So apparently I suck at these blog things. That's okay though.

I live with my wonderful fiancee, Fred, just outside Tampa, FL. I'm originally from Boston, while he's always lived around Tampa. We've been together for almost three years, and are now expecting our baby girl!

Towards the end of January, I was becoming slightly concerned because I was late on my period. However, that was nothing new, it was never on time, always varied from being early, to over a month late. I honestly did not believe I was preggers. Fred, however, told me to 'amuse' him and piss on the preggo test stick, he even went out and bought it for me. One morning I figured I would, he had already left for work and I was getting ready to go into work myself. I did the deed, left it on the toilet, and then hopped in the shower not thinking much of it. I get out, halfway forgetting that I had taken the test, glance over at it, and NO LIE, had to look at it like 10 times. There was no way it said pregnant, right?!?! lol, I looked at it like 10 times just to make sure that the word 'not' wasn't in front of it. Now, realizing, that the test did actually come back positive, that I was preggers, I had to call Fred. So I go find my phone and call him. (All while going back to the test a couple of times to 'just be sure') I tell him, 'hun, I'm pregnant.' and he totally almost crashed his car. lol. He was happy though. He's going to be a great dad.

Anyways, I'll write more later.

well later ended up being... birth story!!!

Monday August 25th- I went to my normal week 37 appointment. Doctor checked me for dialation, said I was 1cm (week before I was 0) and then she stripped my membranes without me knowing. I experienced A LOT of bleeding afterwards. That night I lost my plug.
Tuesday 26th- Went to work. I work in retail, and was going to give them an ultimatum. Either make me work the register all day being able to sit down, or I`m going home. (normally I work in the computer department standing all day) They agreed to put me on the register. Was there for about 3 hours checking customers out, having BH`s every like 10 minutes. This old guy came up to the register with like a TV stand to purchase. I felt a poping feeling in my stomache, and then my pants were soaked! So, my water broke. I looked at the customer and said `oh shit` he responded, is everything okay? I didn`t answer him and paged over our walkie talkies `I need someone up at my register, like now.` Three other employees ran over to me. They wheeled me into the breakroom and I waited there for my fiancee to come pick me up.
My fiancee arrived about 30 minutes later (he works 50 minutes away) and we drove to the hospital. They checked me in, was 2cm`s dialated, 70%. An hour later I was 3cms dialated 90%. Got the epidural. OMG that thing was amazing. Everyone- get it. They checked me 3 hours later and I was 6cm. Then I started to feel pain. I thought the epidural stopped working. Like, the pain was so bad I was crying. Turns out, i was just ready to push. I pushed for like 45 minutes and out came Kelsey. I love her to death.
I tore AND got an episiotomy. The tear was on the side, and the episiotomy was on the bottom area. 2nd degree. I`m on lovely pain meds.

Anyways, Really, It wasn`t that bad. I pictured delivering her to be way worse. I`d do it again in a heartbeat.

Message to all This may be interesting to some of you. Seema`s email is seema.modhvadia@rdftelevision.com

Hi there,

I work for a television production company based in the UK . We are currently making a documentary for ITV1 exploring the issues surrounding pregnancy and eating disorders. The film will be a thoughtful and insightful look into this extremely sensitive subject.

We’re in the research stage of our production and very keen to chat to women who are, or have been, pregnant whilst having an eating disorder.

If you’re interested in having a chat or finding out more about our documentary, it would be really great to hear from you. All communication would be in complete confidence.

You can contact me on: seema.modhvadia@rdftelevision.com

Sx

jules94 - Thursday, 28 August

my2sweetbabies - Thursday, 28 August
Congrats!!! Maybe I'm just stupid, but where's your birth story? Is there a seperate place for those?

cmmbear - Tuesday, 26 August
Yeah NO kidding! I think I'd say something to her. That would've freaked me out too. I had to get checked today and that's all I could think about.

I know that feeling mine started trying to come around 31 weeks, and we managed to keep her in. Now the little monkey won't come out...lol. She should have told you she was stripping your membranes. It does hurt more then a normal exam! Was she nicer on the phone? Hopefully we will be holding our little ones sometime this week...lol. Hopefully they strip my membranes on Thursday if I have not gone into labor by then! Good luck with everything, and keep me informed on how things are going.

