Hi :) I am Alyssa. I live with my boyfriend Leon, and our puppy Fiona. We are pregnant with our first little baby and I am so excited. I want a girl, and he of course, wants a boy. Really, though, It doesn't matter... we are just really excited. We are heavily influenced by art and motivated by creativity (him being a web designer/graphic and myself, photographer) so I have a feeling we have a little artist in the oven... this expirience will be so amazing and I am excited to be able to talk to girls on here, since I have no pregnant friends . Some of the closest people to me are not longer living thier life, and so I will cherish this little one more than anyone will or could ever know. Yay for babies. xo

Self portraits per-say. I love photos.

I love the beatles. I find comfort in thier music.

FIONA. My first 'child' haha. (Before her first haircut)

Fiona in mommys office.

This is Leon and I in Feb 2008 for my 22nd birthday. Im a brunette now.

19 weeks, I finally have a little somethin poking out but not much. People are always like 'you dont look pregnant at all, and im like IM A TINY LADY WITH A TINY BELLY WHAT THE HELL???" LOL

I'm not really showing either. Today, I wore my crappy bra and a shirt with an empire waist and people were like, "Oh you are starting to show" But really that's only because my boobs are looking smaller in this bra than the others and the rest is just my normal belly.

I am not showing at all either. I'm nervous about it because I don't want to blow up one day and have stretch marks. My doctor said I am lucky and that I'll probably only gain 25 pounds. I haven't gained any yet. We are part of the elite few! Sorry Bitches! :)

I was reading your comment about the stethoscope... I have a pretty expensive Littman (that I use for work) and I have been trying almost every day to hear with that and I can't hear anything either!! I have dopplers at my work but I don't like to use them all the time because they say its not really safe... so I'm gonna keep trying to hear with the stethoscope... let me know if it works for you!!

MommyKatRN - Saturday, 19 April
yes, I promise it's fine!! the movements you feel will be inconsistent right now because the baby is so small... sometimes you might feel him a lot and sometimes you might not feel him at all. when you get to about 24-26 weeks, there starts to be a pattern of movement, and then its more important to pay attention to it more... but right now, don't worry if you don't feel him sometimes, its normal!!! :-) :-)

Julian is a GREAT name!

Chris and I bought a baby book and each went through it, making a list of names. I took the two lists, and found the ones that we had in common- and than we rated those.

We had to toss Julian off the list, because I liked "julIAN' and he liked "julIUS" and neither of us was willing to compromise on the name!

have you read Anne Rice at all? In her Witching Hour series Julian is the only male witch in 13 generations of this family that has any "power' at all... geeky, but awesome at the same time ^^

I haven't gained hardly any weight, and I am SO surprised, because I feel like my tummy is huge (compared to pre-pregnancy at least). I've been all stressy lately, so I've barely been eating, too >< I do manage to shove a thing of avocado spicy sushi down my throat everyday- but beyond that ... it's a good thing the baby has prenatals!

I wouldn't worry too much about not feeling your baby move. There were days where I would go without feeling her after she had been active the day before. I'm sure your little boy it just fine!

Loudlilwhytemommy - Friday, 18 April
Thank you I was a mess!

haha I know... thats a scary thought!
I am definately growing though. My husband is out of the country right now on business, but when he comes back, he is gonna be like damn girl, look how you've grown! hehehe

Aye yesturday I was on my way home from work and started to feel some movement. When I put my hand by the area of movement, I could actually feel it with my hand. It was his lil hand or head sorta doing a poking thing. I fell in love all over again.

i remember when i felt movement at 18 weeks, it was awesome, then for a few days nothing... it happens even now at 31 weeks, if you read my last post there. everything will be fine, maybe its sleepy or conserving energy to grow!!
take care

Hey there, I'm almost 22 weeks and some days my baby isn't very active. I asked my doctor about it at my 20 week check up and she stated that its still pretty early so its normal. She said they get concerned about it not moving when you get farther along.

Alyssa-
I would try to get some recommendations form other women w small children or babies who loved their obgyn. I asked around alot and i like mine fine. she has seemed kinda in a hurry almost but I heard alot of good words about her so
im thinking Ive just caught her on stressful busy days so far. Shes very nice though.

melmelwel32 - Friday, 18 April
Congrats on your little man! Looks like a lot of us in here are having boys! =)

Loudlilwhytemommy - Friday, 18 April
The doc and the sonogram tech didnt find any indications of downs sydrome! Im a false positive!! YAY NO DOWNS

wildlilred1983 - Friday, 18 April
you know if i were you i wouldnt worry about not being able to feel the baby move all the time yet. because you are only week 17. you wont fell the baby all the time until about 21 weeks or so. but if you do feel you should go to the doctor ust follow you insticts and do what you feel is right!

Loudlilwhytemommy - Friday, 18 April
ITS A GIRL!! Im still letting it sink in!

happyinvention - Friday, 18 April
ps. how's your belly going? mine's gradually bigger, and when i lay on my back i can feel it "pop" up and out, it's pretty friggin sweet! i read that at week 18 our uterus' are about the size of a cantaloupe.. wooo!

happyinvention - Friday, 18 April
just watch out for crazy mean old ladies, that's all. the grandma types seem to love babies though, and totally enjoy the process.

i feel little jasper dancing around in there after i eat breakfast, or dinner :D for now i feel more of a wiggling- but last night i sat there and kept "poking him" while i was putting lotion on... he wiggled.. wiggled and than kicked!

sort of like "jeez mom, friggin stop it up there"

ha!

the4ofus - Friday, 18 April
It is so crazy...I am the same way, but our little girl is the best of both worlds. Girly and boyish. You will be super with a boy, they always love their Mammas!! I am sure you partner is super excitied. Wasn't the u/s amazing?? I have been feeling pretty good, had a rough day yesterday, kind of some cramping/streching, and a really bad headache, all day, but today was SO MUCH better. I can't feel for sure if I have felt the baby move,I think I have but then think I am overracting. I don't know. Very soft, I figure I would really be able to feel it with this being my second pregnancy. But everything is so different this time around.
