) Are you planning to get it done for this pregnancy? I hope you're doing well, xoxo theresa

DianaC86 - Wednesday, 15 Aug
WAHOO!! Us H-Town girls should get an award for being 7 1/2 months pregnant during one of the hottest times of the year. Every time i step outside i feel like i'm going to melt.. it's been horriable. So how are the iron pills working out for you?? my iron is also a little low and i just bought some irons pills a few days ago.. but i keep forgeting to take them. I should put them next to my prenatal vitamins. But since I'm became pregnant, i have become an idiot and forget everything. Well i hope you have a great day and congrats on having a little boy!! : )
