My profile
I am 30 and am expecting my second child in November. Right now I have a healthy 5 and 1/2 year old son. We got pregnant with our second child which was a bit of a shock but none the less we were excited. Everything was going perfectly and on the 30th birthday (20 weeks) I was told I would be having the baby girl I always wanted. I was told I needed to come back in 4 weeks to look at her heart because she wasn't in a good position and told me not to worry. So I didn't. We went back in 4 weeks and found the ventricles to be enlarged measuring between 16 and 18 mm. We had so many words thrown at us and we still don't know what it all means. We have had follow ups and an MRI which said that they could only see part of the corpus collosum and the cerebellum looks a little small along with the enlarged ventricles. They also told us they wanted us back to redo the MRI because the fluid is in the way to get a clear view. Every other part of her is where it is suppose to be. I am 25 weeks almost 26 weeks and just don't know what to think. If an MRI is so accurate why do they need to look again. She is growing and moving. No other problems are detected and her heart even looks good now. I go back in two weeks to have another u/s. Will update after that.
