My profile
My name is Amelia. I have two very wonderful little girls. My oldest is Payton and was born September 2006, and my baby is Parker who was born January 2009. I love being a mommy to two little girls. I have found that giving my daughter a sibling was the best thing I could have ever done for her. I love driving in the car listening to them laugh back and forth at each other, and it just melts my heart to watch them play. People say that you can never love anything more than the smile on your child's face, but I disagree.... I love watching my daughters love each other. It literally brings tears to my eyes. I hope they continue to have that bond for many years to come.
Like it or hate it here is who I am:
1. I beleive in the philosophy "whatever works for you". Every person is different and I think that parents need to find what works for them. Whether it is breastfeeding/formula feeding, co-sleeping, spanking/not spanking, I think the "right" way to do it is the way that works best for your family. I do have a few exceptions though. They are probably listed in this list.
2. I am very opinionated, and I am always right :)
3. I truly beleive that this world would be a better place if all parents taught love, RESPECT and kindness. (exception to #1.)
4. Everyday I try to do something to better my husband's day. I have "trained" him to do the same.
5. Before I go to bed I sneak into my daughter's rooms to make sure they have covers on and to give them one more kiss. I have done this everynight since my oldest daughter was born.
6. I "talk up" my husband to my daughters. I want them to think that they have the best daddy in the whole world, and I want them to know that I think that as well.
7. I think that my children have the best grandparents in the whole world. And yes, I LOVE my mother in law :)
8. I have a shopping problem, not for myself, but for my children. On the same note, I can't get rid of any of my daughter's clothes because I would be sad if someone did not keep them as nice as I have and would. (not that I would ever know)
9. I beleive that a parent should run the household, not the child! I also beleive that too many parents need a reality check in this area. note: see point #3. (also an exception to #1.)
10. I am creative and can make just about anything. I would love to someday open an online children's boutique.
11. I have goals that I will never achieve yet I am ok with them. That way I can work toward them everyday of my life. These goals are: a.) treat everyone with kindness all the time. b.) do not judge others. c.) do not gossip. AND...d.) live veryday like it is your last.
12. My favorite color is pink and I love being a girl. I also LOVE that my daughter is a "girly girl". I hope my other daughter is the same way, yet I would never encourage her to be something she is not, or demean her for being who she is.
13. I will always support my children no matter what they chose to do. I may let them know I disagree, but I will always be behind them in case they need someone to catch them when they fall.
13 1/2. I will always be on my child's team, even if she is wrong. Yes, I will let them know, and teach them different, but I will always give her the benifit of doubt. I never want my child to go through something alone. Right or wrong.
14. I love making new friends and I wish I had time to start, or even join a Mommy group.
15. I cannot spell and I wish I was better at being gramatically correct. :)