If you are having just some mild spotting that is very normal. I had a little light spotting after last weeks check, but it was not much at all. You need to be seen if you are having bright red blood and there is a lot of it. If you did pass a blood clot that could be very bad. Please go in and get checked out. If anything at least to have your mind at ease... Good luck with everything and please keep me informed...

Is there an option to like make an appointment or something so you can talk to someone? That's what I do when I call my Drs office and I need to speak to someone right then, just push the extension to make an appointment and that way you can talk to an actual person, if they want to put you through to voicemail tell them no that you are very concerned and need to talk to a nurse or Dr. if you're still not happy with what they tell you call the hospital. Spotting is normal after being checked and so are contractions...but that much blood I don't know if it is normal or not. I would definately call back. Good Luck

krissiehoran - Monday, 25 August
aw you poor thing that was an awful experience... you should ring the hospital cos there is a big difference between spotting and heavy blood flow... and dont think twice about complaining that a/hole doc, you are not an animal and at this stage of your pregnancy you should be treated with a lot of compassion... just cos she does this job everyday... i hope you are feeling better already x

Baby Helly - Wednesday, 20 August
Where in the heck do you work?? At my employment I think the men would be too afraid to say anything like that!!! There's a lot of people who joke around but no one has ever been serious about what they say (atleast that I know of LOL!!) Keep your head up, unfortunately this is the worst time for you to find out how rude people can be!!

m0th3r2b - Thursday, 14 August
Thanks for info on the group b strep stuff. I'll mentally prepare myself for spreading my legs lol. I guess i'm going to have to get used to the idea of strangers peeking down there, Hope all goes well with the rest of your pregnancy! xx

babymaj08 - Wednesday, 13 August
Hey thanks for your post... I'm right there with you... I don't think they really know what they're talking about. Someone else said they were off by 2 pounds just recently... I thought technology was getting better...?

Mommyo3 - Sunday, 6 July
yeah, that's what I'm struggling with. I really want this to be totally natural. No meds. And if I chose the c-section, then I'll have a longer recovery and always wonder if I could have done it vaginally.

I drink a TON of water too so I know it is not lack of water. I am going to try bananas just because I am desperate and even if it doesn't work at least the baby is getting some good nutrition ! lol Mine is still sore from a couple of days ago also.... I hate it. I could barely get out of bed this morning, it felt so stiff and sore.

Alky, I hope the pain you were describing has stopped. If not, you do really need to see the doctor. I had "a few" braxton hicks two weekends ago, turns out they were real contractions, my cervix had started to soften, and I failed the Ffn test (that tests for preterm labor). I had to have two steriod shots just incase my baby came over that weekend. Thanksfully, everything has stopped, but I'm on "pelvic rest" and being closely monitored. I don't want to scare you, but you do need to take contractions seriously when they come as often as they were coming for you. Good luck!!!

Hi there. I had a low lying placenta at my last ultrasound too. The doctor told me that all it means is the placenta was next to the cervix insted of being higher up........he said as your uterus grows the placenta should move up...........he has never seen one move down over the cervix.

If the placenta was over the cervix(placenta previa, I think) then you would have to have a c-section and they would have to watch for excess bleeding.

I am sure at your next ultrasound everything will be fine,

shyatt80 - Tuesday, 13 May
We have a lot in common.... My placenta is also lying low from my 19 week ultrasound and I go next wednesday for my follow up ultrasound. ALSO I have had horrible lower right side back pain! Last week was really bad bc I couldn't even get out of the bed without assistance! I feel much better this week but it still hurts. I hope you get to feeling better soon! Let me know how your ultrasound goes.

melmelwel32 - Saturday, 29 Mar
It is not too early- we are scheduled to go in for our 15th week (I am in 14 now) as they can determine sex even earlier than that but they like to wait until you are at least 15 weeks to make sure that the parts are developed! My appt is April 5th. Keep me updated on what you are having =)
