Hi :) I am Alyssa. I live with my boyfriend Leon, and our puppy Fiona. We are pregnant with our first little baby and I am so excited. I want a girl, and he of course, wants a boy. Really, though, It doesn't matter... we are just really excited. We are heavily influenced by art and motivated by creativity (him being a web designer/graphic and myself, photographer) so I have a feeling we have a little artist in the oven... this expirience will be so amazing and I am excited to be able to talk to girls on here, since I have no pregnant friends . Some of the closest people to me are not longer living thier life, and so I will cherish this little one more than anyone will or could ever know. Yay for babies. xo

19 weeks, I finally have a little somethin poking out but not much. People are always like 'you dont look pregnant at all, and im like IM A TINY LADY WITH A TINY BELLY WHAT THE HELL???" LOL

try to find an older woman? lol, that is what i did for mine! she ended up having older equipment, but she was very kind and sweet and always answered any questions- or addressed any issues (that's why we found the gastro!)

I too grew up w/ all girls in my family, and my first 2 children were both girls! So needless to say, when my 3rd ultrasound showed a twig & berries it was the most awesome feeling to think I'm going to have a SON!!! Congrats mamma :o) You are in for a treat, boys are super sweet and lovable, but they will make you work from "son" up til "son" down..lol!

Yeah some days, I look much bigger than other days, I find that very weird how it fluctuates.

I thought the same thing when they told me I was going to have a boy... that was 3 yrs ago. I was told today that I am having another boy! I am so happy! Boys are great. They have SO MUCH ENERGY and want to get into EVERYTHING, so be prepared!! You are going to love it! Congratulations!!

congrats on the boy :) we wanted a girl, but i absolutely knew that it was a boy from about 8-10 weeks on for some reason. i was still semi surprised though :)
it took 25 minutes at my normal OB for a "i think its a boy" and an hour and a half at the hospital (complications with the boy already!) and near the end the technician finally got a glimpse of his little man junk
he was mooning us, and going through hoops in my uterus through most of the ultrasounding!

Hey there :o)
The earlier ultrasounds are more accurate b/c babies start growing at different rates later on, hence the fact that some babies are bigger than others. I have big babies and with my later ultrsounds doc always thinks that I am further along, but I know I just have a bigger than avg bean in there, once I point that out to them, they are always like "Well, ok, that explains it!"...also, I have used a "group" of doctors with my other preganacies and I got similar treatment, always felt really rushed and they never really listened or cared...I opted to try a more private practice this go-round (just one doc...I know crazy...and she's a WOMAN) and the experience has been wonderful~it makes all the difference, and if it is an option for you, I suggest switching, it's not too late and you will be glad you did :) Remember, you will have to see those people like every week the last month! Ahhh!

hey girl. i just wanted to let you know the coolest thing. on bellybeats.com, i rented a fetal heart beat monitor, its just 25 a month. it is AWESOME!! i can listen to its heart beat every day! you should consider it. my doc said its perfectly safe. that is if you can't get the stethescope to work!
