September 22nd

I have not been able to update my profile for a long time. So many things had been happening while I was pregnant which kept me pretty busy,but now I have a wonderful little bundle to keep me busy. I will be home for a while so maybe he will allow me a little time to get on here and do some updating.

Sept 10th was the big day. Adrien was born and changed my world for the best. He didn't want to make his appearance he just wanted to keep "getting the good stuff" from inside me. He was getting large and I wanted to avoid a C-Section so we went in to be induced on the day after his due date,but in the end I ended up with one anyway. He was a big boy 8lbs 12oz. All went pretty well for both of us and he is so handsome.

We are home and trying to get use to the daily routine that all new parents have to go through. Though I'm mostly very tired I would never trade any of it. I loved my pregnancy, but love being a Mom even more.

My little guy is laying in his crib making the razzberry sound and turning his musical aquarium on and off with is foot. Seems like yesterday that I was in your position. Time goes so quickly, but I'm having a blast!

Yay! Not long now... I'm so happy for you!!

My husband and I watched a video provided by the hospital about the proper "latch" for breastfeeding. It really helped us understand what to do. Also, there should be a lactation consultant at the hospital to help you. Just make sure you try to feed your little guy as soon as possible after he's born (within the hour) and don't allow bottles or pacifiers for a while. If he satisfies himself with formula or through suckling (sp?) he won't want to nurse as vigorously. Our bodies were made for this and babies are born knowing what to do. It truly is an amazing thing! Best of luck!

Glad you get 12 weeks. That's what I got, too. Does your 12 weeks start counting now, or when your little one arrives? What are you doing with yourself until he comes?

I did return to work a few weeks ago. I've cut back to a part-time status (a scary yet obvious choice). I'm working about 25 hours a week now instead of more than 50. We've got Karson in a family daycare situation that is working out really well. I'm only away from him for 4-5 hours at a time, which is ideal for breastfeeding.

Karson rolled over for the first time on Sunday. It was so exciting! It's amazing how this little guy has changed our world so dramatically for the better!

Yay! 4 weeks to go! You'll have your little guy in your arms before you know it. Oh my gosh. I'm so excited for you!! You'd better settle on a name SOON! :) What if you go into labor early?

I was anxious, too but everything went beautifully for us. I hope you have the same experience. Best of luck to you in the coming weeks. Please keep me posted, if you have time.

Are you still working that crazy schedule? What will you do once the little one arrives?

Hey you! I'm feeling good....well besides the swollen feet and hands, sore back, hard tummy and the fact that i can't get a decent nights sleep. ;)
3 weeks ago i lost my plug, but they also said that i wasn't dialated yet...which was a good thing cause that would be a little to early. My next appointment is on wednesday so we'll see whats going then. Baby is measuring a little large in the tummy area so delivery may be interesting......i have to go see an OB about that now. Geez.....when is this over!! Anyways....how are YOU and baby doing!??

Yes, we took every class we could find. Together my husband and I took a 4 week birthing class that told us what to expect during prelabor, labor, delivery, post-delivery and some basics on how to care for our newborn. We also took a breastfeeding class. If you hope to breastfeed, I'd HIGHLY encourage that you take a class. I was really glad my husband attended because he remembered some of the tips they provided that I forgot about. I swear he's the reason we were so successful right away. My husband also took a "Daddy Bootcamp" class that we thought might be cheesy, but it wasn't at all. He loved the opportunity to chat with dads in the same situation. They were able to candidly talk about their crazy wives, and they learned some good tips for infant care including how to cope with fussy babies.
We're doing well. My son is a very good baby. He was pretty much born understanding the difference between night and day, and he's usually only fussy for a reason. So, I can't complain at all. I went for my 6 week check yesterday and got the clearance for resuming exercise. I'm pretty anxious about all of the weight I gained while pregnant - I've still got a good 20 pounds to lose. I've never had to lose weight before, so this will take a lot of self control!
I hope your life is settling down a bit. Are you still making that big commute every day?

Happy Mothers Day to you too! Nice to hear from you. It's funny because before I signed on today i thought to myself that I should leave an update on my page because I haven't in months. Everything is super great. I'm 30weeks now....can you beleive it!? So only 10 more to go.......i'm counting down the days. You're not to far behind me....i hope all is well.

A 2 hour commute!! That's crazy! How long do you have to continue that? What are you doing with all that time in the car? Maybe you could learn a new language or something :) My husband has a 40 minute commute each way and he listens to audiobooks to pass the time. He listened to all of the Harry Potter books and said he started thinking in a British accent and the characters seemed like his friends from spending so much time with them.
I'm glad your little one is doing well. I didn't even realize you knew 'it' was a 'he'. Congratulations! Do you have names picked? I had trouble sleeping, too. Between my husband and his snoring, my little guy tumbling about and my crazy mind I'm lucky I didn't go insane from lack of sleep. HA! I made it through though and boy is it wonderful! I can't wait for you to have your little bundle in your arms, too. That will surely make this tough year a much better one! Thanks for updating me. I'll keep sending good thoughts your way.
